that was what I was doing. apparently, my problem was that there is no GUI while adding, only splitting. So... it's a PEBKAC error. Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair. D:
EDIT- BUUUTTT I did find an actual problem. Tilled dirt under the sprinkler will randomly change back to non-tilled dirt. Sometimes even JUST after having been hydrated, so half your sprinkler-watered land will be dirt before you can plant your farm. But since the sprinkler DOES hydrate the land, an easy workaround is to plant right after you till/harvest, since crops lock the land to tilled to allow people to farm by rain (unless harvested or trampled of course).
But then there's another issue, with the Canola seeds and plants. They aren't locking the dirt to Tilled.
Like so:
(on a related note, how do I make a spoiler tag to hide the image and not bloat the thread? -.- )
EDIT 2- Okay, so the sprinklers CAN actually keep the land tilled properly. it just takes a couple tries, since they do initially go back to dirt kinda at random. just keep re-tilling it until it gets hydrated for a bit.

I know about how canola does not keep dirt tilled. I have no idea how to fix that.

Very, very strange.
Now, as it happens, the face-flip is a set/unset type of thing (that is, set a direction and it remains that way until set to something else), not one that must be fired every render tick (like a GLScale).
That then means that you are experiencing an on-place or "first tick of existence" flip, which is of course undone by the world being reloaded.
Also, as for things happening based on where you look:
Most render code runs only if you have the machine in your FOV.
As I was working I noticed that if I placed a shaft on the ceiling (see picture) it would place upside-down but I started seeing that on-place bug again (missing UI; if I played with it I could get the full missing-face visual issue). If I quit and reloaded this the shafts were right-side up but the visual bug was gone.
Hmm this setup works, so your machine don't actually get melted by lava?
Most machines do not check for temperature effects, no.
But those mirrors below other mirrors contribute nothing to the solar plant's power, and the ones on the diagonals (not connected to the plant) do not even register to the plant at all.

This confirms my suspicion that the model-flip is the cause, but as for why only you are experiencing it...

Fixed.
donwload link ?
and write to the latest fashion in the first post - how do you know that a new version of flipping the board?
Do we have to download the newest version from github then?
Cause the normal download link in the op still says 1.6v4b from 2013-11-03 00:29:08 what i asume is the unfixed version then

Do you have any idea how bad it looks to be demanding a new download link immediately after every new fix? You do realize I have other demands on my time, and that I do not make new updates every time I change something, right?

Here's a suggestion: If you make beam mirrors interact with daylight sensors, and then make floodlights (or some other block) interact with both, then that will be an (admittedly expensive) wireless redstone system right there from existing blocks.

The inquisitors were torturing Harry.
First, Ignatius used the rock.
Then Billy asked Harry if he wanted to read his BDSM blog. Harry was so surprised that his pants flew right off. He was wearing women's underpants. The inquisitors were wearing them, too.
I didnt demended anything just ask if github may be the a better place to get your updates. And it also would help to prevent others from posting the same bug thats been fixed already. Not everybody checking your github for updates they just hit the download button and wonder then why its still have a bug that been told been fixed. Just a little sidenote in the op to check your github would be enough.
My GitHub does not contain new downloads either.
Also, if people just click "download" without even reading the post, then that is not my problem.

Is that really necessary? The beam mirrors use sunlight, and the floodlights can be powered with a DC engine. Hook a daylight sensor to an inverter, route that to a DC engine, and you have a system that is functionally the same.

Oh, what, floodlights already power daylight sensors? I didn't realize that, sorry to suggest something that's already in.
While I'm proposing obvious ideas - any chance you'll support Redstone Flux when TE3 comes out? Pretty pretty please?

No, the floodlight will not power night sensors. This is due to hardcoding on the sensors' part.
I misunderstood your original point to be asking for an automatic (sunset-triggered) lighting system.
There is no way (I know of) to easily use RC for wireless redstone; it was never intended for that.

When the floodlight is powered, I'm unable to place any blocks in it's direct path. Also, if you cut off the path for the beam mirror (so say your hall is mirror lit, then you block the whole thing off with stone) the area stays lit.
Guessing you used an invisible block that produces light for that effect, and now I wonder if the Wrath Lamp from Factorization does the same.
Pipes not connecting.
Engine not accepting steam.
wrong engine accepting steam.
it seems the crash on place disappeared when I updated to .4b.
Just to show I do know how to set up the steam engine correctly.
