Yeah, it actually didn't make a difference before for items whether they were anonymous or not. However, in 1.7, it seems that the system has changed (I hear rumors that block/item id conflicts may one day be a thing of the past... That would be nice...), so now they must be registered in Forge. I'll do my best to port the items/blocks/everything over to 1.7 (when it becomes stable) in a way that nobody loses information.
Hi! Love the mod and all the ways you can teleport, real good! The only thing is that when I teleport, there is a short weird deformation animation... Would there be a way to remove it/disable it? Thanks!

That's the nausea effect and it is supposed to happen. It's the same as if you go through the nether portals
Oh, right... Thanks! I do wonder if it can be cancelled... Maybe there's a mod for it (and since I now know why it happens, might find a way to stop it!) Thanks again!
Exactly. It's just an ambient effect of the portal, like the teleport noise. It shouldn't affect you besides swirling your screen around a bit. You can't cancel it unless you leave the portal. Then it should go away almost immediately. Is it causing you trouble?
Note: Colourful Portals was tested and works with each of these individually, but some of these may be incompatible with eachother (for example, Biomes-O-Plenty and Highlands don't work perfectly together). Red means that I haven't been able to test it with the current version (most likely because the mod wasn't updated when I ran the tests). -Aether II (Note that it won't let you enter dungeons using the colourful portals) -Twilight Forest (On an interesting note, you can create the Twilight Forest portal using colourful water instead of water) -Mystcraft (Adds a Colourful Water Block page) -Dimensional Doors (The random dimension destinations CAN take you to Limbo. I wouldn't suggest making any random dimension destinations if you have Dimensional Doors) -Buildcraft (The colourful water can be piped, but not added to tanks directly. Also, the texture inside the tanks is broken) -Galacticraft (The portals that have a random dimension destination don't seem to generate on a planet before the planet is visited once. At least it seemed that way while testing, so I may have been really unlucky) -Minecraft Comes Alive (It crashed once while testing, but I couldn't reproduce the problem (I tried really hard), so it may have been a fluke. It could also be because MCA seems rather buggy in general (I've had it crash when it was the only mod installed)) -Not Enough Items (If you spawn in a colourful portal block by itself (with no frame of wool or clay), the block will always teleport you back to itself) -CandyCraft (Note entities will not correctly travel between dimensions) -Rei's Minimap
-Coral Reef Mod -Damage Indicator -Bibliocraft -Biomes-o-Plenty -Crafting Guide -Familiars API (and the Default Mob Pack and Extended Fam Pack) -Food Plus -Timber! -Instant Blocks -More Explosives -Highlands -Jammy Furniture -MrCrayfish's Furniture -Mine and Blade Battlegear 2 -Extra Doors -Rival Rebels -TF2 Teleporters -Presence FootstepsIf anyone knows of a Forge/Modloader mod this may not be compatible with, please tell me so I can check it out.
MC Mods that do work with this mod.(with some known buges from each mod(s).) All mods are on MC 1.6.4
Rei's Minimap or Zen's Minimap would not appear at all. I looked into see if I had it off but they would not show with this mod(s), as I don't remember if I tried them without the other mods on.
I hope to add
-Fossils and Archeology Revival mod.(kinda waiting, for it's still in beta and in MC 1.5.2)
-Industrial Craft 2 (Once they are out of the experimental builds.)
-Rei's or Zen's Minimap (once whatever isn't working is fixed (if it can be).)
Just need a mod that will keep the chunks loaded and running. For like chickens to drop eggs or wheat to grow.

Hmm, very odd. I have had it work with both Rei's Minimap (though not in 1.6.4), and Zan's minimap (the current version, I just haven't added it to the list), and have seen no problems at all. Really this mod isn't doing anything that would interfere with minimaps. At least I can't think of anything.
It might help to try them by themselves. Also (for both I think), press the M key and make sure the maps are enabled (not hidden or something).
If they do work, then try adding in other mods one or a couple at a time, and see at which point they break.

Ok, I'll try that. I was thinking there really should be anything going on between the those two mods (minimaps & portals). I didn't do to much digging, because I just really wanted to play with all my favorite mods. Your's now included.

So, I got it working with Zen's minimap and all the mods but NEI. I think it may have been the order I installed them in, maybe? but I thing found a bug/glitch with NEIplugin, or NEI?
I stood in the portal for about a minute and nothing happened, just nausea.I'm inside the portal block.

I actually have it working with both Zan's Minimap and NEI right now (though I don't have NEI Plugins).
By the way, in regards to the picture, there are two types of portals, big framed ones and the small 1-block ones. The big one is made with a solid, connected frame made of a single type of wool or stained clay, and the colourful water placed on the bottom. The single block portal is just placed on the ground somewhere else. They shouldn't be put together (see the video by Antvenom in the main post for a demonstration).
Nothing happened because (I'm assuming) you only had 1 portal, and therefore nowhere to teleport. You need to create at least two of the same type. Also, once you teleport you can't teleport again until you get out of the portal and back in, unless you hold SHIFT (or sneak, if you use a different key).

I've been running it just fine with NEI since I loaded up the mod. Never had any issues with them or either of the minimaps. As for the delay that just has something to do with the portals not recognizing that it's been long enough since the last time the portal was used to allow you to teleport

Tell me if you have any more problems!
Well I re-watched Antvenom's video and I think I am just as silly as I can be. I was using the small 1-block in the big portal and I think that's what messing it all up.
Thank you so much for putting up with my silliness.

No problem. Everyone's silly every so often. =) I'm glad you figured it out.
Guess what? Forge 1.7.2 is finally marked as "Recommended"! I can finally start updating. =D
I would like everyone's opinion on something though... I've encountered a bit of a problem. The stain proof bucket is no longer stain proof. They updated glass so it can now be stained, and it's staining the buckets all over the place, and ruining the colourful water. =(
What should I change the materials to? I was thinking stainless steel made with iron, coal, and a new ore chrome, which you could smelt and use to make the bucket. But I want your suggestions/opinions. If nobody gives suggestions, then I'll probably do what I said above.

I don't really know how I'd feel about adding a new ore. To be honest, part of the reason I picked your portal mod over the other choices, is that, while you do add new blocks and craftable items, you stuck to purely vanilla Minecraft means by which to get them. Adding a new ore, means changing terrain generation to incorporate said ore. And really, I think that's something to be avoided whenever possible.
Really, a very simple solution might be to just remove the "glass pane" portion of the recipe, and maybe substitute the "Stain Proof Bucket" with a "Lava Bucket", or maybe with another coloured dye. I mean, you're not using "Purple" (or Magenta, or Pink" in your recipes, yet coloured portals do have some touches of purple-ish colour here and there.
Just my twenty cents. Still, it's a great mod, and I'm really happy to see you're going to be able to update to 1.7.2! I started using this, because I went from playing a mate's server, complete with the Stargate plugin, to mostly vanilla single player mode, and really missed being able to jump dimensions with my portals. Even Command Blocks can't allow for cross-dimensional travel, so your mod is definitely a "must have" for me, now. Especially those little "single block" portal blocks. They're nice to tuck into little cubby holes, without the portal effect totally giving it away (and for "multi-floor elevator portals").
And before I forget, thanks for this mod! Even if the first thing you hear from me is a critique regarding adding anything that changes terrain generation. ¬_¬
I think the closest you could get to the stain-proof bucket would be to slightly change the crafting recipe, such as instead of using glass panes to make the bucket able to hold the colourful water, using ingots or maybe even a diamond or emerald adding to the challenge of being able to create the portals. Just realized that is one sentence.... ah well

That's a good point. That was my concern too, since one of my main goals in creating this mod was to keep it as simple and compatible as possible. Ore generation would complicate things...
Interesting idea; I hadn't considered using dyes while creating the bucket. Hmm. Maybe instead of a "stain proof bucket" it could be a bucket that's already so stained and supersaturated with dye that it couldn't affect the dye in the water.
The problem with using a vanilla bucket of water or lava in the recipe is that you will always get the regular bucket back in your inventory after crafting, regardless of the recipe output. I couldn't find a way to disable that, so I had to just work around it.

Yeah, but what to use... Hmm, I'm not sure about diamond or emerald (since they can be so obnoxious to find unless you're lucky, and they aren't really stain proof). I wouldn't be against adding a bit of challenge to make the buckets, however. They are a bit easy to make...
Oh, Oh! Idea flash! What if you have to make some kind of a paste that you could use instead of the glass panes, maybe made with materials that are a bit harder to come by (including ender pearls and slime, maybe)? What do you guys think?
