Or -- and this is much easier, by far -- you could upgrade your Minecraft to anything from 1.5.2 to 1.6.4 which is the scope of releases supported by this. I doubt support for 1.4.x will be added when he's probably working on 1.7 / 1.8, which is where Minecraft itself is headed.
Sorry to bust your bubble!
That is true, although with all the time its taking for mcp to update I might just start backporting releases the actual update will only take about a hour or 2 at most the problem is waiting on mcp to update fully and be stable, and I have to use mcp not forge since forge changed the way it handled base minecraft code edit. If I could use forge everything would move faster.

Too bad there isn't a "'Forge' For 1.7/1.8 In 5 Easy Steps!" type program or book out there!
... Actually, I suppose there could be but I never bothered to look as the extent of my programming skills ends with Windows batch commands, BASH scripting, and whatever HTML/CSS/Visual Basic stuff I learned 15 years ago in college.

Lol there are pretty easy forge modding tuts, however there are no tuts/possible ways to do the type of code edit im doing and still make it fast anymore that is. From what I understand its taking mcp so long to update because all of there scripts are being rewritten in F# instead of Python.

Well, F# is supposed to make everything better by being a better, faster, more reliable, more flexible, and more powerful language except that it specifically targets the .NET framework. Everybody knows, .NET is *NOT* a universal standard. It's another Microsoft control imperative deviance written by control-freak bastards who can't stand all the negative feedback that hits the fan every time they release a "new and improved" version of their clunky closed-source World Domination O.S.
I guess I'm too "old school" for these new modern programming contrivances... *lol*

I did not even think about it like that either, I knew it was .NET targeted, but if i cant use the scripts on linux because of that its going to drive me mad. First forge made it hard for me to port this mod to it, and if mcp does something where I have to use windows that will suck lol (even though I dual boot them anyways). The only argument closed source software has is that it needs to have higher standards which is a double edged sword because they often release software that is buggy and more hacky then the opensource equivalent, and so they just want to hide their code that is less standard compliant then opensource code is and say it is "higher standards". Although I guess I can see the benefit for a few closed source things.

Well, they say it's supposed to be cross-platform, with Open Source compilers available for Mac and *Nix, but Microsoft was one of the biggest backers and developers of F#, and it's bundled into Visual Studio now, so anybody NOT running F# on Windows may have some irritations to work out.
Supposedly though, F# is supposed to help you code faster, smarter, and smaller. Didn't think that was possible on Windows...
It didn't work out for me. I am using Intel(R) Core(TM) duo 2.20 Ghz. Can you help me solve this puzzle which makes me difficult to comprehend the functions? I am just 3 fps going into it. My Minecraft won't go for it. It is not boosting it anyway.

If you're not running a Minecraft version between 1.5.2 and 1.6.4, then it's unlikely you'll actually get this to work.

It should just work if installed right although some installations still dont work for some reason. Some cpu's do not benefit as much as others do.

Anyway to get this mod working without the use of java arguments? Currently using the Technic launcher and they don't appear to have that functionality built in.
No forge doesn't like base minecraft edits, and the only way that forge will load the game is with the arguments, However you should complain to the devs of the launcher, because adding a place where you put start up arguments is really easy to do.

Abandenz is there any way to know if you have the mod installed correctly? You know besides a possible boost in fps.
If you post your startup log I can point out where it shows the mod getting loaded, once 1.7.2 mcp comes out im going to re release all versions that should hopefully make it more clear that its loaded.
