Hello and welcome to the Better Than Minecraft Modpack!!!
What is it? The BTM Modpack is a modpack that improves on the default Minecraft experience without adding any blocks or items meaning that all of the mods would be client side and therefore fully multiplayer compatible without the server having to have any mods. All the mod packs today are way too complicated (not that I don't enjoy playing with them) but this modpack is very simplistic!
Great, now how do I get it? (Sorry for complicated instructions, 1.6.2 changed the way mods are installed)
1) Backup Everything!
Backup your .minecraft in case something goes wrong or you want to keep your current Minecraft separate from BTM, to do this cut and paste your .minecraft folder to somewhere safe. If you don’t know how to find your .minecraft folder look here .minecraft 2) Install a Fresh Copy of the Game!
Open up your minecraft launcher and install a fresh copy of the current version. 3) Download BTM!
Download BTM v1.0 for 1.6.2 clients here: BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2 4) Install Forge
Open the BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2.zip you just downloaded with an archiving program like 7-Zip and drag the forge.jar to your desktop and open it with Java and install client. 5) Create Your BTM Profile! 1) Open Explorer and go to C:\Users\"Put Your Profile Name Here"\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions. 2) Find the "1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.791" folder and rename it "BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2", then open it. 3) Find the two files "1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.791.jar" and "1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.791.json" and rename them both to "BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2". 4) Now open the .json file with a text editor, find
"id": "1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.791",
and replace it with
"id": "BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2",
6) To Root!
Go back to your .minecraft folder and drag the contents of the "toRoot" folder in the BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2.zip to your new .minecraft folder. 7) To Jar!
Go back to the BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2.jar that we renamed earlier and open it with 7-Zip or another archiving program. DELETE META-INF! Drag the contents of the "toJar" folder in the BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2.zip to the BTM_Client_v1.0_1.6.2.jar 8) DONE!
Enjoy the improved default Minecraft experience you just installed! 9) Optional: Don't like one of the mods? Disable it.
Go to the .minecraft/mods folder and delete it or move it to some other folder.

He's currently "fixing" (as in fixing, making it look like he didn't forget the permissions) the credits.
The credits were there when I posted this but I edited something and all of it appeared as HTML script so I had to redo them, sorry. I do have permission for everything in this pack, I am a coder myself and I would hate it if someone used my code without permission.

But, you really shouldn't package the Faithful resource pack with it. Also, I don't think AtomicStryker allows his mods to be packaged without meeting specific requirements. But don't quote me on that.

Indeed, he basically gives permission if at least one of the mods in the pack is made by the creator of the pack. If one does not meet this (and other) standard(s), you should send him a friendly PM. Quoting him ''I have yet to say no to someone that asked friendly''.
I already told you guys I have permission for everything including dynamic lights, AtomicStryker told me that I could use his mods.
Lay off the man, if he says he has perms... then he has the perms. Cant you guys just enjoy the things that people do for other people. He didn't have to throw together this modpack, but he choose too. For you. Now please just install this modpack and be happy.And can someone please do a video on how to install this? I would love to play with it but cant quite figure out how to get it installed.
