So with Minecraft 1.6.1 horses were added (obviously) and your first thought may be "Awesome!" but then you realize how hard saddles are to obtain, which stinks. That's why I made this mod! It is a simple mod that adds one recipe:

interesting. Unfortunately, it's going to be overshadowed by the craftable horse mod. I wish people made more accessories for horses like having plows to help with farming, or a wagon to transport more stuff than what's in their inventory. That would be AWESOME SAUCE.

I see what you mean. I just wanted a way to make saddles. If you give me a list of stuff I could try to make a separate mod that would make horses even better.
Sure I got a few ideas for you. I'll even give you images of a few ideas I had and hoping people would make. Give me just a minute I will make a couple of trunk examples of my idea for you. I hope this would help your mod out. The only problem I had with horses is if you go to a totally different area and with their inventory... when a horse dies, the inventory goes with it. Which was not told on any wiki or whatever. So, it would be nice to have a seperate wagon for stuff because accidents could happen. Best not to loose everything with the horse. BRB.

Well that's kind of stupid. I'm going to try to find out how to make a new entity file for the horse so that I can do things like make it drop it's inventory and be able to pull plows and wagons.
edit 2: Forget about the whole inventory dying thing. I was basically still holding the items when my horse died. Which is my mistake while reading the wiki.
Oh I got the recipes for you- since the objects don't exist, I had to use cloth in place of that. Don't let anyone take this idea for equipment to try out.
The top left makes the harness. The bottom left makes the connection between the harness and the cart.
And on the right side are the carts. You can make them wooden or other material if you like, but it makes a cart that can roll on land. The top one is the storage cart and the bottom makes the carrier cart. For transporting people on land. An alternative to the mine cart and tracks, but not as fast.
You have to craft the wheel for the cart which is the top left, bottom left is the plow.
The top right is a failed idea, it's suppose to be a horse caller, but a lasso in the game could do the job anyway if you tie them somewhere.
Okay an the last part is making the full equipment for the horse to attach it. Top left is for the riding cart equipment for the horse. The bottom left is for storage cart. and than finally the plow.
Well I hope these blue prints help you out on increasing your mod to be more useful. I'll come back if I figured out anymore horse equipment.

These are all good ideas, but I may tweak them a little if I can find out what the heck I'm doing (I can't really do entities that aren't alive yet all that well). If I did get this to work I would have the harness, wagon, and the link all put together in a crafting recipe to make one item that could be attached to the horse. I might get rid of the mob-transport wagon entirely, and the plow would be a completely different attachment that would look similar to the wagon recipe but it would use an iron hoe in the recipe. Also this may be delayed even further since I am still trying to figure out how to mod in 1.6.1.
Here are the crafting recipes that I have come up with:
Wheel:
Connector:
Wagon (may change texture since it looks gawky in-game):
Plow:
If you have any suggestions let me know!
(And don't take these ideas either!!!)
Wow this is good. I don't mine the adustments. I also have some other ideas, and different ideas for doing the armor. I know the craftable horse armor mod is impressive, but too easy for infinite armour for horses. It should be more involved to make infinite armor and a new additional horse armour that would make your mod a bit more valuable if you want to know. I even got horse decoration ideas for making a full stable. If you're interested. I agree with the wagon part to. I think this is a more interesting involved idea that what I created. BRB I am gonna give you more recipe ideas.

Let's take this one step at a time... I am still trying to figure out how to only make entities only spawn when you click on a certain entity, and I haven't even STARTED programming the wagon and plow, but if you want to give me block ideas I can probably do that, but if they involve having to use a custom model, then it may take longer to make.

Sure! Since this game has taken a new step with modding. I understand that it takes time, but I still would like to give you the ideas, just for something to work with in the future. I have this thing that I have ideas, but if I don't know them down, give it to someone else quickly, or hold them in for myself. I'll forget them for good. I already don't know where I put the first Ideas I gave you in my world, but atleast you'll get credit for it and I don't mind.
Here's some more ideas for you. You are free to edit this anyway you like. I believe after this, I will have no more ideas to give you. I reached my limit. These ideas just like the one you had earlier can be edited or omitted for your mod. I just make ideas.
The first image is a more involved crafting process for the horse armor. Since their armor is infinate, the making process should be more involved. From left to right,
(1) Melting Process: Melt Iron, Gold, or Diamond (don't ask.. I know that's the most nonesensable process but you are free to edit when ever you get to this. It makes the liquid version of that.
(2) Making Metal Sheet: With a crafting table, arrange the metal liquid like so on a crafting table to make a sheet of metal.
(3) Creating Iron Chain: (Didn't think this one through, it could be done on a crafting table) But, using one iron plate in a furnace makes the iron bars. (You could just use the iron bars originally in the game, if you don't want to create a whole new iron chain. Iron chains would be cool to make chained Armor or even chained horse armor. There's another idea there... I thought I ran out)
(3) Crafting Horse Armor: This is arranged differently. Unlike most recipes that only do the top this recipe is like looking above the Armour. Requires 4 sheets of metal, 2 metal chains (or bars) and the craftable saddle to finally make the horse armour. I think this process of number of bars needs is probably 16 . If you think this recipe is too hard, you may edit it to your liking.
Craftable Leather Horse Armor:
This can have a crafting recipe to make a thinner leather or just use the regular leather in the game. The recipe is similar except it makes a leather armor. 3 dies added would make dyed horse armor. However, the color variation is lesser than a humans.... unless you really want to do all 64 colors.... knock yourself out, but I just put in the basic 9 colors.
Decorating Ideas:
They're just stable decoration ideas. Nothing more. You don't have to make or you can make them if you like.
Top Left: Horse or Donkey Gate
Top Right: Horse Shoe decoration
Bottom Left: Hay Troth Decoration
Bottom Right: Water Troth Decoration

That;s cool. Good luck with the current ideas, you're free to trash them anyway or use them. I'm pretty much fresh out. See ya later.
I have a general over all misc mod I am working on releasing with my mod pack for 1.6.1 (forge), so if you want to merge this with what I already have, it could be a good mix. Especially wit the wooden carts and plows. Looks neat!

A few things: I don't want you to "merge" this into one of your mods, but if you want to include it in your mod pack you may. Honestly I'm not the best at coding so who-knows-when the plows will be released, and when they are it will be in a separate mod. So basically if you do want to put this in your mod pack you will just be getting the saddle crafting recipe, but once I release the other mod you can but that in your mod pack as well.
