Yes, but they will be more complex to code than any of the other plants. They will require overriding the target of any mob that comes into range, and setting the target to itself, and could potentially overload the client if there are too many walnuts. I would rather get most of the simple plants done so that I can then go back and add more complex plants.
I am sorry for all the dalays everyone. Forge is having some issues, and the only build out is the 'Latest' which is SUPER bugy. Guess I am going back to 1.5.2 development until a recommended release.....

Instead of that, I actually created normal crops in which you can harvest the Plant. Later I will see if I could do this. Shouldnt be too hard, I dont think...

The code will be tricky, but I will see waht I can do one I get basic day and basic night plants done.
