This whole mess is a huge disapointment! How much would it have cost to fix at least the launcher, zephyrs and broken moas so players could continue to play? Instead of that just broken promises! I suggest to just release the source so somebody else can take over!
Im looking at you Master AtomicStryker, bold saviour of poor, abandoned mods!
Whereas AtomicStryker is good with modding, he rips your throat out and burns it with copyright problems. He asks far more than anyone else I have ever seen and gives most people very little chance. The Aether team, on the other hand, is probably the friendliest modding group I've ever found. With all the people trying to use 1.6.4...I'd have exploded.
I know this is a bit off the wall, have you guys thought of making an item to increase your stamina (kind of like life shards for health) because I've yet to find something to do anything of that sort and I burn through stamina like no other that I know (p.s. if it's already been asked sorry for a repeat, I'm not taking the time to scan 278 pages worth of posts, and if it's been considered then I'm sorry for bugging you)

Actually an interesting idea. If you'd mind explaining it again, you should post it on our suggestions forum.

Is it really that hard for one of the developers to log on to their Facebook page and post a quick update like 'Progress is happening' or something similar!? It would only take like 5 minutes!

I could easily do that, yes. And for a more personal update, direct to you, progress is happening. But what else is there to share? It's been less than two months since we announced the Mutation update and people assume that everyone's stopped working. If you heard about a game announcement and then didn't hear anything for two months would you assume the studio was disbanded or everyone got up and left?

Quick question, who all is actively working on the mod? And is the standalone game still in production?

Suggestion: could you release developmental versions, like mojang's snapshots, for this mod? I know it would mean we would have to wait longer for the initial release, but at least we get to try out some of the new features. I CAN'T WAIT for this new update, it's gonna be so awesome!!!!!

Not really because modding is nowhere near as difficult as game design itself
But couldn't you atleast tell us what is currently going on, like is this mod finished and is currently in the last phase (bug testing) , what is giving you the most difficulty, what are you working on currently, whats holding you back from releasing this mod right now...
Internal bug testing is happening as we finish the additions that are coming with Mutation, there are still a few more things that are being worked on and thrown into this update. Going into your questions about what's giving the most difficulty and what we're working on specifically, can't say, don't want to spoil the update for you.
The reason it's not out yet is because this isn't going to feel like an alpha after this update. As we've said, this is a beta update, and it's going to feel like it. We're trying to make it as bug free as possible (no more random crashes from Tracking Golems) so the only thing making you feel that the mod is incomplete is it missing a couple dungeons, which will of course be added in the future.
A lot of people have asked for a "rough estimate" of a release date, and I wish I could give one, but there's just no telling how long it's going to take to finish up Mutation. All I can say with some certainty is that you will see it out sometime this year, which I know isn't helpful at all, but it's something, eh?... Also don't hold me to that, I don't want to be quoted in 2015.
We know it's hard waiting with the incredibly little info that's been released, people ask similar questions to yours everyday, and as hard it is for me to see these questions going unanswered, just know the wait is worth it.
tl;dr Stuff's still being worked on and there's still no estimated release.
I appreciate your answer. I am actually studying computer science so i know just how difficult it is what you're doing, and I really respect the team for it. That's why i really didn't want to bug you, but this mod is just so amazing, i couldn't hold back. Really am looking forward to it. I'm hoping to play it soon(probably the most hated word on this thread lol).
No, please, feel free to bug. It is my job, after all.

Feel free to do whatever you want whenever you want with these update, but it is a wee bit frustrating I can't get this 1.6.2 mod to work on a 1.6.4 server.

Odd question, i know that the reason it takes so long has to do with adding stuff, but how hard would it be to simply recompile the 1.6.2 version for 1.6.4 to hold us over? I mostly ask this because i'm currently at a fork between choosing Tropicraft (1.6.4, no 1.6.2 version) or aether (1.6.2 but no 1.6.4)

If the cake is a lie........ does that mean if i build a house out of cake my house isn't real?
Your sense of style is pathetic , I always look to java programers for style , because where ever they are , they always have .class.
Read the FAQ for that one.

Work on a 1.6.4 update is happening right now and we'll begin porting to 1.7 after its release.

basically, they are mojang working on a new update. It's just as hard.
