Its okay, I get that, but one more thing, can you do that repairing on anvil will not cost levels? cuz it takes alot, or at least do so you can repair in a crafting table. Im talking about before they are defective (redstone dust)
How about the boots give speed, the legs give jump height, the chestplate gives strength, the helmet gives night vision, and the full set can give resistance. You get the temporary effects from activating the armor with a certain key perhaps. I'm not quite sure how one would activate it.

I was thinking that you could give them some sort of ability that gave you fire resist and/or lit mobs on fire when they hit you. That's a passive thing and should save time. Just have it take one dust every time it lights them. Just a thought.
You could even take a look at the Modular Powersuits mod by MachineMuse (forum link:http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1636785-070-534-machinemuses-modular-powersuits-updated-for-152/) for ideas. He's got a neat system and you might enjoy the example.
Also, I wanted to say that I LOVE this mod. It's simple, not OP, and fun. I personally dislike mods that add ores/worldgen because it makes the game too noisy. This mod is balanced well and pleasantly configurable. Props to you man!
Well, I wanted them to have redstone abilities. I just not sure how they would be activated. Perhaps by a key?
What abilities do you have in mind?
like someone mentioned already, it would be cool if the boots have a higher jump and no fall damage leggings give speed but i dont think flight would be useful cause its more fun to jump around and to activate any of the abilities maybe it only activates if you have all the pieces of armor on and if you have redstone blocks in your inventory for power just to keep the redstone theme going lol maybe the chest plate gives fire protection and the helm i have no idea i guess night vision too like someone mentioned before
or better yet the leggings should give the ability to double jump and i was wondering if you could suggest resources that i can look at to learn how to make mods (need something to learn in my spare time) i would really appreciate it
I think the armor's special ability shouldn't consume redstone at all. It would be nicer having some less OP ability, and not having to turn it on and off with a key (which would be completely useless) than having all these potion effects all the time. Especially if you use other mods with keys as well, for example FTB.

I am also a bit hesitant to use keys as well, for compatibility issues. Right now the armor does have an ability - better defense. I could substitute this for less powerful, but passive versions of the abilities above if I can figure out how to do so.
I would suggest making the breaking of bedrock configurable. Bedrock keeps you from falling into the void, and having an unbreakable block on a server may be unwise.
EDIT: Just saw the video and saw Bedrock was configurable. Sorry
Just to be 100% sure, to install this I open my jar file, in winrar of course, in the forge version directory and just unzip the mod zip file into it?
I'm taking that just placing the mod in the mods folder doesn't work?

Just placing the .zip into your mods folder should actually work. I literally just found out you could do that XD, so I'm going to update the installation instructions. But, yes, the way you described is also a valid method of installation. Just make sure you only do one or the other, not both.
Hey, I love the idea of this mod, and you've done a better job on it than most mod authors would. Thank you.
There are two things I'd change though:
1. Make the number of blocks needed to create and repair tools editable. See, I'd like to make them take stacks of redstone blocks. For example, the default drill recipe is _R_ RRR _D_. I wanted to make it _40R_ 40R40R40R _D_ to indicate that it takes 4 stacks of 40 redstone blocks to make it. I would also set it's power cost to zero. In this way, I'd be making so that I have to invest a great portion of redstone into the tool, like charging a battery. Then I wouldn't have to carry about 23 stacks of redstone dust around to get the full amount of uses out of the tool. The repair recipe would need to be changed too.
I think that if all the items and armor worked like this, it would solve coming problems. I mean, once you give the armor powers, if I had the full set and a tool and sword, I'd have to carry a LOT of redstone to really get to use it all. The redstone investment model makes more sense to me. (Actually, you could go as far as adding redstone batteries that would need to be crafted to make the tools instead of the redstone blocks, if you like the idea.)
2. I wanted to make the drill take out blocks of 3x3 similar to the function of the spade. In this OP mode, I would also at least double the redstone build cost that I outlined above. This isn't as important to me as #1, but it would be cool and help me a lot as I try to clear out those pesky hills.

this is an awesome mod, I think their should also be a cheap recipes option. (uses diamonds where diamond blocks are in expensive recipies) and perhaps, a fireball cannon/portable dispenser? mueheheh......XD
This is nice, and cool. But other than being cheap for filling up, what advantages do these tools have over the ones that industrialcraft offers? I also agree with previous people. Diamond blocks do sound a little expensive. I'd like to suggest using a single iron block and a single diamond in each recipe, that might make things easier. Or possibly you could add a config for it like gregtech does with a "hardcore mode" and an "easy mode" that would probably make everybody happy.
I agree completely.
And this looks an awesome mod, I will try it out and maybe do a mod showcase on it.
I like this mods idea, and it reminds me of the song "Redstone Active"
I'll see what I can do

And you can make a flght ability for the chestplate! like a jetpack or something
