I have never gotten the stairs to emit a redstone signal, no matter what kind of redstone "block" I use on them. =/
They did at one time. I corrected the bug and will push in next release.
beckyh2112 - Redstone propagation only works if the blocks are full cubes, and only one block mind you (unless you do the vertical redstone torch trick). Not my thing, it's just how vanilla code works.
I have an idea, why not set an extra option for the pressure plates so that only villagers can toggle them. That way, then can still use the custem doors

This is what I've been longing to do, so that they can get along with Minecraft Comes Alive and Custom NPCs!
You'll find one new block: the Carpenter's Ladder. It works much like the vanilla ladder, except it also has a free-standing configuration. And, as usual, adjacent ladders will connect.
Other than that, a couple bug fixes were also pushed.

From what I remember when playing with Villagers a long time ago, they would gather at the doors from the inside at night. Unless that's been corrected since then, wouldn't they accidentally let zombies into the home with this type of configuration? Do none of the current trigger options work for villagers?
AHH LADDERS YES, sorry for the all caps but in my eyes this mod now has everything i could ever want in home design in minecraft, paired with painter's flower pots of course
Only one issue, the instructions say you can recover a color by shift-left-clicking a block with the hammer, but this makes the cover block pop out and destroys the color.
I don't mind that the dye is destroyed since they're usually a dime-a-dozen, but I'd prefer if the cover didn't pop out and that the instructions are correct!
Like you can see in the url of the folder : Carpenter's Blocks v1.86 - MC 1.6+.zip [Forge 9.10.0.789]
But I had this problem with the pevious versions where the bed was.
Not sure. I tried copying the design_6 folder, renamed it to design_7, changed the texture, and it loaded just fine in the game. Ensure you're following instructions exactly.

It works as described, but after testing just now I did notice it's trying to do this behavior on the client as well as the server. It should be server-only, so I will push a hotfix soon.
Is there any way for a user to add quilt patterns to the bed, the way we can add patterns for the chisel to use on blocks?

[Scott]: Things I have managed to get in the last five minutes, in order of ascending importance: cobblestone, planks, lapis lazuli, redstone, gold, coal, diamond. VERY LOST.

Yes if you go into the zip there's a readme file in "mods or assets/carpentersblocks/textures/blocks/bed/" You'll find a bunch of "design_X" folders - just copy one, increment the number, and add your own pillow.png, blanket.png or both.
Stop using Mcpatcher then.

I don't think that is the problem here, but I will try that out.
This mod was not designed with the intent to work flawlessly with MCpatcher. So this does not surprise me that it does not work.
Oh, I was thinking the problem was forge universal being a .jar instead of a .zip, so I was going to try to fix that.

Edit: Smart Moving Installed Ladders dont work.
No Smart Moving and ladders work
Possibly, which version are you using?

Amazing work!

And, regarding chests: probably not. They even have lid opening animations and double-chest code - I'll leave it to the Mojang team.
