First not sure why you said you will let him know, you don't know him. Second thom666 posted the issue on this thread thus letting mineshopper know. Third I am mineshoppers roommate so I let him know what thom666 said and Mineshopper said he will look into it sometime today or tomorrow.
What I meant by "letting him know" was messaging him, which I forgot to do, so thank you for doing that.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
Not sure if this was intentional or not, but zombies will gather around the carpenter's doors at night, but cannot break them. It's almost as if the zombies knows where the doors are, it is just impossible for them to break them. If this isn't a bug and intended, than just ignore it. I really feel like these doors should be brokenable by zombies also, even if its made to look like the walls or cobblestone. I put 2 doors down, one vanilla and one carpenters to test this theory out. It results in a true statement everytime. The house with normal doors will be kicked down, and the house with carpenters doors are always ignored. Both houses do have villagers in them to attract the zombies at night.
That error doesn't really lay blame anywhere. Perhaps the zip file was corrupt?
That may be possible. When I dl'd the v 1.77, there were two options for that file and I chose the one on top..I will try the other and see if that solves the issue. Thank you for your timely reply.
FOLLOW UP- My sincerest apologies, after going back to your dl page I noticed that the top version I mentioned earlier is for 1.5+ and the bottom one is for 1.6+.. brain fart on my part. I guess I was in too much of a rush to dl this awesome mod that I overlooked the MC version tags....
FOLLOW UP TO MY FOLLOW UP- DL'd v.177 MC1.6+, replaced v.1.7 and no crash on start up. Lesson to self and others..pay closer attention, lol
I love this mod. It is probably one of the absolute best mods out there. We use it all the time.
Is there a chance we could get signs added? Hating the fact we are stuck with oak signs. I know it is a little different because of the entity.
Thanks for all your hard work!
I just mentioned this to Mineshopper a few minutes ago. Someone had tweeted this idea to me. He is currently thinking about it. Thank you for the suggestion!
This is one of my favorite mods, the chisel is very useful cause I can turn any kind of wool into bricks or something similar! And now door aren't flat uninteresting panels of wood...
Hi MineShopper, I did a mod showcase on this mod. This is a amazing mod and really lets creative builders go to work with it. Awesome job on this mod, I really enjoy the possiblities you can do with it. Anyway here is a mod review I did, hope you like it!

Thanks for the review, i must point out many of the features of this mod were not included which made me a little sad however i appreciate what you did show.
(i.e. Dyed blocks, different hatch's, different fence styles, different gate styles, changing how redstone works with blocks by using the hammer, and much more)

Been a while. Things lookin great here. I'm finally able to get working on updating the Sphax texture patch for Carpenter's Blocks. I'm currently testing in 1.5.2 and am running into an issue. Following the new folder structure, when I load into the game EVERY texture says it's missing. Not sure what i'm doing wrong.... I better go check the folders again just to be sure.
Updated sphax textures will be released as soon as I fix this problem.
edit - Yeah found the problem, the old internal name was "CarpenterBlocks" and the new 1.7+ system uses "carpenterblocks" why does minecraft have to be so nit-picky about caps......
Im trying to setup a 1.6.2 Forge Server, and are having problems installing Carpenters 1,77 for 1.6+
but my server crash after i install.
i have tryed to read the crash report and find a reason but with no luck.
do you have any idea why its crashing?
here is the crash report:
I noticed your zip file is named "Carpenter's Blocks v1.77 - MC 1.6+ (1).zip." Ensure you only have a single copy in the mods folder. As for the crash, it's crashing on a method I don't use, so it's likely something else causing the problem.
I right clicked on the damn block with the chisel, what's incorrect about that X_X
You mentioned you added custom textures, which is why I'm focusing on that. If you didn't add custom textures, then a full Forge log will help us get to the root of the problem.

I did it to follow convention, and also because when MC 1.6 was first released it had issues with mixed casing.
Current Progress: For the past two days I've been trying to work on one final thing - side render checks. Bleh! I may just end up releasing the update with imperfect checks because I'm not sure I can adequately solve the issue in a reasonable amount of time.
Oh my gosh, I just thought of something - why not add support for Chickenbone's Forge Multipart by adding cut up carpenter's blocks, fully able to be interacted with? That could be something great. It's a bit of a problem to add every single block ID that you want to have be able to be cut to the configuration file.

As simple as it sounds, implementing something that like in code could be a nightmare. I'm already wrapped up in doing rendering code changes at the moment and it's a beast.

yea, only had one copy of it,
found out what other mod caused the crash together, it was [1.6.2]MonsterSpawnHighlighter-v1.4.1.20 so i removed it

If more information is needed i will gladly provide it.
Thanks, I'm able to reproduce this on v1.8 by destroying a slope with an axe. It may or may not be similar, but I will post the fix for v1.8.
EDIT: v1.8 downloads patched to correct crashing on block destruction.
EDIT2: For those wondering, I loaded up my server world from v1.77 and it retained all my patterns. I guess the conversion code just "works," so I removed the note from the download section.
Thanks for the topic, downloaded the mod and I'm gonna love it.

If you have patterns in your v1.76+ world, they will disappear. I put in conversion code for versions prior to that, but didn't want to mess with two layers of conversion code, sorry. My datatypes are easily expandable now, so this shouldn't be a problem again in the future.
This update brings a lengthy changelog, but the biggest change is that side covers are now independent from the host block, and can have their properties removed by sneak left clicking with the hammer. Also note that the vanilla gate and barrier subtypes are selected by sneak right clicking with the hammer. Plus, doors and hatches can now have their redstone-activation requirement altered by sneak right clicking any door piece with the hammer.
Since I changed a lot of code for this update, some bugs I haven't noticed yet may crop up - as usual, let me know.
Fantastic, I mean fantastic work.
I love it.
