This looks awesome. I saw somewhere that it's Mystcraft compatible. Is that true? Because that would be even more awesome!
It is mystcraft compatable on SP and the gate will dial up and link on mp but then the server crashes when you go thru it but that has nothing to do with mystcraft (that i am aware) since it crashes on the overworld as well
ya a server fix would be amazing love them mod but kind of pointless on sp if you ask me more of a server kind of thing personally

Assuming greg's reading this topic, it's crashing because you can't do entity.SetVelocity() on a server - for whatever inane reason, the server version of Entity doesn't contain that method. You need to set motionX/motionY/motionZ individually. I tried patching this and it worked fine.
You also need to implement transferStackInSlot in your container so that shift-clicking in the stargate GUI doesn't crash the client.
Ok that's cool but if you ever get around too putting the ring elevates in that wood be beyond cool, well if you say have a house floating just below the block limit that is.

what did you do to set the motion file i know a little coding and am looking at the file just not proficiant at java but really would like to fix the problem for my server i would ask for the working file but i dont want to make the developer angry alltho he might not be since it is open source.......idk

Awesome mod, it's the first one where I can recall that there is actually a stargate in it. Hopefully this won't die or have no progression, it would really be a shame.
on friday i grabbed the source code and set up the forge 524 enviroment, but when loaded into eclipse there were many errors in the code as far as eclipse was concerned, i couldnt even run it in eclipse my plan had been to find the unobfuscated error and see if i could fix it (im a novice at modding and so far have only created one mod and its a pretty simple one lol)
If you could link to the fix (even if its just the fixed file that has to be put into the archive) that would help many of us out. If there was an issue with my mod i know i would not mind people posting a fix. i know each dev is different, eloraam for example doesnt even allow decompiling for personal use, but this dev has been on the forums as recently as yesterday am (click the username and you can see last log in) so is aware of the issues but does not seem to care in regards to smp (no issue with that some people just play ssp and this is after all a pre release) i dont think we will get a fix just by waiting as we would have it by now specialy if its a simple one when you factor in how beautiful this mod is in terms of gui and animation

he just didn't update it here check his site and he updated it on minecraft forge i also got an email from him back with replys to some of my suggestions and even sent him your horizontal (alltho i agree) stargate idea and he is looking into it
in the config folder there is a file (forget the full name) sgcraft something. all the block and item ids are in there. (all mods have this file its always good to check them out as often theirs additional settings )
always a good idea to dump your free and used block and item IDs from nei too when you're fixing conflicts.
but anyway, not a stargate fan at all, but this is awesome, nice attention to detail too.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
yeah Greg_Ewing has made a fantastic mod, the dialing sequence is awsome.
it's just not really the type of sci-fi i enjoy to be honest, it's like the old deep space 9 vs enterprise thing, they just don't cater to the same audience.
fan or not though, stargates are probably the single coolest rotary telephone metaphors ever dreamed up.
