Fishing Craft Adds more rods, fish, plants, and more!
This mod is designed to increase the variety of fish as well as further develop tvhe fishing in Minecraft. Currently this mod adds 12 new fish. Please report any bugs you find. Comments and feedback are welcomed heavily. The mod currently does not have sever support. That will come in a future update.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed bug where wooden fishing rods were crafted with half the amount of default uses.
Included image file so bobbers will render correctly.
Fixed bug where weeds would not immediately dissapear when not attached to block.
Other:
Significantly reduced spawning rate of weeds.
Added all items to the ore dictionary.

Added goldfish, which have a chance of being caught in swamps when using frog eggs as bait.
Added red-bellied piranha and peacock bass, which can be caught in the jungle.
Added fish morsels as bait, which can be crafted from tuna strips.
Added frog eggs as bait, which can be collected from weeds.
Added a new underwater weed block, which spawns in rivers and swamps.
Bug Fixes:
Finished the fishing rod mechanisms, allowing baited fishing rods to take damage.
Fixed an issue where you could not bait damaged rods

Rewrote multiple class files for organization purposes.
Moved the fishing location of pike to tundra rivers.
Added the tool breaking sound when the wooden rod snaps.
You can now see what bait is on your hook when you cast your rod.

If there is no fish to catch in an area, the bobber will not bob (Before this change only a carp would bite where other fish didn't).
Moved the fishing location of carp to forests.
Added the ability to see what bait is on your rod by hovering the mouse over the item.
Temporarily removed Lots Of Food compatibility.
Added mcmod.info file.
Almost all fish require bait now.
Removed Squid fix.

Fixed bug where carp can be caught with bluegill in the ocean.
Fish Behavior Pay very close attention to this section, as it will give you clues on where to fish. Each type of fish has a different behavior relative to minecraft biomes and objects. Catfish tend to hang around in shaded, shallow regions of swamps, but sometimes come out during rainy days. They are caught with worms or frog eggs. Salmon are found roaming rivers of mild-temperature areas when using worms as bait. Bluegills and Goldfish are found commonly in swamps when using worms or frog eggs as bait, and Carp are found commonly... well, everywhere. The rarest of the fish are the Suckerfish, which are found near weedy river banks. Bass are found in mild-temperature rivers, but are only caught with worms. Small Piranahas can be caught when fishing in Jungle rivers by using a fish morsel as bait. Peacock Bass are caught in Jungle rivers when using Small Piranhas as bait. Pike are found in cold rivers, and are caught by using Bluegills as bait. Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna, currently the only deep sea fish, are caught by using Bluegills as bait.

Cooking The player has a chance of catching a disease if eating raw fish. You must cook the fish or fish meat to receive full hp benefits. Eating a raw or cooked fish will also produce fish bones, which you can craft into bonemeal.
Bait Certain kinds of bait can be obtained to help catch fish.Worms can be found in weedy areas of swamps during a downpour. Bluegill can be fished out of swampy water spots. Frog Eggs can be found in weeds. Fish Morsels can be crafted from fish meat.

You have just created a mod that improves on one of my favorite things to do in minecraft. It's downloaded and as soon as I try it out I will be back with my feelings on it.

I have to really thank you guys for the positive feedback so far. Keep on fishin'!
One thing I just realized however is that I made a mistake when assigning the ids of the added items. This update fixes the issue.
I went ahead and uploaded this as soon as I realized the problem, because otherwise this update would cause some compatibility issues (item ids changing, thus items disappearing, ect). Before you get too involved with this mod, please update to v1.0.1.
What I ALSO forgot to mention was that fish are now a source of bonemeal. Eating a cooked or raw fish will grant you fish bones, which in turn and be crafted into bonemeal. I understand bonemeal is getting nerfed, but... meh.
I am so happy that someone has done this mod right for once, In about 3 videos we have been talking about a good fishing mod. This took the #1 place. I made a mod review of this mod, feel free to use it in your post. Also keep up the awesome work and hope you keep updating this.
Yay! Finally another updated fishing mod :). Definitely going to check this out. Maybe you could make it so that some of the food gives special abilities?
I like this mod! Just a few mods modify fishing and you did a great job.

Alright so after playing around with this a bit I have to say that I love it. Though it would be nice if worms could be found in other biomes. Even if they can only be found during the rain I still wish they weren't located only in swamps as it does make them a tad inconvenient if you aren't near a swamp, like me. But other than that I think everything so far is spot on and are all wonderful improvements.

Great job looks like tons of fishing fun . Are you planning on adding fish that swim around with their own custom models and AI instead of just the fish inventory item?

I wanted to make finding worms a semi-hard challenge, but I might add them to other biomes in the future.

I was planning on adding a way for the user to capture fish and then place fish in water, which would spawn models of the fish.
Fishing wise, I MIGHT add models, but I don't want players jumping into the water swinging their swords at fishies.
If this mod can expand to something about fishery, it will be better!
For examples, putting a cage inside the deep sea and catch some crabs or lobster.
However it may not just about fishing anymore.
And I hope that you can add eel in the mod.
This really improves and makes fishing much more fun in Minecraft. Theres a couple mods that adds fishes like atmosmobs and witches and more mod, would be great if you could catch those fishes while fishing. Also, i'm using the Lots of food mod and it adds a few fishes you can catch while fishing, and I was wondering if this mod is compatible with that one. Anyway, thanks for a great mod and keep up the awesome work.
Sharing, rather than making them 'mobs' that you can swing a sword at, how about particle effects in the water?

That's exactly the type of thing that would make sense when fishing for larger, stronger fish. I'll keep this in mind.

Lol I might add sashimi and/or sushi in actually. Just... not in the way that you pick the fish out of the water and eat it right the and there. xD
