So what is the difference between 6.0 and 6.01 LE? OptiFine is required for verison 6.01 LE. Version 6.0 is a standalone vanilla mod.
Shape Shifter Z itself is a mod I started in December 2012 that allows you to turn into most creatures and has abilities, and most importantly supports 1.4.7 and will quickly get upgraded to 1.5. My primary publishing point is Planet Minecraft. When I started back in December, I didn't plan to do this but when I posted my original version people demanded more. I won't update this post rather follow me on original mod post or on my website.
Credit to Sylaek for having the original Shape Shifter. It was one of the first mods I installed on Minecraft. And we all miss the easy to use GUI he put together for selecting your shape, instead of the silly bones I used. I might let the GUI be the major difference because I like the survival aspect of requiring items to access the mods ability.
Known Issue: The two Special Bones that activate all the Mod's features look white. This is to increase texture pack compatibility, otherwise they are invisible. The non-optifine version does not have this bug. But it has the other bug, where if you use a texture pack the bones are invisible.
Description:
Once upon a time in a land far away there was a man with a bone. It was a purple bone and it let him turn into different things:
Then he realized he could make a greenish bone too. It let him spew fire balls, cover everything in cobwebs, and just generally wreck destruction depending on what form he was in:
This is really cool but how is it different from the original version?
I can't notice any differences in the description, so what's special about this LE version?
Great work dude, keep it up.

I am re-writing post a little bit, tell me if it is clearer what is going on.

Yeah, now it's easier to understand why it's LE.
Thanks for this awesome mod! Also, do you plan to add forge support?
EDIT: Uh... I deleted META-INF, installed Optifine first, but I still get stuck at done loading sign. Help?
Btw I'm using a fresh jar

Did you install ULTRA its only compatible with ULTRA and I will make this more obvious in the post.
I just did a force update my self, reinstalled OptiFine, then installed the ShapeShifter zip and it worked great. Make sure you aren't loading an old world that might be causing problems. Be sure to force update first.
I followed 100% of the instructions after force updating.
MC loads up fine, no done loading or any errors.
Only thing is, none of the mod items show up.
I must assume it's an installation problem or some other error, since I am unable to recreate the problem you describe. More things to consider: could be a language issue, make sure your minecraft is set to English US. Could be the "White bones" known issue - the special items look identical to the regular bone in the 6.01 LE version.
Try the 6.0 version too, just remember no OptiFine.
If anybody else sees this would appreciate feedback on installation success or failure.
Hiya Zacuke! I'm here to ask you somethign, can you do a Forge version of the mod? it's very mch easer making mods with forge (that's what I heard) and I VERY WANT to use this mod, It's AWESOME!!! so please do this for me but don't discontinues the non forge version for the players that can't use Forge. SIncerily, I WANT TO USE THIS MOD!!!
Mind making a version for forge? or atleast something that goes in the "mods" Folder? because i hate adding mods to my jar cause its a back breaking time to get them out. Or core mods folder.
Hey All, thanks for checking out my version of a Shape Shifter mod. I owe everything to my five year old son because without him I would never have tried to modify the Minecraft source code.
I don't have enough time to keep this post updated as well as Planet minecraft, so head on over there for updated info. Also I check PMC much more often so if you have any questions or comments post them there for quicker response.
As far as Forge compatibility, it is unlikely. I couldn't find any of the appropriate hooks to write a proper forge mod that drops into the mods folder. For me, it is much more difficult to figure out the forge way of doing things. However it was relatively easy for me to hack up the base source code. I do spend a little bit of time here and there reading about forge and trying to find some good tutorials, but there aren't that many.
After I get 100% done (all abilities) then I will think about adding new content and mobs to the game.
But I can't support several versions at once, it's just too much. I work full time (yes, programming job) and a single dad so really it's amazing I have accomplished anything.
SHAPE SHIFTER Z 6.0 Visit my website for a version that does not require Optifine See Planet Minecraft for original mod post.

Still not working.
Can you upload your minecraft.jar on dropbox or something?
Mine doesn't seem to want to work. :\
