Hi guys, I just made the switch to Forge Essentials and I was wondering if you could help me out with a permissions problem I have been facing. If a member of the owners group creates a warp point with /warp set mainland, and then someone from the members group tries to use /warp mainland, they are told that they do not have permission to use this command. A member of the owners group on the other hand can use /warp mainland successfully. The confusing bit is that the members group has B:ForgeEssentials.BasicCommands.warp=true. Am I using these commands correctly and is there a problem with my permissions.txt?
is a mod that allows you to load plugins bukkit server, in one of vanilla server
Is that the functioning of the mod?
Greetings
This mod is designed to run on a server that uses Minecraft Forge, and provide similar functionality to the popular Bukkit plugin, Essentials. It allows you to set permissions, use Economy features, protect areas of your server, set a MOTD, and much more. It doesn't let you load Bukkit plugins into a Forge server, but rather lets you use Forge/ModLoader mods and the Bukkit "Essentials" on the same server.
Now, for Spanish

Learn some Java before you mod, and skip over the chapter on ModLoader, straight to MinecraftForge. It's better. Trust me.
I tried to install Forge Essentials on my 1.5.1 server several times, but it does not work D:
If i restart the server after installing it stays down.
Help me pls D:
You probably don't have the correct version. None of the downloads on the minecraftforge page are for 1.5.1. You need the betas for that (which I believe are also linked on the OP).
Hi. I am currently running a FTB server and we are switching from using MCPC+/Forge/Bukkit combo to use just Forge mods. In doing so we will be using ForgeEssentials and MyTown to replace Essentials and Towny. MyTown requires PermissionsEx for the permissions, and ForgeEssentials runs its own permissions system. For now, my admin and I will deal with this double perms system complication, but we were wondering if it were possible for ForgeEssentials to use PermissionsEx at all? Or if there's a patch to make it work somehow. Would be a great feature. Thanks for the awesome Forge mod, and taking the time to read/respond to this.

Use the code "tssnmodpack" on the ATLauncher
Its really annoying me and the people on my server that it keeps asking them to create a login, I don't really see the benifit of the authorization plugin and would love it if someone would explain it to me.
also I cant see any way to disable it, i removed the .zip from the mod files and then the server didnt want to start and I looked in the .cfg and found nothing to disable it, right now so it doesnt bother my players I have it removed from their permissions and everything is running just fine and people still seem to have the greylist effect of not being able to break blocks untill they are added into a new group from guest.
edit:
would also like help on creating kits, I can't find where to make those or the syntax to make them

No, MyTown will at some point enable permissions of their own, they're just waiting for some unknown aspect of our API to be put in...
I am using the 1.2.1.272 version of forge essentials on a feed the beast ultimate pack server.
I have created a user group that has blockedit entitiy interaction and blockinteraction permissions, but they can't place blocks, unless given the override protections permission.
Is this just me configuring it wrong? Is there some setting I have missed?
Is there a listing of all the permissions that the game has i only find a few on the wiki and it shows how to make the members group but i need a moderators one so I dont know how to make a Group that specifically is made to do one purpose and that is Registering players as members so that they can build and arent guests, thats all, and currently you have to do that by via /p user group add Members and thats pretty much the only command that i want that group to have in order to get people in the server by using a trusted group of people? i figure the permissions command is fairly dangerous if someone messes with it... is there another way to go about this if not i just need to have the group made.
Is there a list of PlayerLogger commands available? I have this working fine and I'd like to give another group permission to use the /playerlogger get command besides myself (op). Can someone point me in the right direction?
Ok, I'm probably missing something simple here, but I cant set permissions that stick...
I log in as a non-op and I cant interact with the world. cant place blocks, cant use levers, cant talk to NPCs (using custom NPC) and even hostile vanilla mobs ignore me
tun on OP and set global permissions for members to allow interactions with blocks and entities
go back non-op and still cant place or interact.
I went into the config folder inside permissions and set it how I wanted, restarted server, same thing. looked inside the permissions config file and it said
# file from wich permissions should be imported
S:importDir=import
so I changed the /generated/ into "import"
restarted server, no change.
so I placed the permissions.txt inside the config folder itself and changed the config to say:
# file from wich permissions should be imported
S:importDir=permissions.txt
still nothing...
In short, I cant set permissions in game OR outside of game... suggestions?

Edit: I found out that in order to change permissions, you need to import them into the database. Noobs like me can find more information here:

No. Permissions is a core functionality. Without it no one can use any commands in the rest of the mod unless they're op.

This means MyTown will have the option of using ForgeEssentials perms mod instead of PeX some day?
Use the code "tssnmodpack" on the ATLauncher
They have the option already. We're just not sure exactly what they want from us before they do.
Use the code "tssnmodpack" on the ATLauncher
are just the new features unstable? I just need some basic world protection for my 1.5.1 server
