i have been having an issue with oreberry bushes. if i normally generate a world via minecraft launcher, they spawn underground where they're supposed to be. but if i create a world with worldpainter and let minecraft naturally generate trees and such, this happens..
if you'll notice that bush in the middle of the screen, it is a essence oreberry bush, which doesnt appear to have any actual use yet. the bushes generate all around my world like this.
I agree that should be possible to add more nuggets but I tested all the nugget types in my mod pack and not a single one works with the smeltery, and it should not be listed as nuggets if it does not actually allow nuggets. it should be shown as 0.5 instead of it saying 3 nuggets. because the math is way off. or as TDM said a milli-bucket setup.
I'm running into similar problems. While I don't mind the nugget/milibucket split, I have issues whenever I melt down oreberries and make alloys. Aluminum-brass in particular, is impossible to make even ingots (involving odd numbers) with the even number of nuggets this makes. This makes me wonder why not one nugget can be melted in the smeltery. Also why silver and lead don't work, but that's another matter. I'd like to make nuggets (craft an ingot) and melt them to make up mismatched amounts. Seems this would be an even easier fix than adding the nugget cast.
*edit* A recent update added lead, silver, ferrous, shiny, invar, and electrum. Consider that bit retracted.

Oh, I didn't think it was a bug, I thought maybe it was unintended behavior (because I know critters can ride on other critters). This is just the first time I've seen it in a normal world, instead of forced (like in Super Hostile or something.) I think it's pretty awesome, honestly.
Sigh... I have a problem with the smeltery. I constructed it like the book indicated (in fact, I built it exactly the same just to be sure), I melted down some iron ores.
However, when I put the faucet on (and yes, right clicked it), the molten metal does not drain, it stays in the smeltery.
So is something broken here or am I just an idiot?
Make sure you either have 9 iron ingots worth, and drain it into a casting basin (this will make a block of iron) or that you have a casting table with an ingot cast under the faucet (this will let you make individual ingots.)
I've been working on the drawbridge a bit, giving it a bit of love here and there. A few small changes, a bit of rotational data, and some redstone futzing made the whole thing pure awesome.
As if that wasn't enough, the drawbridge keeps its inventory and rotational data when you pick it up. You can place drawbridges full of drawbridges full of drawbridges.
ExodusDeath: No more bricks are planned right now. You could persuade me with some textures if you had other ideas...
Digger1699: 1.6.2 is lower priority than 1.5.2 is right now. Once I fix a few things, I'll port it forward.
Dmitri33: Oreberry bushes really like caves. They like them so much that they think the surface is a cave. Drop the height for them in the config.
Th3RadMan: Block IDs have a maximum value of 4095. 147163 is way too high.
AngelFeather: Blue slimes have a spawn weight in the config file.
raa1337: Report my special slime archers as bugs will ya?! You get the goo bomb!
XandrelAstraan: Ores have to be poured into casts or tanks. Casts are made with aluminum brass/gold.

can you give an image of your setup? it might be easier to see, if you forgot something, or if its really a bug.

wait what? thats just crazy. and pretty cool. you could place a drawbridge, that places a row of drawbridges, and those can build a wall?
Bug report:
Not sure if this is the newest version, but in direwolf20's pack, trying to make a 'bucket of Invar' (Invar from thermal expansion) crashes the game permanently... it causes a null pointer error saying that it is trying to put #21 in an array of 20. The game is unrecoverable (without deleting tinker's construct) Note: I also have KBI's recover tool installed, so I don't know if that has any effect. Want an error log? Or is this something you already have fixed or know about?
I know, I know, just don't make buckets of invar I was just trying to fix a goof up where I accidentally started draining liquid invar into a buildcraft tank instead of sending it to the liquid router and thus to my railcraft storage tanks. (I like to keep stuff molten until I need it... helps speed up making weapons for my army of utility mobs, can compact tighter than almost any other method (except AE or a swimming pool full of ender pearls), and enormous storage tanks look cool as hell in my 'refinery'.
Hey mDiyo, i found another bug. smelting Electrum dust from Thermal Expansion gives you Invar instead of Electrum. Also i have a few arrows in the floor that don't dissapear when picked up, and give me an bugged arrow if i don't have any of that arrow in my inventory.

Hey mDiyo, quick question. Would it be possible for your smeltery to conserve mass in its alloy recipes? Right now you insert two ingots (one of each alloy component) and get out one ingot of alloy. Basically, you get only half as much as you insert.
I admit to having a teensy bit of OCD and this irks me everytime I cook something up in the smeltery!
It's okay if you only make it a config option that defaults to off. But I think it would also improve cross-mod compatibility, as every other mod except for IC2 does conserve mass in alloy recipes. Forestry does, TE does, Redpower does (or did)... mindbogglingly enough, even GregTech does (except for bronze, which retains its IC2 recipe). If your smeltery universally conserved mass, it could receive all those alloy recipes from other mods and become a one-stop-shop solution for melting metals of every possible variety and combination.
If your fear that this might make some of your exclusive alloys (like manamana-manywaystomisspellit) too plentiful, you could always halve the amount of mB you get from smelting the ores. It shouldn't matter with cross-mod alloys like bronze because there's plenty of ways to get those in mass conserving recipes anyway.
Hey mDiyo, i found another bug. smelting Electrum dust from Thermal Expansion gives you Invar instead of Electrum. Also i have a few arrows in the floor that don't dissapear when picked up, and give me an bugged arrow if i don't have any of that arrow in my inventory.
I just tested it, yeah, electrum dust gives liquid invar. The funny part is, smelting gold and silver together give liquid electrum. hmmm....
Streetwind: Conservation of mass only applies to valuable alloys.
Anytime you melt-alloy two metals, you tend to get 'waste mass'. These are mass that are either burned off by the smelting process, (limestone) or discarded after the alloying process. While in the real world, materials leftover from smelting like tungsten are re-used or are valuable in their own right, in a virtual world like minecraft they are simply not considered useful, or are less than a 'nugget' (Or, in the case of the fantasy metals, perhaps they vaporised, returned to the nether, or were wasted in the 'magic' alloying process)
Remember, this is a game where you can, if you wish, carry around hundreds of cubic meters of gold in your pockets, smelt wrought iron out of rock in the same oven you cook bread in, move a stack of cubic meters of soil with a bit of red powder placed under an iron brick, beat a hunk of tree trunk out of a tree with your bare hands while leaving the rest of the tree floating in place, and fashion a diamond sword out of two gems and a stick. I don't see conservation of mass as being particularly immersion-breaking, and I definitely do not want to see the smelting value for the nether metals cut in half.
Hi, I'm playing the Direwolf20 pack for 1.5 currently.
How come turtles and fruit pickers can't harvest tinker's construct oreberries or natura berries?
Is there anything else that will gather berries besides manually right clicking them?
Looks like harvesters work fine though if you set the right options.
any plans to remove the vanilla recipes from MC when this mod installed?
The Line of B:"Remove Vanilla Tool Recipes"=false in the config (TinkersWorkshop.txt) might help if you change it from "false" to "true" and save the file.
thanks for confirming
also i just want to thank you for all your hard work, this is my favorite mod of all mods (you won over thaumcraft 3, good job!)

Oh, I didn't think it was a bug, I thought maybe it was unintended behavior (because I know critters can ride on other critters). This is just the first time I've seen it in a normal world, instead of forced (like in Super Hostile or something.) I think it's pretty awesome, honestly.
Make sure you either have 9 iron ingots worth, and drain it into a casting basin (this will make a block of iron) or that you have a casting table with an ingot cast under the faucet (this will let you make individual ingots.)
How come turtles and fruit pickers can't harvest tinker's construct oreberries or natura berries?
Is there anything else that will gather berries besides manually right clicking them?
Looks like harvesters work fine though if you set the right options.
The Line of B:"Remove Vanilla Tool Recipes"=false in the config (TinkersWorkshop.txt) might help if you change it from "false" to "true" and save the file.
