When I travel through the 'DD' and then return back, the door seems to get distroyed behind me.
Example:
In the over world I find 'DD' in Forest, when I go through it to explore it,
then after I am done, I start to return back home.
When I get to the Over World the 'DD' behind me seems to get destroyed and all I see is a rift.
Why does the door get destroyed.?
This seems to happen all the time no matter what door I come back from.
Hope it gets fixed
thx

on a possible unrelated sidenote can anyone identify that charcoal coloured construct off to the side? or at least know what mod its from..?

The example you mentioned are open rifts, or "one-time-doors". You can make them permament by putting a dimensional door or warp door right on top of the black cloud thingy (a closed rift).

A quick note: I'm still getting death/spawning issues on MCPC build 160 (newest release as of up to now).
Also, I found a workaround for the always open doors (which are supposed to close after one-time use). If you have 2 blocks of sand fall on top of it, it will convert it to a rift. One teleports into the dimension while the other destroys it.
Just a useful fix for those wanting to get rid of them until the bug is patched.

I did not know that. - I thought those 'DD' you find around the landscapes/Biomes where perma Doors.
I guess I better start constructing tons of 'DD' for them then.
thanks.

You can also right click them with a rift blade, but that will be a onetime door again. Watch the video in the first post, you can see it there.

Oh lol, had a way more complicated way for that...
Huh? That's not what it says there, it says your stack overflowed. I don't think that's due to Dimensional Doors. Honestly, we don't have functions that invoke themselves in loops. Your stack trace shows Galacticraft and Atum. I have a feeling one of the other mods you have installed is causing this, or it might be a conflict.
I was wondering, but does anyone have a picture of the alleged "mob" the now lives in the non-player created Dimensional Pockets and Limbo? I kinda want to see it but I have yet to find a Dimensional Dungeon or such...
MPetz, and anyone else interested in posing suggestions, please keep in touch to make sure that your suggestions get considered. Steven and I are busy sometimes - I've just taken up a full-time job. Although it won't require my constant full attention, it'll take up some time. Plus this thread is constantly churning with suggestions and bug reports and compliments alike. So, it gets a little hard to keep track of things.

No problem.
Last thing i suggested was, instead of warpdoors taking you always back to the overworld, revert it back to the old behaviour and create a line in the configfile (and the code) where you can toggle if dimension- and warpdoors could only be placed on existing rifts (either dungeon or own connectionrifts) or placed freely (allowing creation of pocketdimensions). That way serveradmins have their way and the old "we need to go deeper" feeling is back.
While I love Dimensional Doors and exploring its many possibilities, I find the Monoliths absolutely terrifying and generally avoid going anywhere near portals because of them. I just can't even adventure through a simple room in the dungeons because of the ominousness and the fact that I KNOW that their always there and simply waiting.
Anybody get the idea to change the fabric of reality's texture to have eyes on it for the sake of Touhou?

What makes you think I was ever being reasonable? I'm sitting here with a pile of guns while wearing a flamethrower, and you thought that, at some point, I was being reasonable?

They are actually not always there. There is a way to bypass them and most of the rooms youre traveling through where they are, you wont even see them. There are only a few rooms where they are in the open. If you see them, just back up immediatly (but as i said, theres another way).
