Is there a way to get this working for bukkit servers as a plugin?
Technically yes, but i believe it would require the client version to be installed. I could try to write a plugin and find out, if you are interested. Although it would take a while.
I have a problem. Mod put through MultiMC, but it does not work. Minecraft included without breakage, and it is not visible in the list of mods. Tried to put in coremods in mods and minecraft.jar. The server also
Did you put BetterSnow inside the minecraft.jar? Is it the forge or normal version? What other mods do you have installed? Does it crash or just not work?
No, everything is fine start (the game and the server) but the mod does not "activate" My client - Forge
I think I know what went wrong. You have to put BetterSnow in the minecraft.jar page. I recommend between forge and optifine. If that does not work, then you could try actually installing it into your minecraft.jar itself.
EDIT: Sorry if the first questions sounded blunt, I was in a hurry and did not have time to type much.

Sorry It doesn't work, but I have been thinking about ways to implement an actual bukkit plugin of BetterSnow. I know how almost all of it (including detecting the client version!) could be done while still allowing vanilla players, but I don't really know how to change the hitbox on the server side. If you have an idea, I can start working on a bukkit plugin.
It's a great idea! But I do not understand this, perhaps after the session, I will learn to do it.
Well the problem with bukkit plugins is that when writing them, you can only use the bukkit API and call minecraft methods, which means you cannot change anything. I need to figure out how to stop snow blocks from letting players stand on top, and instead let them sink through.
Is there a way to disable/reduce the amount snow slows you down? If not pls add one. Also, could you stop snow from falling on transparent blocks besides ice?

There actually is a way to adjust how much snow slows you, there is a line in your settings file called "snowSlowFactor" that can be adjusted. What kind of blocks is snow falling on? I'm pretty sure I left the vanilla code that detects transparent blocks intact...
Ahh... I somehow didn't see that before. And also, the snow isn't piling up on transparent blocks any more, maybe it was a previous version? I also had it running on a server.
Edit: I changed the snowSlowFactor and tested it out and now snow is piling on all transparent objects like fences. And another few bugs, dropped items bounce on any amount of snow and reloading a world with stacked snow does it to you also, water drip particles drip from leaves when its snowing, and It can snow in some other biomes when it looks like its raining like extreme hills. Hope you can try and fix these!

What version of bettersnow are you using? I believe the bouncy items is caused by the bobbing motion of dropped items combined with my code to slow down entities, but all mine does is scales the number. I have tried various things, but I may just have to go back and have items act like the snow is the vanilla stacked snow. The dripping water particles is likely a vanilla bug, as I have made no changes to snowfall or water dripping. Does it snow in non-snowy biomes?

Am I allowed to use "BetterSnow" in a modpack I am currently creating?
Thanks! :3
Yes! Just include a link to this page somewhere.
Thanks!
No problem! Also, please send me a link to your modpack when it is finished!
Sure thing!

Oh yeah I never got to work on that... I think someone said the forge version works on the server but I have not verified that. I will go test that.
UPDATE 1: The forge version loads without issue, now I have to get a forge client set up so that I can see if it works
UPDATE 2: The forge version seems to be working 100%! Here are some screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/PqlnR
Putting it in the mods or coremods will not do anything, although it needs to be in the jar. Can I see the crash report?
Wait are you using forgebukkit? I don't think bettersnow will work with that.
