Thanks, I have added it! That texture pack looks nice, what are you using if you don't mind me asking?
I recognize that as my favorite texture pack: Faithful 32x32. It takes vanilla textures and improves their quality while staying faithful to the original textures.
Hey, guys. Quote me if you want me to respond. Otherwise I'll have no idea what the hell you want with me.

Cool mod! Do 16 layers of snow become a snow block or does it just add more layers on top of the 16 layers? lol suffocation in deep snow traps the snow block would make since to me because it would get packed tighter right? I don't know if the game generates actual blocks of snow besides world generated snow blocks, so that would be cool. Thank you acomputerdog! Just a thought if a block of snow is 4 snowballs should each layer really drop a snowball? I think it should be 25% to drop snowballs per layer myself, not a big deal since the mod adds more snow overall. Another question would be if snowmen add layers to the snow themselves which might get annoying over time lol.

Currently 16 layers do not become a snow block, although that is very simple to add in the code. I will likely do that in the settings. I will probably adjust the multiple drops like you said, this was just a filler while I worked on the code. I forgot to go back and balance it :). I have not tested snowmen, but you are right if they do stack layers. I don't think they do, although I can check.
I like thinking of cool little additions/improvements and sometimes big ones, I just wanna see minecraft become more fun while keeping it balanced. I mentioned an idea to the finite liquids mod that updated to 1.5.1! I mentioned he could add precipitation which would be pretty nuts. If he decides to do it I hope it becomes compatible with your snow. One other small Idea is snow blocks could melt down into the layers but I would make that take longer to turn back into layers to preserve the snowy environment plus it's denser.

That is a good idea, and do you know weather finite liquids and better snow are compatible?

Actually, I really like how it is right now. It adds variety, and it makes a lot of sense. Also, the comment LeoTiger made gave me an idea: how about adding layers of ice? Basically, when water is flowing down a hill and freezes, it will do something completely new. The water will change all of its texture to ice, and will stop animating. You can then walk on it (as long as it isn't completely vertical), and you will slide. You gain more and more momentum if you keep sliding on ice, and going downhill on ice will make you go faster than uphill. It could be pretty tricky to stop sliding if you go too fast. If you break a bit if ice, it will only break off that bit. However, if you melt it with glowstone, a torch, etc., then that piece will continue flowing just like it did originally. Of course, if the heat source is removed, it would eventually freeze up again. Lastly, if someone broke ice with a silk touch pickaxe, it could give them the ice block, since I can't really come up with a better idea. This is what it could look like:
I'd imagine this would take a while, though. It would definitely make sense, though. After all, how come water comes in layers, but ice is just one block?
PS: You might have forgot to put the winter trees on the future plans. Just pointing it out in case you didn't notice.

Not yet but now that he has it working with forge I believe it will be compatible with many more mods than before. I'm almost done gathering some mods and then I'll get MultiMC to test stuff out, I want to experiment with better ore distribution config when they update and i just love RP2 other than that I think all the mods I like are up to date.

I had mentioned an idea similar to this to the finite liquids guy since he has partial water blocks and puddles and stuff, so I felt it made more sense for me to offer it to him. I also mentioned that layers of ice on water could stack downward and having ice that you can fall through and potentially die in ice cold water lol.

That is... quite an amazing idea! Making the ice act like both a solid and a fluid could be difficult, but I think I know how it could be done. Sorry I forgot to add the trees, they are there now.
1.5.1 version is compatible with Forge? Mods file into the .jar or minecraft/mods folder?
Stop loadining - "Loading world", install into the minecraft.jar...

Okay. But still, I like the way that snow works now in terms of piling up completely. Think of it like this: there would be two versions of a full snow block, one being solid, the other allowing you to walk through it. The former should stay solid, as it isn't naturally found and is a bunch of snow piled together. The latter should stay the way it is because, no matter how high snow is, you can always sink into it if you stand on it (as long as it is natural snow).

This looks like a great mod, and once some more of the planned features are added, I will probably download it. However, there is one feature I've always desired that I notice you haven't listed as planned: snow falling through tree leaves and piling up underneath trees. Is it possible you could consider adding this behavior as well?
All worlds, and yes, I am using forge.
If it is 1.5, then that is because this version is not forge compatible yet
I made a mod spotlight on this. Can you put my video on the post?

I am going to try to do that this weekend or maybe friday.

1.5.1 is not compatible with forge
That is what I was picturing.
