Wow, I'm... that's amazing. Hats off to you TTFTCUTS. I won't be able to work on something like that, but if he wants he can use the Highlands API and take a look at the source to see if he can get it compatible.
Great mod! Just started using it today. Do you want pictures for the windy island/other biomes that do not have pictures included? I think it's a nice addition to the front page .
Btw, also noticed this mod isn't on the big mod list (http://modlist.mcf.l...t/1.6/1.6.2.php). Or maybe i'm blind. Anyway, i'll request/add it to that list.
Sure, you can help with the pictures. Thanks for adding it to the mod list.
I noticed some more people talking about TreeCapitator here. I finally got around to putting together a proper TreeCapitator config section since the new configs in Highlands 2.1.0. I haven't had a chance to check with the mod myself, just copied this format from the others in the config. Please try it, if it works then I will add it to the main post.
Copy this code in the third_party_configs section of TreeCapitator.

Kk, it'll take a variable/random amount of time to get the pics. I'll only get them when I bump into said biome lol. Of course, some else or you can feel free to get a pic before I get around to it. Could you attempt to quote me in a post if you/someone else uploads pics to use for missing biomes? and np
Whats wrong with the old treecapitator config setting you provided? On pastebin. I'm using that one atm.

The old TreeCapitator config would not sync on its own if you change the block ids of any of the wood or leaves. The new one gets the ids directly from Highlands's config so if you change them it will recognize the new id.

Makes sense.
Fun story: I cut down most of an ironwood tree using tree capitator lol. Raised my java usage to 1500 in anticipation of the lag. I don't recommend iron wood with capitator. (My buddies and I removed iron wood from tree capitator afterward)
It didn't cut down the whole tree, which is the top number. The number of dropped items are represented by the lower 2 arrows.
Yeah, I've never been able to pop an Ironwood, either locally or on a server. It always ends up with the game crashing. It's the second stage of the general Ironwood problem, the first being there's no way to bonemeal the sapling from far enough away that you don't become enveloped in the base of the trunk.

I have an idea for the 1st problem. What about a dispenser/dropper with a redstone line which fires bonemeals into the sappling? Not the greatest system, but beats suffocation lol.
btw, when you bonemeal an ironwood, does your game lag for a second? Mine does.
Similarly to ZacharyFell the problem is that the more oceans setting only works in Highlands worldtype worlds, not in default. Currently, with the oceans at their vanilla levels they are probably just being outnumbered. You also might have a biome ID conflict, check to see that the Highlands ocean biome has a unique ID.
I have tested this and I have found that Highlands disables Ocean Spawning in Default world type.
Here's how I tested it: World A:
- I started with a Specific Seed
- B:"Highands biomes in Default worlds"=false
- ALL Highlands Biomes generation is set to false
- ALL Vanilla Biomes generation is set to true
- I used Journeymap to map the biomes as I traveled
- I traveled around the world until I found an Ocean Biome
Not the thready ones around the Island Biomes, but a Real Full Ocean Biome. World B:
- The ONLY thing I changed, was
- B:"Highands biomes in Default worlds"=true
- I traveled the same route as I had before.
NOTE: EVERY biome lined up perfectly with my previous journey.
UNTIL i ran into the Ocean Biome's place - there was a swamp there instead -
ALL other aspects of the surrounding terrain was identical. The borders of the region,
the beaches, the river borders, everything - A little further out, the Ocean Biome was
replaced by other biomes
Only conclusion I can come to, is Highlands is Replacing Ocean Biomes in default worldgen
entirely. They are NOT being Edged out.
EDIT: I took this a little further to illustrate my point graphically
Here is World B generated out to +/- 3160 blocks. This is with Highlands enabled.
Here is a Mask generated with the same seed, using AMIDST 3.0 - continental biomes are blacked out to make it easier to see.
Here is the Mask, overlaid over the Biome Map - as you can see by the rivers, the two line up perfectly.
The Biomes that remain in color, are biomes spawning in what SHOULD be the Ocean Biome.
Saplings for vanilla-block trees
Great Oak=Großeichensetzling, Dead Tree=Toterbaumsetzling, Beech=Buchensetzling, Deciduous Bush=Laubbuschsetzling, Evergreen Bush=Adelnbuschsetzling
Wood products (these are all two words)
(Red=Rot, yellow=Gelb, gray=Graue, white=Weiße) Holz(planks=bretter, slab=stufe, stairs=treppe)
Plants
Blue flower=Blauenblume, white flower=Weißenblume, Leafy fern=Belaubt Farn, Cattail=Rohrkolben, Lavender=Lavendel, Thorn bush=Dornbusch, blueberry=Heidelbeerbusch, Raspberry=Himbeerbusch, Berries=Beeren, Cotton plant=Baumwollstrauch
You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
will the biomes change the number of caves?(like will highland biomes have caves?)
Don't worry, they have plenty of caves. In fact, I think they might actually generate MORE caves than normal biomes.

Interesting. Since I play in a Highlands world type I hadn't noticed this.
I had an idea. Did you test if setting the "Improved Oceans Generate" option to false has any effect?
Since this disables and replaces vanilla oceans in the special world type, maybe it's still being registered to disable oceans in default.
I did, Improved Oceans Generate setting seems to have no effect - from what I can tell, it Replaces default Oceans, but if no default ones generate, there's nothing to replace.
Here is a comparison shot of the 16x and Dokucraft style logs, what do people think? (So far the Eucalyptus/Canopy tree is my nemesis)
The eucalyptus trees I've seen near Grandma's house have this really cool spiraling bark, that twists counterclockwise as you go up the tree. It would be neat to have a a Minecraft tree texture like that. Also, most giant redwood species have stringy rather than chunky bark.

One thing I noticed is that in the Tropics, the canopy trees grow so close together and with such wide crowns that they can block out the sun, allowing mobs to spawn and even hitting light level 0 in some places.
I was going to ask you to fix this, but when you think about it, it's actually a fairly brilliant way to produce the "savage jungle" like you see in adventure movies. Nice.

Ok, I've done some testing too now and getting the same results.
But just by accident I ran into a strange tiny little area of ocean in one world when I had Highlands biomes enabled in a standard world.
Almost all the water you see in the screenshots belongs to the Flying Mountains except this tiny area I'm standing in. http://imageshack.us...200/467/ju8.png http://imageshack.us...1/7336/xdgb.png
(seed and coordinates included)
And if I change all Highlands biomes to false like in your test it wasn't there anymore, just land vanilla biomes.
Don't know what it means but maybe it can help figure out what's going on.
That's true: Ocean biome will spawn Very small as a Technical Biome around other biomes - for instance, if you have a Volcanic Island spawn, it will be ringed by a river sized ocean biome - it's part of the Island Needs, but it's not a true Ocean biome spawn
Can you add sub biomes in the ocean like reefs, deltas, volcanic islands , kelp forests, deep oceans, oceanic cliffs ,etc . I love the mod keep up the good work

Biomes O Plenty adds most of those already, however, if you have no Ocean to put them in.... then you never see them....
Anyone know if sdj64 reads these posts for bugs, or is there a place to report bugs?

It would be cool to have ocean biomes. I like to build underwater bases, and it would be cool to have kelp forests, coral reefs or even black smoker communities outside. BOP may have those, but I've heard it's annoying to deal with it and Highlands at the same time.
And yes, sdg does read these. And even if he's too busy, someone else on the thread might know how to solve it.

If the canopy tree is supposed to be eucalyptus, replace Baumkronen with Eukalyptus. And pronounce it "Oykalooptus"
By the way, I also noticed that in Bogs, dead trees sometimes spawn on top of normal trees.
Also, could you put a line in the OP saying which biomes spawn villages?
