I found a bug in the 1.5.2 version and if I used the arcane worktable as a automatic crafting table like in buildcraft with the vanilla hoppers but the hoppers took out the matierals and the product so you could get free thaumium by making thaumium chestplates and boots.
I can't wait to see how Research has changed! Azanar said he wanted to change that as well to be more fun and less of a tedious thing. Maybe the character makes notes in his book and the player has to underline portions to get closer to the final product?
Well, the people asking for a video of the Thaumic Elevator, I have a little bit of one. Not exactly well set up as it was the first time in a VERY long time I have set a vid up, but here ya go. The important part starts at 2:50. To amend a small part of the video... when you see me making the elevator, remember to put the levitators on the top floor wherever that is or else in survival you will run into fall damage if you are descending floors. Forgot to do that after I broke them the first time due to being in creative and not taking fall damage.
. Sorry for not having a youtube setup, it is a little bit too long to have it work on youtube without a premium account partially due to me fumbling with it a while to get it working. This is how to get a fully functional Thaumic Elevator that is 100% modular. If you guys want, I can remake the video for a bit better format and actually plan it out to try and constrain it to a more reasonable timeframe, but up to you. I actually do plan to start streaming and whatnot once my server comes up, just a matter of time as we wait on Thaumcraft 3.1 (not pressuring Azanor or anything). Once it comes around I'll update the video based on whatever changes Azanor does then.
Sorry for the studer, just didn't exactly plan it out which sort of... resulted in that.
Great video! I think I will make the goggles of revealing show the current settings for note blocks/arcane ears - building large constructions like in your video is just too much of a pain without something like that.

Thank you very much for watching it. I intend to start steaming more stuff like this once your 1.6.2 update comes out so my server I have can also be steamed as I play it with the people who play on it. I have a few other tricks I have done with TC I wouldn't mind showing off, although I want to see what is still intact for 1.6.2 before I try and show anything else off.
I would love to pull some of my golem builds out once I get a chance to. I did your item grate thing in the past with a lil redstone magic.
I think the arcane ear is heavily under-appreciated due to how hidden it's uses are. It's a very unconventional method of wireless redstone, that is a bit complex. Combo that with the fact most people don't even have the beginnings of a clue on how Vanilla noteblocks work, and you have a recipe for a very underused part of the mod. Mind I make a recommendation in the Thauminomicon so that it notes how Noteblocks and Arcane Ears change in pitch based upon the material they are on, as well as what note they are set to? I know the first time I tried messing with the ears and note blocks that REALLY threw me off because even though it looked like they matched, they didn't PERFECTLY match due to the material frequency change.
Yummy. I'm really looking forward to 3.1's departure from exclusively burning resources to gain essence. Which I am assuming from the observation that you appear to be drawing essence out of magical nodes into wands for direct use.
No doubt we'll still be able (and expected) to render items and blocks into essences with alchemical equipment, but it looks like it will no longer be the only source.
I hope the research system sees a similar resource-use-reduction update.
When will thaumcraft be updated to 1.6.2 because our private server would like to get horses in game and also would like it out before 1.7 biome update
Out of curiousity, since I'm one of those people with no idea about noteblocks and such that Steelflame mentioned (I didn't know that about the material beneath, for example) - About how far is the range that the Arcane Ear works? Has anyone tested it?

I have, but a very long time ago. I don't remember what it was though. I think its a 64 block range. That sounds about right, but I'm sure I'm wrong.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.

edit 2 : watched again and I realised that you have to aim for the node to fill your wand with vis,but how could you aim for an invisible thing,it would be pretty hard, and I suppose that in order to make googles of revealling/thaumometer (that seems to no longer show you the closest node dirrection) we first need a wand (like in thaumcraft 3.0),so that would mean in order to have a wand,we need a wand
Nope, the thaumometer will be a purely vanilla recipe now. It is possible however to see nodes without them - if you look right at the start of the video you will see small dots of light where the nodes are. Obviously you need to be fairly observant though, so the thaumometer will probably be the first item you craft.
@Azanor: Any chance you can fix 'tcnode' overwriting the contents of idcounts.dat in 3.0?
Yup, that won't be happening anymore. I wish I had seen that issue earlier - I now realise it is probably the main reason for all my node woes. Alas, I am already too far along with the node rewrite.
[EDIT] If you mean that I should fix it in the current live version, then no it won't be possible. Fixing it will mean changing the node system to such a degree that it will break saves. It will probably also take more time than it would take for me to complete the coding on 3.1.
Wow. That is all.

Seriously.... you are making waiting SOOOO hard when you tease us with these things.

Yes. Many enjoyments. The wand model is a bit out of place though.
Starting to look more like Thaumcraft 4 to me
Yeah but now I have to relearn so many things

In the video I say a 64 block range.
