You have a problem with your mip-mapping. OptiFine does not have this problem so I know it is yours (sorry to sound harsh).
As you can see a little bit on the right by flowers the dirt has an almost black line under grass.
You can also tell further to the right by the river.
If you look closely you can also so little black squares in tree leaves. It was more obvious in older versions of your pre-release shaders.
That processor isn't exactly the best, and Minecraft uses a lot of CPU power too. I'd suggest you upgrade to an 8320 or 8350.
FX-8150 was the best in the FX series at the time I built my computer Minecraft comes nowhere near to using even 20% of my CPU... so I know that the 8-core CPU is not the bottleneck.
Also, the whole "noob" think tells me you're the average kid who begged their parents for junk in a fancy case. Have a good day, sir.
I just would like to point out this is the single worst argument I have heard from anybody ever.
Well, except for the people who say "it was in the bible."

Everything else is good, but I am getting a problem with the water on all the shaders pack I have downloaded. I have about 10 of em.
because all of them use the same formula which is not fully compatible with minecraft 1.6.x.
Compare gbuffers_water.vsh in your shaderpack with gbuffers_water.vsh in bump-shadow-waving which is not affected.

Anyone able to help? I've tried repetitively, but the game either refuses to launch or spontaneously closes upon the opening of a world or server. It never generates a crash report or anything. Would having the Better Sprinting mod installed make a difference?

MagicLauncher is able to generate a crashdump (or should be able to), but you can go to %appdata%\.minecraft and grab the forge logs (001 is always the newest).
We need to know why MC is crashing, and it will tell you.
Optifine is not compatible ATM, so if it's installed, it'll bugger up the whole thing.
I haven't even started testing shaders yet, I'm still trying to square away all of my mods (building alphas, editing versions / dependencies / forge)..
Heck, I'm still trying to figure out the horses, :P!
Since this just got asked in my thread, for those who don't know what mipmapping is or what it does.
Here's a pic that pretty much show it.
Left one without, right with mipmapping.
Sonic ether develops Sonic ether's unbelievable shaders on NVIDIA card.
GLSL compiler in NVIDIA driver is very forgiving.
There can be errors in the code that are not detect on his machine.
Some error are detect when used on AMD graphic driver.
Some error are detect when used on Intel graphic driver.
I think Intel's compiler is the most strict among the three.
Someone should help him fix errors to make it runnable on all 3 GPU vendors.
Another problem is sometimes his shader depends on implementation detail of OpenGL that is undefined in standard.
It can behave differently on different cards or different driver versions.
Sometimes, bug in graphic driver causes problem.
----
GLSL shaders mod is not entire game. It depends on render code of Minecraft.
Optimization methods that require rewriting and distributing too much of game render code are unacceptable.
I have some optimization and enhancement planned. But it will take time to implement.
Introducing more change also cause incompatibility with other mods.
There is trade-off between compatibility and speed.
----
I think mipmapping is better than noisy scene.
There is no switch to turn off mipmapping in the latest preview.
Acutely Sues made his Shaders AMD Readon Cards compatible only for the longest time only his latest version was Nividia Compatible and that's because donators got him $100 to go get one. You would know this if you read his facebook page. However I agree that he should make it for all 3 GPU vendors but not truly intel as the last time I had one I got the best one they had at the time and it was so under powered for it's price I'll stick to Intel for CPU's but not GPU's.

In case you guys missed this, Sonic Ether posted this on his facebook page
"Karyonix will be away from his programming for a few days, so he gave me the source code for Shaders Mod for 1.6.2 and I've been working on it for a short while. I've fixed a few bugs and added all of my changes, so v10.0 works nearly perfectly. There is still one bug regarding procedurally rendering the skybox for specular reflections that I have to hunt down.
Karyonix has done some really brilliant work updating the Shaders Mod, everyone should be very thankful to him! I sure am!"

Using 804 I had all of my mods working, then did the upgrade before adding 2 other mods.
Looks like chocapics one, or my own one (linked in my signature). But I added a temponary fix for the water, so I would say chocapic's one.
