Fixed a mod incompatibility that had to do with a specific classpath.
Added the option to turn off update checking in the config.
Maybe you could add another option that only alerts you if there is a new update and does not announce that it is up to date whenever you join a world. That would be nice. :3

If that's the only problem, I can live with that, I'll try to work it into a future version, maybe 3 options, On, Off, and Only When Update Is Available.

Fixed popoffs being incorrect for other players.
Changed the update config setting. Now you set it as 0, 1, or 2. 0 disables update checking. 1 Only tells you when an update is available. and 2. Normal Behavior.
Due to the change, the setting is moved to a new config entry, and the old one is antiquated.
I think it would be cool to classify certain mobs as elites, and legendaries, you can customize it and theres a default, example, Enderdragon/Wither would be legendary, Iron golem would be elite, Blaze would be elite, Ghast would be legendary (Probably) and all other mobs would be classified as default, nothing.
Would really feel awesome, and would allow players to disable the elite/legendary all together and just have a damage mod.

Stop treating mod devs poorly. These people mod as a hobby or as a service to the community, they don't have to take your suggestion and you are not entitled to anything from them.

Well, you already have Elites, Legendaries are elites, just gold, i'm sure i could help you there if you needed it, and just plain without elite or legendary, would be easy enough.
If you like the idea, and want someone to help you, then i could do that, but if you would rather not do it, let me know

Server performance increased as well as the update range, as performance is now lean enough to warrant it. All possible errors should now be caught and plugin will gracefully restart itself so a server reset, or any manual maintenance of this plugin, should not be required should an error occur.

Decidedly Impossible
The vanilla server does not give the client adequant information for this to be client side only. All damage and health information is handled server side and the client is left totally blind. Bukkit and Forge SMP compatible to make it easier, as well as not being a required mod, meaning servers can run this mod and clients are not required to have the mod. Their game experience will be completely unaffected.
Server for both client and server streamlined for lightwieght performance and bandwidth requirements, as well as using it's own data watching technique to ensure full 3rd party mod compatibility(as far as data watching is concerned). All mod mobs should work, but dynamic mobs(pixelmon) and lazily coded mobs(mods that don't set the entities max health correctly or do not name their mobs) might be missing some information.
Slimes and magma cubes also have buggy health information, but this is a vanilla bug revealed by this mod.(Has to do with dynamic health not getting updated when generating the random mob).
No, the server MUST have the mod installed. It is impossible. Period. The vanilla server does not ever tell the client health information, only if something is alive, hurt or dead.
The server needs to have the mod running. This is a vanilla minecraft limitation, the server does not tell the client the health of any player or mob, so the mod needs to be running on the server so the health will update.

Bukkit and forge plugins available, and they do NOT require the players to be running the mod, so the server admin can drop it in and it will effect no one and give you the feature. This is considered advantageous to users running the mod, so the admin may not agree to it. The plugins, both bukkit and forge, are streamlined for extremely light wieght performance, so a server will not experience noticable lag from the plugin. Server strain is based on online players, which means very little is actually done compared to the overhead each player contributes vanilla.
For some reason my game is crashing every time it loads the Mojang screen. I have checked the crash reports and it said there is a failure to start the game. It also mentions that a class file is missing. Could anyone help plz. thank you!
Is it possible to disable certain mobs from showing a DI display when highlighted? I use the Mob Dismemberment mod and I was wondering if there would be a way to prevent mob gibs from showing a damage display. This config file is generated for it in the DIAdvancedCompatibility folder:

Please change it so that it doesn't tell you if damage indicators is up to date. I only need to know if it ISN'T up to date!
