So apparently just as I was about to release an update... minecraft announce another update...
I'm seriously getting annoyed with the minor updates being vomited from minecraft.
So I'll either release the mod for someone else to continue to update.
Or I'll start making the mod into a version independent minecraft overhaul which ignores all future updates.
It would need to revert the minecraft files back to the previous version within the mod, making it minimally compatible.
That option just sounds annoying... however the alternative just sounds lazy.
In either case I don't want to be the one to waste time changing files just to update my mod to a slightly different version... seriously... 1.4.7? WTF GUYS XD
What do you guys think
The options are
1) Keep wasting time updating the mod until I never want to see this forum again. [Boring]
2) Release the mod lazily passing the problem on to someone else. [Lazy]
3) Halt all compatibility efforts in favor of pursuing the goals of the mod [Selfish]
Well the complete lack of replies to this topic in a LONG while leave me to assume a general drop in interest in this mod.
So I don't know if I'll keep the mod going...
If you want any source diff code I'll share it, just say something.
On second thought, would it be possible using mediafire, to host all files needed to play the mod as it is now?
-modloader 1.4.4
-Minecraft Version Changer (or a zipped .minecraft 1.4.4)
this way you ensure that your mod will always be playable.
( i still cant get it working)
I would hate to see this mod "die" before i ever get a chance to try it. vanilla is too easy! and i need a change from survival island.
This is what I've been looking for ever since I got into mods, I understand you can't break stuff with your bare hands right ? AWESOME ! I was about to try and learn modding just to make something like this.
One suggestion I have is make rocks have a very low chance to drop from dirt, like how you would eventually find a rock if you were digging through dirt in real life, then it would become sort of a scavenger hunt......no? Maybe not.

IMO you should release it to a good modder, don't burn yourself out on it because you will end up quitting like other creators of some very good mods have (survivalcraft creator) . And also compatibility is very important, Terrafirmcraft is a overhaul mod somewhat like this but it isn't compatible with anything. IDK that's what I would do.
Hey guys
I'm planning on continuing the mod.
Since mojang is going in a great direction IMO, I think I'll work on this mod when it's 1.5
They are adding many things which i had added with my mod
They fixed adventure mode, and are improving chest placement
I think I'm going to remake the mod from scratch.
Once 1.5 comes out, I'll redo the entire mod.
Right tools is no longer needed as they fixed the adventure mode .
They've changed chests so you can place them next to each other making the single chest mod obsolete
The things I will be keeping are...
1) Torch burnout [which I plan on expanding further]
2) Tool tier+ [adding tool tiers to other tools and damage/exhaustion based on the block being broken]
3) New tools [scythe spear chisel dagger hammer]
There are 2 mods which I may not keep...
4) Crumblocks, blocks now drop fragments which can be used to build many different things.
5) Icon change, this overhauls the entire icon index allowing for many new items.
If you can think of anything else I need to keep, please say something.
If you think any of these things isn't needed, or may make you not install the mod in the future, please say something
Awesome! So glad to hear this Are you happy with how the addition of Obsidian Tools worked out? I really liked this idea, in addition to what you already planning on keeping for 1.5

Thank you, and yeah I don't see anything wrong with the obsidian tools thing.
However if I don't keep the crumblocks mod, then I'm not sure how the gold and obsidian tools would end up working.
As for the title, what would you rather I call it?
If you have name ideas please share them
Supose I wanted to install "TweaKraft 1.4.4" right now, would i have to find "modloader 1.4.4"? (most modloader 1.4.4 direct download links i have found have actually been changed to 1.4.7)

P.S. Not sure what the other guy had in mind for the name... I dont mind "Tweakcraft"
Well I plan on updating this to 1.5 soon after 1.5 is released.
However until then you'll need both 1.4.4 modloader and version changer.
The modloader page has an older versions section, it should have 1.4.4
ALRIGHT!!!
When 1.5 is released I will be returning to minecraft modding
I will need to make a list of the changes I want to make/keep
1) Bookshelfs being placed with a visual direction. Front and back showing books...
2) Torches/jack o' lanterns burning out after more than a day or so.... relighting torches with a flint.
3) Breaking a block damages the item according to how long that block took to break.
4) Breaking a block is more exhausting if the block was difficult to break.
5) Tool Tiers for other tools...
6) MAYBE crumblocks stuff...
7) Hammers scythes and chisels oh my!
8) Change MANY crafting recipes to reflect the actual shape of the item, or simply changing it's cost.
9) Until I can figure out the options menus, I will make the default game mode into an adventure mode
Not sure I understand all of what you just said, but sounds good! Are you finding that modding gets easier or harder with every update? Seems like a pain in the butt to recheck all of the code everytime there is a major release.
Looking forward to the next version of tweakcraft. I never got the last version working, so I am hoping that I will get a chance to try immediatly after tweakcraft 1.5 is ready
downloading......

I think it would be good to make a permanent download link for the current source code. Never know if someone will want to continue your work.
Take care and feel good about what you have done

PS. you can put a link to Minecraft Version Changer in your first post, so that people can always use this mod, even if they come out with new minecraft updates.
