Can't wait for the 1.4.2 update. Even so, take your time with it Greg, I'm a firm believer in two things:
1) Modding is not easy in the slightest
2) Perfection (or even close to it) takes time, so, I personally, am willing to wait.
Tested the IC2 component of your 1.6 release with the Open Beta 1.108.57 version (1.4.2). The IC2 flood light works without any issues in single player; did not test multiplayer but the API behavior should be the same.
It doesn't produce a crash report because it doesn't crash.
FML log says:
2012-10-29 05:24:11 [INFO] [ForgeModLoader] FML has found a non-mod file GregsLighting-1.6-mc1.4.zip in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.
The 1.4 version isnt causing a crash, but the components from the mod are making NEI blank out, and dont show up as images in CraftGuide
I can't reproduce this -- it seems to work fine for me with NEI.
What version of Forge and NEI are you using?
Do you have any other mods installed?
Do the items show up in the vanilla creative menu?
Can you craft the items?
Are you sure there are no ID conflicts?

To add to rrusciguy's report I'm experiencing the same thing but I can add that it has to do with buildcraft facades or its pipes in some way. I'm only concluding this after running with pretty much 47 mods at once and attempting to grab an invisible greg's lightning block. Doing this caused me to crash, but upon logging back in with the mod disabled I had a transport pipe in its place. I'll put a crash log with the information pertaining to the crash below.

This looks like a great mod, I plan on using it in my factories from now on. One suggestion, however - maybe you could create a lens "filter" that you can place in the floodlight (somewhere in it's internal GUI) that changes attributes or colour. To keep it simple, maybe you could even just throw the correct dye in there.

The color of the lens on the block, or the color of the light? Because the game's lighting engine doesn't do colors right now. I've heard that 1.5 might get a revamp to the lighting engine, and if we're lucky that could include colored lights instead of white light from colored blocks, but we'll see.

Ah, silly me. What I meant to say was that you maybe could change the Visible colour on the light block itself, sort of what RedPower2 does. The coloured lights emit "white" light even if they are, say, a green lamp.
The simple floodlight recipe does not pull up in NEI. Also, if you look at the recipe on your webpage and put it in, it doesn't work. On your page it says to set "enableSimpleFloodlight = true" in the config, but that option isn't in the config.

Doesn't crash the game for me or anything, just doesn't do anything. Using Forge 6.0.1.343
Mod doesn't show in the mods list in the main menu and doesn't appear to add any blocks to the game. No config file generated either.
Can you provide an error log?
It doesn't produce a crash report because it doesn't crash.

Edit: My bad, I didn't read the part where I had to extract the JAR and use that. I'm used to just downloading and dropping them into the mods folder.

Not at the moment. No immediate plans, but this is something I'd like to do one day.

Question: Does 1.6.2 work with Minecraft 1.4.4?
Changing colour would be very difficult -- Minecraft's lighting mechanism doesn't accommodate coloured lights, unfortunately.
