This mod adds Better Items to the game. This is still a work in progress but I am almost done with it. It is coming out really nice. Please respond if you read this post, I love to see what people think about it. This is my first mod, so if there are any bugs please tell me. This mod is amazing with the Better Farming Mod by the way.

This is the chart for the Handles

You will also notice the Stone Torches. At the moment only accessible by crafting table.

Wood Grip: Normal
Stone Grip: durability +40 efficiency - 1 enchantability +1
Gold Grip: durability +15 efficienct +4 enchantability +3
Iron Grip: durability +200 efficiency normal enchantability +2
Diamond Grip: durability +400 efficiency +1 enchantability +1
Blaze Grip: durability +600 efficiency +6 enchantability +4
Lapiz Redstone tools very fast! only 100 uses though.


(Lapiz Redstone tools use Lapiz blocks and redstone Ingots)

I like it. I have a few suggestions. Don't be afraid to create your own weapons. Broadswords, or Halberds or even different types of swords, rapiers, flamberges, Perhaps even buster swords. now I would download that mod. Maybe you could add a new ore to the game, that you mine to create buster swords, like a special metal. call it mithril, if you will. Also, make the iron grips increase the durability of the weapon. This could evolve into a really great mod.and make sure you provide info about the mod. for instance, is it a modloader mod?

No if it is a mod loader mod there is no need to make item it's configurable

Im going to keep it as simple as possible, the rods are a good idea, but I would rather keep it simple, because when things get too complicated people tend not to use it.

Do you guys think i should add specialty items. Like Lapiz tools?

I wouldn't do Lapiz, because in my mind, it is very brittle. I would say maybe emerald or something.

That sounds like a good idea.

Nice mod, but instead of grips, I would like to see some different weapons, blaze grips should stay, but you should add different types of tools, like a battle axe (cuts wood 10% slower than axe with 75% power of a sword of that metal) and a multi-tool which breaks everything at 80% efficiency of that metals tools, but requires you to use alot of materials, and is 4x the durability of a regular item of that metal.

Also could you add like better boats like iron boats that can sail across lava in the nether? Oh and could you add metal grips for bows? In real life most bows are metal now, would be cool if we could make more powerful bows with more range in minecraft too, like gold will make the arrow go 50% farther, with no damage modification, iron will make the arrow go 25% farther, with a 150% damage modification, no stone bow, and diamond will make the arrow go 200% farther (3x) with a 3x damage modification, would be cool to see that, but uhh make the bows your priority, they seem to fit the mod better, also add a blaze bow that shoots arrows 400% father (5x arrow travel) with 500% damage, also make the blaze bow shoot arrows that set fire to blocks and people
the bow mod idea sounds cool, but I don't feel like making it myself, currently I am working on a bioshock mod that adds in plasmids and farmable adam slugs

oh btw you could add leather grips, and make them better than stone because leather is a great grippy material.

That is a good idea, I will add it to my things to do. I think first im going to add all the main pieces for my mod though.

IDk about the boats, but i'll look into it, on the other hand i like the bow idea, ill try and see if i can get that to work.

Why not make the blaze rod tools automatically have a fire enchantment, but it is built in to the tool instead of an enchantment so you can still add enchants to it (Did that make sense?)
You could also make the blaze rods 'too hot to hold' and they cause damage unless you're wearing some kind of armor. Otherwise, it looks like a very nice mod!

I was trying to do that as a matter of fact. I could not figure it out, but i'm going to keep looking for it.
