this crashes immediately after starting minecraft. I installed it on a fresh 1.2.5 jar, deleted meta-inf, installed modloader the same as always, and whenever this mod is in the mods folder or the class files in the jar, mc freezes at the mojang logo
Maxxehy; It's great to see a new version of your mod!
It's unfortunate that you compiled it against Java 7 though, lots of people including me won't be able to use your mod now. Not to mention the major Hack vulnerabilities in Java 7 right now, even the new patch they put out for J7 to fix it created several more major vulnerabilities. I won't have J7 anywhere near my computer and I don't even have the option to install it at work.
I got this to work, and happily ran around. Then I discovered it was completely broken. It only works when I type in a seed and select OneBiome option, and then, it doesn't seem to actually function at all as advertised - I see all sorts of biomes (yes, I got the options right). It also sometimes makes worlds that are completely broken, depending on the seed. So as nice as this mod is or could be, it doesn't quite work. At all. The only time I see an endless biome is when it generates an ocean... Which is most of the time...

That looks like an error with Forge rather than an error with my mod. What version of Forge are you using?

Yeah, I completely understand your concern. It's just that I moved my development platform from Mac to Windows so I only downloaded JDK7. Looks like I'm going to have to download JDK6 now and use it until Oracle fix both the security issues and Mac support.

Yeah, the biome detection code that v2 uses is a bit ugly. For v2.1 I'm going to remove the ability to use the biome names until I come up with a cleaner solution.
This release should address the issues that some of you were having. Unfortunately, I could not come up with an elegant solution to the v1.1 compatibility issue that did not alter base classes. In order to make your v1.1 One Biome worlds work properly with this release, you need to change your old world's seed to your desired biome. This will cause chunk errors, however that is arguably better than chunks being the wrong biome.
If all goes well with this release, the next release will be v3 and with it should come a few great features (including the ability to use the biome's name) along with fixes for the Nether and End biomes.
I can not for the life of me get this working :[ Is there a recommended version of forge to use with this?
Crash code below, just seems to be FML not working.

I got the mod to work, however the same problems persist. I tried about 25 worlds, typing in random seeds. Of those, 23 were Ocean. 2 were Ice-Ocean. I mean... I guess it works... but... Hmph... Maybe you could give us some seeds that are in each biome?

There's a section in the OP called 'Biomes' - it has all of the seeds and their corresponding biomes. Random seeds will just give you ocean, this is intended.

I use the latest recommended version of Forge and it works fine for me. I will definitely look into these errors that people are having with Forge in relation to my mod.

Quick question then, forge is required for your mod right?
ok, was just making sure. One more question then, with forge using FML, is Risugami's modloader now not needed? I had installed both forge and R's modloader the first time, only to realize after that forge used FML now.

Yeah you're not meant to install ModLoader and Forge.
Hi. I'm a modder of 1.2.5 because it doesn't lag my slow computer, and I find it annoying when there's no past version section of a mod I really want. I'm just saying.

You have to merge the zip with your Minecraft jar, so that means you have to copy the 'maxxehy' folder into the Minecraft jar.

You're welcome. Keep in mind that v1.1 requires ModLoader.

I think he wants a Biome that has been decorated by a Dark Florist. So it would be full of things like the following:
