Me again how about a catapult?: <--- there comes the item in <--- there comes the item in <--- stretching thingy <--- stretching thingy <--- hoding the tires? <--- tires
and you can fill it with or place mob eggs on it and fire the mobs or food for quick help in a fight or :Flint and Steel: which makes fire 5 blocks around the impact point or a water buket which makes a little water ball and the same with lava or slime balls which makes 5 blocks around the impact point some green slime which stops you completly or makes you very slow. also you can put wood, cobblestone, stone and bricks on it which just makes damage at the player (when you aimed good ) or the block which gets hitten. you can stretch it like a bow and move it when you push it around. also you could put a chest filled with items on it for quick support on the battlefield. Wulfre, would you try to draw this catapult for me? (im training a bit with gimp^^)
I don't believe this is a good idea, especially when you don't even know the names of the parts of a catapult.
I hope that we get some more original ideas like key suggested with the catapult, everyone is asking for handheld torches (including me, I just gave my idea a different name) or spears and stuff.

Key, when making a new image on GIMP go to advanced options and make the fill transparency.
More things to add:
- Double Minecart ( space for 2 players)
- Double Furnace (4 or 2 slots)
- Large Bucket (once fully filled can be used 4 timesbefore refilling)

Some of the suggestions are really good ideas. But at first I'll focus on the main things like extended tools and armor (anyone has a idea how the recipes should look?).

Also I just released v0.2. It adds the extended bow using the icon from Wolfre.
The animation isn't great. To make it great I'd need Minecraft Forge. I'll add a poll if I should use it.
v0.2 doesn't require an installation in the jar anymore. So if you installed it in the jar, delete the files carefully or get a new jar.
This should also fix the crash with the recipe book mod, reported earlier.
If someone wants to add new food to this mod, you can download my plugin for that.
To use it you need to download and install Naruto's Extended Workbench -mod and then install my plugin.
I second the idea of releasing the source, so modders can add whatever 6x3 recipe they want, so if some want their elemental swords and some do not, then there'll be no conflict. Maybe an Extended Workbench API?
Also, a suggestion, if incompatibility with Recipe Book/Craft Guide exists, any chance for a patch?

It will be possible to add own recipes. I'll release the source. Meanwhile you can PM me the get it.
Crashes should be fixed with v0.2. If you still have a problem, send me the error log.
Looks like this is caused by having empty slots in the hotbar. I tested the mod in creative mode, so I didn't notice.
However this should be fixed in v0.3, which I just released.
It adds an extended version for all tools and fixes some bugs.
Suggestion: maybe you can also craft capes that you can wear in your chestplate slot. A cape can be leather in an oval, with the dye of the color you want inside of it.

I feel a bit sorry but, in v0.2 this won't work anymore. I'll release the source soon, so you can add recipes easily.
No I didnt have your plugin, It was just the bow that messed me up.
