I wrote two manual installation guides covering the installation of the latest Gulliver for both the Modloader and Forge versions. These were written for the players on our Sister Server, but I'm sure it can help some of you as well, and surely can be adapted to some other documentation purposes if necessary.
Feedback is always appreciated, of course. Thank you.
Love you! Sound problem solved... I didn't know that the no sound issue was a common problem for ModLoader users...and... is there a 1.6.2 server that uses this mod? I'd like to join a server like this
Here is the crash report I get for gulliver forged, this is using the installer I PMed you and changing the game directory. http://pastebin.com/cciND7c2 using the default game directory = works changing the GD = crash
Ooh! The launcher is being worked on! Thank you!!
I feel bad for the modloader version now, it wont stand a chance. ^v^;
hehe, how do we download what?
Feel free to check the prior posts before you for installation guides on downloading and installing the latest gulliver, if that's what you mean. ^^;

Aww thank you. :3
Yes, I didnt expect that either, since Modloader was so reliable before. Not sure what happened, but it's now trickier to install. -.-
Oh, and lol... you do know i wrote this guide for the players on our Gunia Sister Server, which was updated to 1.6.2 mere hours after the mod was posted?
You can check our forum for more info (the URL is listed on the main page of the guide), as it is a whitelisted server and requires an application. But it's a pleasant place, and we've archived some builds from other defunct servers as well, such as the old Dravics server. ^^

Sorry but this didn't work, but i think it's because i deleted what was in the JMV arguments, but what happends is that when i hit play a few seconds later it brings me back to the launcher, any help for this problem?
for those that want an unoffical Gulliver forge installer http://www.mediafire.com/download/mgn9v2wl96c40qz/gulliver-installer(based%20completly%20on%20forge%20installer).jar what you'll need The 1.6 launcher a download of Gulliver-Forge have ran vanilla 1.6.2 at least once instructions 1. run the installer jar, it is the forge installer with a few tweaks. 2. open the launcher and run the new profile "Gulliver-installed" (IT WILL FAIL) 3. navigate to your minecraft install directory. 4. continue to library/com/unclemion/gulliver/forged-871-universal-0.14.1-MC1.6.2/ b. if you skipped step 2 you will have to create the directories shown 5. copy the gulliver zip file you downloaded and change it to a jar file (please use google) 6. restart the launcher and start playing This will be taken down if 1. UM asks 2. if UM creates an official installer
Ooh!
Well I already mentioned it in PM, but thank you for posting this prototype auto-installer! While this one still requires a bit of manual work, I can see how a final Mion-approved installer would totally make this a one-click operation! It's incredibly exciting!
Im just wondering if this kind of safe, non-base class modifying installation would be possible for a standalone version of Gulliver. ^^

Ah, if you have no JVM arguments, then yes it would not work at all and would perform the behavior you described. Unless Forge is told not to do so, it will reject any session loading that's not using a standard forge or minecraft JAR. ^^
Alrighty testing Optifine 1.6.2 HD_U_C4 loads up but the camera does not stay with the head of the player as you resize. the items in hand change size though. woot shaders work great and so does optifine just had to reorder the library list in the json file
So far, despite some installation issues at first, this update has been a raging success.
Well I have a possible nasty server-crashing bug. XD
I can only paraphrase what happened, as I don't want to reproduce the issue on such a busy night... but apparently one of my players shrunk a horse, put it on his shoulder, then tried to mount it as it was growing back to a larger size (I guess it was a potion?). Next thing we know, the server kicks us all out with an error message and we can't log back into the server, yet in the console it shows all of us are still in it.
After restarting the server, everything is fine, except for the above player who spawned with his horse roughly around 15000 blocks up into the air. [and just so you know, after an interesting rescue operation, we DID save him and the horse] XD
So it was very weird, and hopeful won't get repeated... but if it sounds like something that could be the result of Gulliver, I figured you should be the first to know. ^^

Oh, thanks xP Also, do you or anyone else know how to fix the Optifine bug where it will look like you're x1 in first person mode when you're actually some other size?

thank you for this it was very useful but i seems that you dont need the modloader fix in order for it to work because i didnt use it and i can play just fine. anyway now i just need to wait to be re whitelisted for gunias server and then i will do a happy dance and be happy forever

hehe, you can play, but it won't be long before you start spotting some of the buggies.
The patch is there to fix some of those bugs, so they won't impact your gameplay. ^^
[and of course the Forge version just avoids them outright] ^^
Ah, and yeah I saw your app.
There is a new rule whereby if a moderator doesn't review your application after 3 days, then I can review it to determine a provisional whitelist to the Sister Server only. It's just a way to move things along. ^__^
Oh, thanks xP Also, do you or anyone else know how to fix the Optifine bug where it will look like you're x1 in first person mode when you're actually some other size?
Oh! You posted something new.
Don't know a thing about Optifine, but Tarig made mention of exactly that in an earlier post, and seems to have figured out how to fix it. See if you can touch base with him to try and get your Optifine straightened out. ^^

yeah i saw that right after posting that but i guess now i wait *sits and waits*
7. copy the Optifine jar file to libraries\net\optifine\OptiFine\1.6.2_HD_U_C4
8. rename the file so it is called OptiFine-1.6.2_HD_U_C4.jar (that dash is important)
9. Play
GulliverShaderscore can go into the mods folder
Thanks Tarig, but I couldn't get it to work. It opened up my Minecraft and made it into a world, but I still encountered the same problem with the sizing. Probably with where you insert the line into the json file (Sorry I'm such a newb with this kind of thing xP) I didn't know what you meant when you said "after forge and after gulliver" if forge/gulliver were items just mentioned in certain lines. Also, if it was just Cia's method of installing that messed it up since you mentioned that it might not work if you alter the jar, then that's probably what messed me up. If you did even understand what I just said, it would be great if you could help xP
Not sure if it's on Gulliver or Little Blocks, but is there such thing as using too many little blocks? I'm building a "medium" size mini-house, and after about 3/4 of the way through my game lags quite severely every time I put down a little block, and sometimes it doesn't save some.
For those having issues with optifine. 1. install gulliver (don't think this works if you alter the forge jar) 2. find the version folder that gulliver is installed to 3. etc etc etc
Thanks for helping out Bran Muffin, he's one of my players on our server.
[I guess you'll find that out soon] ^^

Yes, more than likely it is because you're doing this on the manual-install version, where as the semi-auto-installer version by Tarig goes so far as to avoid base edits on the Forge JAR file as well.
If you want to try again, purge all the changes described in my Forge Client manual, and follow his semi-auto-installer method....
...his instructions are pretty bullet-proof, so I didn't think an install guide was necessary, especially with a fully-automated installer just around the corner. (which will basically have as instructions "double-click on installer, wait, and enjoy")

Ohhhhhhhhhh yes, that's definitely Little Blocks. Each Little Chunk is the equivalent of a main chunk, except it only takes the space of one regular block, so you can imagine how big that starts to get.
Just to give you an idea... when importing some of the Dravics world into my server (which does not have LIttleBlocks), the total usable areas of interest (e.g., Eclipse, Spawn, Dawnstar, etc) only took up about 400MB worth). And yet the total map file when uncompressed was roughly around 3.6GB, and a good chunk of that was very likely from Little Blocks data!

using the default game directory = works
changing the GD = crash
hmm looks like I had a typo in the GD somehow

Also, do you know how to fix the Optifine glitch where it will show you as x1 in first person mode even if you're a different size?
Oh cool! I like your MC Forum, Bran Muffin. ^^
And you're quite welcome! Also, thanks for my nommies!

2. find the version folder that gulliver is installed to
