when i try to install this mod, a config file generates but there's nothing written on it. I'm using the latest version (2.2.7) Is this a bug or how do i Fix it?
EDIT: Nevermind I edited a few of my installed mods and now it's working! cool mod BTW
I just wanted to add in a word of encouragement to ScottKillen, MisterFiber, and all others who are working on the ExtraBiomesXL mod. I cannot thank you or praise you enough for this gift to the community. It is THIS mod that brought back the magic of Minecraft for me. Nothing beats wandering the landscape to discover beautiful sights which leave me breathless.
If anyone remembers the cliff and mountain formations such as those from the seed "gargamel", this will bring back fond memories. For those who loved pre-1.8 world generators, ExtraBiomesXL is the solution to your problems, and MORE than that...I cannot praise it highly enough.
Truly there are days I wonder why Mojang has not already approached this team and asked to integrate ExtraBiomesXL into the default game. It adds so many possibilities to the terrain and enhances the natural beauty of the game, landscape has always been an important factor in Minecraft for those who can appreciate it.
Thank you for the encouragement. Folks like you and others on this thread are some of the most encouraging players I know...making this and the thread for Bunyan two of the nicest thread for Minecraft mods...but I may be slightly biased.
MisterFiber is truly a genius. When I first played this mod, I had an experience similar to yours and knew I would never enjoy Minecraft again if I had to play without the mod...and so I ended up on the team. If it weren't for MisterFiber, I'd have stopped Minecraft long ago.
BTW, for those of you who like epic beauty, I highly recommend the Forgotten Land survival map. It is not Extrabiomes, but it is every bit a work of art.

Hopefully we'll see an advancement of modded terrain generation in the future what could throw out results like the Forgotten Lands survival adventure map.

I have a different problem... its not htat i it crashes...
I have minecraft with shaders already installed and working properly... then i put modloader and forge in and extrabiomesxl to mod folder and all of a sudden, extrabiomes is on, but shaders are gone...
That mod's instructions say to install it last, after every other mod that you put in the jar file. I'm not sure why you thought to ask us hereabout how to get thatmod working, but you were right...we were able to help!
I have a question, recently there is a mod that I have been playing with that adds more mobs into Minecraft, but as of the moment, the ones that are suppose to spawn anywhere do not spawn in the boimes added by ExtraBiomesXL... I am not sure if it is because it is not a Forge mod (yet), or if it is something that has to do with coding... Can someone please help me with his delima?
I was also wondering if it would be possable to be able to adopt a bit of the API from this mod to add alittle more compitableity with the other mod in question, making it where the newly added mobs are able to spawn in specific biomes (such as the case with Mooshrooms only spawning in Mushroom Biomes), even though the other mod in question is not a Forge mod yet...
The other mod in question is Grimoire of Gaia, and I would appreciate any help with these problems/question.

Hi, FryoKnight!
Our API works even for mods that don't depend on Forge. The API currently exposes our biomes and is used by mods like Mo'Creatures and AtmosMobs. The file they need to include in the mod is here. They should be able to figure it out, but if the mod authors have trouble, they can PM me for help.

Honestly, I was the one that was wanting to go and add compatibility between the two mods, seeing as the owner of the mod is currently busy adding and/or changing and removing mobs at the moment. Only problems are is that I would have to ask the mod owner if I can see the code so I can do so, plus I have no Idea on what to do, seeing as I have never mess with Java Coding before... ^-^" Though if someone is will to teach me, I am willing to learn (or at least try). ^w^
A note to Scott & MisterFiber:
I absolutely love this mod and what it brings to Minecraft as a whole, as I had said earlier in the thread, I am really surprised that Jeb and the other Minecraft devs haven't found this and integrated it into core Minecraft. And like you had said in the OP, this mod is completely noninvasive to Minecraft, and that applaud. As a beginner modder, I can take into appreciation of the code used.
I can't wait for the update for 1.3.1 to come once Forge is ready to roll, I know that you'll do great things with it. Love you guys, seriously.
Seasons? It is an ancient mod that never updated for Minecraft 1.0.
An please don't ask for updates. It is against forum rules, insulting to MisterFiber and I, rude to those who come here to discuss the mod and results in you getting in trouble with the admins and a bunch of people putting you on their ignore list.
Umm, Scott, you do know that Grim3212 is updating The Seasons Mod to 1.3.x... o.o
On the update begging part, I have already stated my position on that part in my last post... o-o

just simple question, are you planning on making sort of a beta release to go along with buildcraft 3.1.6.## (more importantly forestry 1.4.9.12) so that forestry and EBXL work together?

Thanks a ton, AO. If I can help you out while trying to get started in modding, please let me know.

Hmmm....nope. I'm normally in a coding hole somewhere...and have been taking the time while Forge is being updated to get some playing time in...so, in my reality, I don't get any news about such things...I apologize to Diego9743. I googled Seasons, but didn't look far enough down the results to see that Grim had taken up the cause...
I also like to revise my answer to him: Should Grim ask us to, or provide and API for us to use, we will do whatever we can to be compatible with Seasons. MisterFiber and I believe that mods are better when modders work together.

if not no worries am just wondering!!
thanks
No plans for a beta, though we plan to maintain the compatibility we have with those mods currently and will adjust to whatever the genius of SirSengir produces next.
Also...as he has already done a few times, if I don't get to forestry issues quickly enough, I am sure that I'll get ninja'd by mistaqur and wake up to his shiny new code in Extrabiomes!
EDIT: Nevermind I edited a few of my installed mods and now it's working! cool mod BTW
See the OP beneath the download link for written instructions.

This is the holy grail.
Get a pencil, and shade your screen in vigorously with the graphite.
Seriously, you'll get it to work like you would any other mod.
and try reading the last page (325) where it's discussed in depth.

Your picture (or whatever it is) isn't showing, just so you know.
Looks real epic. It'd be awesome for my server. Can't wait to try it out.
