I have been working on a mod that adds some real life recipies to minecraft. I'm sorry if it sucks, but it's my first mod and I had quite a few obstacles on the way to completion. The recipies are:
I added this recipie due to the fact that diamond is basically compressed carbon.
You can then make diamond with your diamond shards.
You can drink bowls of milk, but it doesn't satisfy much hunger.
Cheese is cool, so you gotta make cheese!
And who never wanted to have the greatest breakfast ever in minecraft, toast!
Then, you can turn your milk into some butter.
And then, you can make your breakfast complete with some butter on your toast!
You can now make crackers!
And add some cheese and you've got the perfect snack!
you can make spears of wood,
stone,
Iron,
gold,
and diamond!
All spears have the same effect as a sword.
4.1: First Realease!
4.11: Changed the recipie for diamonds (Was Way overpowered)
Added butter and buttered toast.
4.16: Added crackers and cheese and crackers.
Updated for 1.2
4.2: Merged the 2 class files into one.
Put all the images in a folder to help stop minecraft.jar from being cluttered.
4.25: Updated for Minecraft 1.2.5
4.3: Changed the file to a .zip format, so now you can just put it in your /mods folder instead of in the minecraft.jar (Although you still can.)
Made it so recipies can be made anywhere on the crafting table from the mod where the recipie will fit.
Added spears.
4.45: Added 5 New types of ores and tools for them, although no armor (Yet). They all have the same durability and strength as diamond. +Changed the title screen to have RealLifeMod Where you can see the version, go to the website and forum, and donate! + Added the GemEnumToolMaterial, although it serves no purpose at the moment.

Known bugs:
Crackers show up whenever you open a crafting grid as if they are crafted from air.
The gems (Aside from rubies) when harvested drop their own ore, cannot be smelted, and can be harvested easily with a wooden pickaxe.
All gem tools (Other than spears) Cannot be normally crafted, and some cannot be crafted at all.
Please post if you find any more bugs!
To install you need modloader which can be found here and then extract everything from the archive and add it to your minecraft.jar. (Or as of 4.3 you can just put the .zip file into your mods folder
in .minecraft.)

The 9 coal to diamond is kinda overpowered. Maybe you should make it so that it would make 1 half of a diamond? Then you would need 18 coal to make 1 diamond.

Doesn't look bad for a first mod. The coal to diamond is very OP though -- you might want to try and have 9 coal make a "Carbon Chunk" or something, and then 9 Carbon Chunks make a diamond.
i don't like the idea of coal to diamond, it would make diamond WAY more cheaper to get. but all the other ideas are fine.

if i behave weird in my post; it's not that i am weird actually. I like to pretend being weird just for the satisfaction of me and to make the community feel more normal. herpy herpy derp. btw, comic sans.
Well, seeing how diamonds are carbon under intense pressure and heat (I just learned this a few days ago, I'm in the 6th grade), you should make the crafting recipe like this:

I'll probably add this in an update, probably the next one I do, since this is a pretty big flaw.

This might be a little early, but I am taking a poll on what people would like to be added in the next update(Which I decided would be 4.11). So post on here what you would like and I'll see what I can do.
Well, since it takes heat and pressure it might be better using coal surrounded by tnt or possibly tnt with a blaze rod under the coal.
then for balance, vary the amount of coal needed to make N diamond(s)..
say 64 coal = 1 diamond

That would make one diamond fragment. It requires four diamond fragments to make one diamond.
DF- Diamond Fragment
DF: DF: Air:
DF: DF: Air:
Air: Air: Air
maybe it should be a quarter diamond or a ninth of a diamond, and you craft THAT into a diamond. That might be better.

great idea! I'll try it with a future update.
