“Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid; humans are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant; together they are powerful beyond imagination."
I have a server world with Dynamic Mazes installed, among many other mods. When I went exploring today I found the first maze in the world, but instead of the leaf blocks the walls were all lanterns. While it looked super cool (kind of like Alice in Wonderland), it also caused a wicked amount of lag. The server did not crash but the game play was a bit tricky as the lanterns didn't keep the angry wolves IN the maze and they massacred me as I was exploring nearby, the lag definitely didn't help the battle for me at all. SO, I have a feeling that this may have occurred because of some sort of switch of block id's (I have idfix installed, and sometimes it decides to switch things up on me), or maybe this is some crazy new maze? If it is an id error, how do I best remedy it and re-set the mazes in the world? OR, if it is a new maze type, how can I disable it in the configs so I don't have the lag issues?
Thanks.
Don't believe that I found an Alice in Wonderland maze? - Video evidence can be found here:

Wow, that is interesting
It seems you have installed Mazes mod and played for some time. Then you installed some kind of lantern mod and your id fixer decided to use my leaf block id as id for the new lantern and assigned new id to my leaf block. The only solution that comes to mind is that you find out what id your lantern currently have and then manually set the leaf id to this number (via config file generated by my mod) and then you set different new id for the lanterns. The downside would be that all lanterns in your world will be replaced by my leaf blocks. Also, I don't know how your id fixer works, but it might need some work with it, or even disabling it completely.
Could you add the maze blocks a fence-like property so players can't climb it with smart moving?
Or maybe just add fences on them...
Hmm... I'll give it a thought. But I don't promise it. Remember they can always simply place a few blocks next to the maze and climb up there. The bigger challenge are underground mazes
To everyone: I'm working on the update. I would like to promise you I will finish it in a few days and say only couple of errors left, but even these couple of errors can turn out to be very nasty to fix, not to mention my semester just started. But don't worry, the update will come soon!
Feed The Beast is a modpack launcher, allowing you to play modpacks without modifying your vanilla minecraft files, so that you won't need to worry about things like your vanilla words getting deleted or something and it's much easier to install. However, Feed The Beast (FTB) only supports some few selected FTB modpacks while another modpack launcher called Technic Launcher allows users to more freely upload their modpacks to their database that you easily can add to the launchet to install. I'm personally using Technic Launcher for my modpack: MineWind.(Technic page)
I'm intrested in adding your mod in my modpack, but only if you are ok with it.
Ah, thanks for explanation. Jince July I got some info on the topic, but not is such detail.

Dedicated Server Crash that is happening infrequently. I think it is an adverse reaction in regards to the Still Hungry mod. Let me know if it something fixable or if I should trash the other mod.
No, Bukkit's my thing now

can you add your config so we can maybe change them stone bricks to monster stone bricks (silver fish)
and maybe have the config let us set the default block instead of leaves?
because I woule like to change the leaves ontop to obsidian (for my own reasons)
also any news on your cave gen mod?
I'm glad you like it
Actually, stone bricks are replaced by silverfish stone bricks at random.
Config entry for the surface block would be possible, but I'm not working on updates right now, sorry.
Unfortunatelly, I don't have much time now, as I'm finishing my bachelor's thesis. But once it is done, I will continue my works on all updates
New monsters are not focus of this mod, so don't expect them in any future version.

Ketchup is jelly!
The higher the rarity number, the more mazes will generate
