I didn't see it in the thread but I may have missed it. Was there any talk of teleportation/gate rune? Back in beta there was a multiplayer rune mod that let you have lots of different teleport points. You could have whole networks of 'gates' and I have ever since been looking for something similar. How about whatever design you feel is appropriate and then whatever type of block is below the center of it determines what other gate it matches up with? Could even have it so you have a 'out-going' and 'in-coming' rune if you want to split it up.

Somebody did mention a teleportation rune. I think i would be awesome if you could make the identifier out of dust.

I almost don't care how he does it, I just so so sooooo badly want this feature in something. It's in IC2 but is at the absolute top end, and it's in Thaumcraft but I haven't liked how that mod has done everything else where as this one, oh god I would upgrade to 1.1 for this if it had that feature.
Very nice! You did a great job on this, thank you :biggrin.gif:

I do plan to make a tele rune, probably will have it in the next update, though it won't exactly be cheap :tongue.gif:
Diamond dust and glowstone-redstone dust for even more complex and powerful runes.
A 'rotation' rune: Center design checks how much is rotated(90, 180, 270), and the corners extend to a square as big as you want. Sacrifice: an Ender pearl. On activation, rotates the ENTIRE square and anything below by the designated angle.
Lighting trap rune? Implosion rune?
The ability to craft runic plant dust out of seeds. They're technically plant matter right?(There's also a ton of them, and they multiply like crazy)

I have some interesting suggestions:

Speed rune(like the bounce rune).
Anti-gravity rune?
Just some cool things I thought up of.
All of those runes are possible and probable, the rotation rune being my favorite :tongue.gif: sounds like a programming challenge :smile.gif:
As for more dusts, my original idea was to only make dusts out of materials that are otherwise mostly useless or neglected in average gameplay, though I may include using seeds for plant dust.

how about leaf blocks instead, or apples?
Both are renewable, and plant matter.
But they are also difficult or costly to acquire.
But If you're gonna do apples, make it back to the original quantities: 8 dust per recepie.
Also, I like the idea of something like a duplication rune, you should limit it though to only things like iron, redstone, gold, lapis, and flint. Base items like that, but nothing like diamonds :tongue.gif:
It should be expensive, ie blaze powder.

Apples would not be very good for making runic plant dust, because it only has something like 1/1000 chance to spawn.

It's nice to have some of the more 'useless' things turned into dust, but the higher end stuff should definitely eat up more 'valuable' dusts. Besides, who doesn't end up with more redstone dust than they know what to do with >_<

I like redstone....though that may be because I'm a programmer :tongue.gif:
I'm probably just not doing this properly, but I can't craft dust at all. If I use TMI I can find and use the dust, but aside from that I'm unable to make it. Help would be appreciated.
I got a few suggestions for new (or revised) runes:
1. Maybe instead of just resurrecting mobs, they become your undead bodyguard?
2. Judgement Rune: Summons a meteor to reign down the ultimate judgement onto the surrounding area (Area of Affect configurable)
3. Armour Rune: sacrifice the amount of ore to make a full set of armor (for example 24 diamond = full set of diamond armor). Once summoned you get a full set of armor with low, medium, or high tier enchantments depending on what dust you used.
4. Shelter Rune: creates a small hut out of the material you sacrificed.
5. (this last one is probably the most useless one, but it makes use of an item Jeb has yet to implement any usage). Dragon Rune: Now you have a use out of that dragon egg! After sacrificing the egg, you can now rematch the reborn Ender Dragon (only works within the End).
EDIT: It seems I've also ran into a bug. My head is now permanently on fire. I've checked my other maps to see if my head would still be on fire, but only on my test map.
I have been looking for a mod like this since i started playing minecraft! It has everything i want and more! Keep up the good work! also any plans for teleportation runes?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit into Sightblinder's eye on the Last Day.

You win! That's what I've been looking for forever in a minecraft mod. You've got a new convert now :biggrin.gif:
