Thanks, I prefer to manually install each and every mod/api. The shared files got me investigating and it turns out ID Checker and Forge both edit acy.class and yy.class, so I omitted those from ID Checker when I dropped it into my .jar, and it's all good :biggrin.gif:. And the best thing is that the ID file generated in my minecraft backups folder where I like to store all my useful minecraft stuff.
Thanks again.
There is a Forge Compatible version out, so just use that one.

There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.
I am having a weird issue where the menu is not popping up. I start minecraft and then it crashes due to a block id conflict. I am guessing that this mod is suppose to appear right before the ID conflict, however it does not.

awesome mod, this would make installing many mods much easier.
are there any known conflicts with other mods?
Probably, yes? There's no comprehensive list. Best bet is to make a backup and just leap out into the unknown of 'trying it out'. Honestly, no other process will be faster at identifying incompatibilities for your particular installation list.
If you're really feeling tenacious, you could search the thread for each mod you have, but see above.
Figured it out. Ran out of terrain sprites. Been so long since I have run into that, that I forgot about their existence.

Any way around red power 2's auto assign? Both this and id resolver crash at start up if a red power 2 slot is taken. Meaning you have to manually edit the Ids.
You can toggle Redpower's AutoAssign in its config. I think that should allow you to get past the crash.
I know what you are describing - I encountered it as well in the prcoess of trying to get some other mods to work with it. Generally, I let the bigger "Core" mods keep their IDs intact and reassign the smaller add-ons if needed.

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
Hello,
I'm new to Minecraft and installing it's mods. I've recently encountered a problem with two conflicting Block IDs. I downloaded this mod in hopes to resolve this issue. But unfortunately I have gotten nowhere. Is it possible you could enlighten me on the possible issue that plagues my installation of Minecraft?
I recently installed, using MC Patcher, the Aether Mod along with Audio Mod, Modloader, ModloaderMP, Player API, ShockAhPI successfully. I then decided I would install Too Many Items and Sphax's Light Mod. This is when I got an error message. I read through and I realized it had many conflicting blocks. So I came here and downloaded your ID Resolver (3.0, Non-Minecraft Forge). Now my installation won't work. I was wondering if there was something I may have done wrong? Or maybe two or more mods I installed shouldn't be installed together?
I would like to know before I start tinkering even more and make things even more complicated than they must be.
I appreciate your help,
Thank you!
Don't know if somebody already brought this to your attention but what if ID checker doesn't intercept the id's and minecraft still crashes?
That means you have some other problem that ID Checker can't do anything about. Might be running out of sprites, that crashes the game before it gets to block ids.
Could also be referring to the way it interacts with RedPower2's auto-assign.
In that case, look in your .minecraft folder for the text file containing the available IDs, and manually assign them.

I saw that from a post that I should have looked at before, is there any way to add more sprites?
There's a mod that adds a bit to block IDs, apparently allowing 4096 or something crazy... but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't already have a very good idea of what they're doing. There's no guarantee that it's compatible with the mods you're using.

No way around it, you're going to have to research the interactions of your mods yourself. There's no comprehensive compatibility list. Thankfully the thread search function here works, so you'll be able to cross-check each OP and its thread for people talking about your other mods and whether they work.

the problem is that mcpatcher has problems with the aether that this mod cant help with but there are some tutorials on how to get them compatible with eachother.

Nothing overwrites ID Checker, which I installed last.
Looking through the pages for any mention of mods I use.

You need crash log bro...
That's weird, it is supposed to intercept those, and I see idchecker=on there. Definitely need an error log.

Not that I've seen, other than using Forge-compatible mods for the most part.
