Huh, if ores won't generate- how did you get your Tauvelite/Tau Blade in the map you were just playing? go to new areas/new chunks off the map?
I'll probably take a serious look at the Zeppelin mod if I can figure out how many block IDs I have left. BTW, I'm feeling lazy so instead of looking this up I'll ask the resident expert: I know I have up to number 255 for block IDs, but at what number do the Vanilla block IDs stop so I know I have from X-255 to play around with?
EDIT: Based on the info I found, seems that blocks 125-255 are free blocks?
@Pelirow: Wasn't the block ID limit recently raised to something in the region of 4000? Or was that something else?
I may or may not have acquired it illegitimately... >.> <.<
Minecraft has 4096 potential block IDs but only 255 effective block IDs. In essence, Minecraft can sort of register up to 4096 block IDs but it doesn't work right and can lead to Minecraft going all explode-y on you if you try to set a block ID to something higher than 255. So, yeah, 125-255 are your free IDs.
However, there are only ~35 terrain indices so, asssuming every mod-added block uses the same texture for all sides of the block, you can only add 35 new blocks before Minecraft runs out of space in terrain.png for ModLoader to slam new block textures into.

Mmm, interesting. I haven't encountered terrain indices problems yet, only sprite indices.
Are there plans to increase the number of terrain indices? I believe Forge deals with the sprite indices problem, but not sure about terrain indices.
I think there's a mod that attempts to unlock all 4096 block IDs, but not sure I want to go anywhere near that. There's about 3 or 4 other mid-sized mod I'd love to add but probably will have difficulties with.
Downloaded the Zeppelin mod, it's pretty nifty. It'd probably go VERY well with the Slopes mod if it will register those shaped blocks. If it does, you can really make some sweet looking airships.
Of course, Slopes is one of those mods I'm interested in but probably don't have the room for in my mods folder. Would make for some awesome building in general, if I could stand to lose the adventuring content I have, which I'm not!

I wouldn't know. I have a feeling there probably is. Or that some alternative method to adding terrain textures and sprites will be implementing with the plug-in API. It wouldn't make sense for Jeb to go "oh, we ran out of space for new block textures. Sucks to be you lolol."
Forge should fix any indexing issue.
Real builders can make sweet airships without slopes.

Back to on topic, sometime after dinner tonight, I'm going to work on some tweaks to existing content in Swords+ and release another tweak update.
I feel some of the content has gotten a bit unbalanced so I'm going to re-balance it better.

BTT seems to introduce some oddities with monster AI. I notice creepers running away from me at times, and I often see zombies get "confused" and kind of circle in place, usually near a ledge. Skeletons often stand still and don't move, I don't know if this is intentional. I noticed that I couldn't lure a skeleton out of the water it was in during daylight - I don't know if this is intentional, but it's a nice touch.
The game also seems laggier with BTT enabled, though that could just be a matter of perception. It could also be a different mod causing issues, especially since Hangable Maps requires ModLoaderMP and Forge now includes its own ModLoaderMP thing...

If you're near water, Creepers might run away from you. I'm still tweaking that AI to make it work better.
The Zombie and Skeleton things are just natural to Minecraft. The AI pathfinding isn't perfect and Skeletons tend to just focus on staying in the water during daytime.
It is a matter of perception or computer performance. Minecraft with BTT runs fine for me but then again I have a 3.3Ghz quad-core desktop with 16 Gigs of RAM.

I only have 4ghz of ram and it runs fine.
I don't see how BTT would effect your performance at all since all it adds if the Nymphs and some AI.
Additional calculations per computational cycle. Computer has to crunch more numbers. It usually introduces only minute fractions of seconds of lag but if you're running particularly many things, a particularly slow computer, or code that is particularly... unoptimized, that lag can add up to noticeable seconds.

*coughs* We wouldn't have any of that would we? *coughs*

Btw for BTT think we could get some kinda jungle mobs? I know it's been done before but how about man eating plants? Something that has a long range and bites or perhaps ones that shoot poison at you?

Why are you asking me? Ask Notch, Jeb, and Jonkagstrom. They wrote the code. I'm merely implementing it in new ways.

I was thinking about perhaps adding a new species of spider that spawns in jungles.
Possibly, a new kind of insect too.

Jumping spider? Give them booster jumps? Can we have them jump from trees at us? And have super nasty poison that gives like a 30sec nausea effect?
I was thinking of making them be particularly small spiders that generate web traps. A 30 second nausea effect would make the player nauseous in real life. If anything, they'd inflict a weakness and/or blindness effect.

Also, Pel, I think you're the one who actually donated to me, right?
Paypal has been a consistent jerk and pretty much refuses to let me verify myself easily so your donation will be auto-declined sometime on the 21st.

Eh, so much for trying to modestly contribute to your future endeavors!
'better testificates' looks awesome, is there any way to configure which mob you want modified? Or just have the passive mob tweaks?
The OP does indeed detail which class files to drag into the .jar based on preferences. If you want to be more specific than "all hostiles" and "all passives", I can PM you what obfuscated class file is what specifically.
Eh, so much for trying to modestly contribute to your future endeavors!
Hopefully I can rectify the situation sometime soon.
The problem is that the verification I need to accept donations requires bank account credentials but the process for verifying those accounts won't work for me. Basically, they debit and then credit your account twice and you have to tell them what the amounts are to verify. I'm 98% certain that there's no way for me to check this because I don't believe the statements I get actually tell me anything since it's a savings account rather than a checking account.
To date, I have no clue why Paypal lets you link savings accounts. Maybe my bank is just ... differently abled.

I got lost in a cave, ran out of food, half-starved, and had to force my way back up. Popped up in the moat around my house. Perfect!

Ran out of food?! It's SO easy to make a small wheat farm and then make a huge stack of break to stash around and carry with you. Tsk tsk.
I'm chomping at the bit to get back to Minecraft, this studying then exam are gonna be thrice as difficult because of that! The only thing I could justify was fiddling with the Zeppelin Mod a little to see if it was worth it. Now that I know it's worth it, I'm chomping even worse because I want to attempt to recreate the Weatherlight or the Predator airship. I haven't played Magic in years but I always loved the floating ships from the earlier versions.

I have a small wheat farm. I was intending on only doing some light spelunking as I mined cobble, so I didn't have much food on me (about 10 bread). Then I found a cave. Then I proceeded to take three steps into it, place my couple of torches on hand, turn around, and somehow got lost already.
Was worth it though. Scored 3 diamonds (made myself my first diamond pickaxe) and enough Tauvelite dust to fuel it forever.

You mean until you fall into lava and permanently lose the pickaxe and the dust.
The Alchemy Bag from EE2 is really nice in that regards!

Interesting- after installing BTT, I don't think there are any balancing issues, but using the blades in vanilla is naturally overpowered.
Kinda curious to see how you plan to re-balance with both vanilla and BTT in mind.
The game also seems laggier with BTT enabled, though that could just be a matter of perception. It could also be a different mod causing issues, especially since Hangable Maps requires ModLoaderMP and Forge now includes its own ModLoaderMP thing...
Some of the blades like the Great and Titania Blades don't really have any weaknesses so I will be giving them some. That among other things.
