-I'm not promoting or anything, but Balkon's weapon's mod has that with a couple of cool weapons, Mine and Blade/ Battle Gear isn't focusing on weapons, it focuses on an improved combat gameplay/system, plus IT IS compatible with Balkon's. Thus reducing Nerdboy's work for your request.
I think it would be cool if you could have splash potions in one hand could you add this?

-throwables won't function right in the dual wield slot. that, and I think it's part of Nerd boy's choice to disregard all right-clickable items to not work for the dual wield slot -including splash potions
Are you serious? The creator of the mod's comment was RIGHT before yours, it said right there that he's not updating yet.

I see to have an issue entering the nether, my minecraft never gives me an error log so maybe if someone can tell me how to make it give me one? I crashed as soon as i entered the nether using this mod, I'm using 1.2.4 not 1.2.5.
Saw alot of these reports on the twilight forest topic, and just tested it myself, seems this crashes with it for some reason, which is too bad, i was willing to give up the keep items on death mod for this, but i draw the line at twilight forest.

it will do that just log in again and it will be fine.
EDIT:I just tested it and it only did it once so the first time you enter the nether with the mod on any map it will crash but wont crash again.

I may be able to get it working in the off hand only. But if I was to do splash potions I would also want to do normal potions. What I would likely do is handle it similar to the torch, where you can't actually hit mobs while holding the potion, instead it would just preform the normal right click function (drink or throw).
By the way the crash caused by throwing weapons (in theory) should only be caused by weapons in the main hand

Generate a txt file containing all the output from minecraft
Open the text file using notepad.
This should help with anyone having crashes the either just display a black screen or close to quickly.

I still wouldn't support this, I am not 100% sure you will not run into problems. You are welcome to try but don't blame me if it crashes
may take some time since i already reinstalled keep items on death which is a direct instillation to the .jar, i could spread the word to the twilight forest thread and have one of the others do it though.

What i meant was it would take time to remove it, put this in, then remove this and put that back in, already posted it on twilight forest, i'l test it myself if there isn't another response soon though.
I don't know if this has been commented on or fixed already, but when I installed the Smart Moving mod with this one, the off-hand weapon disappeared in third person, but in first person, it's still there.

No, because the pistols use right-click to shoot so only your off hand pistol would work if you set it to even have pistols with battlegear.ini.

If you install everything correctly, it should work with no problems. I currently have 1.2.5 and it works great.

I just came across this mod, after installing it and playing with it. I must say...it freaking rocks
