Hey nerd boy, I just downloaded the mod again... And I'm still having issues with the Shield not staying on my arm in 3rd person, I thought you fixed that...?
I REALLY love this mod, but I can't stand that bug.
The shield should move to the back of the player model when a non valid weapon is equiped (any item that does not normally block). There was no other way for me to work out which items had a right click function.
If it is not staying on your arm when you are holding the sword, then that is a bug. If so can you pleas post pics and let me know other mods you are using
is this compatibe with Bloodmod, TMI, And Dual Weild mod, along with Modloader and PAPI (Player API)
Well it is compatable with Modloader and PlayerAPI (as it requires them). It is also compatable with TMI (I use it for testing). I am not sure about Bloodmod, but i suspect it is. I doubt it is compatible with any sort of dual Wielding mod as the shield will likely render over the off-hand item. In fact I don't even know what this last one is.

I cannot take screenshots at the moment, but it's the same issue I reported earlier in the thread, where the shield will spin around the body when I look around, and it never stays in place.

I thought this was because of smart moving, because that's what I was told. I thought you fixed that in the new update.

The mods I have installed are MAtmos, TMI, Smart moving, Optifine, and mob bikes.
hmm still sounds like the smart moving bug. Are you using the mod loader version of smart moving ? Because this is the one it checks for. If not which version are you using?
EDIT: I also think I may have fixed the "dark sky" & "funny text" bugs. It was caused by the code that is responsible for rendering the shield in the item box enabling the "Lighting" when it should be disabled at that stage. The reason I couldn't see it in the screenshots on the last page was because I hadn't yet re-written that part of code for the "custom GUI" feature.
After I upload the next update can people let me know if it is still playing up
Ok version 1.2.0 is out with the improved shield bash mechanics. Shield bash is now activated by attacking while blocking. A config file was also added which will be generated when you 1st run the mod (as well as bug fixes)
Also for anyone that was using my high res texture packs, you will have to re-download them.

Hmmm, attacking while blocking just makes me hit with my sword. Nerd-boy, id rather you allow to hit with your sword while blocking, so you should assign another action to trigger the shield bash such sprinting then blocking.
Strangely when i have your mod installed whenever i die i respawn with my items on me or at least a duplication of my items that are in the ground where i died. I have spc patched with player API patch of course, your shield mod and treecapitator. I have no idea what to do but its plain weird.
Another thing i forgot to mention is that when you equip a shield the sky color changes to a more darkish color. Is that a glitch?

Why the heck you want dual wielding?
Won't make things easier in MineCraft due the fact that mobs/players are one or two seconds invincible and dual wielding consits of speed where MineCraft is... let's say: Useless?
I rarely use the bow but quivers are one of the things which must be there!
... Or enchanting the shields.
Personally, I kinda agree with you. The main reason I want to do it is for the coding challenge (and the fact that I think I actually can do it).

That item bug sounds strange, never heard of or seen it before. As for the sky colour, yes it is a glitch but I thought I fixed it in the most recent version. Does it still happen on 1.2.0?

No probs. I also made the mod clean up al the old unused key controls. The left-click shield bash was the way I wanted to implement it at first, however I was missing 1 little thing.
As for planetminecraft, I think it would be better if I made it, only because then I could update both the forum & minecraft.net myself

Found an incompatibility with Balkon's. It doesn't crash anymore when you use a ranged weapon and the shield, but you can't shoot the crossbow etc. without it blocking with the shield.

Well all 4 choices are pretty close to each other, so there is interest in all 4 options. Even though the dual wielding is the most popular I am thinking I will go for either that or shield enchantments. The main reason I say shield enchantments is because that will basically mean I finish off the shields

Yeah I know, same thing happens with the musket and blow-dart. I prevented the crash because I caught the thrown error. It is because Balkon uses the block action as his "default" action, even if it is not used. I have talked to him about this and he said he will try and change it to promote tighter integration

See on the right top side when ever you block with a shield that pixel disappears... Its really annoying.
