A shifter is a block that similarly to pistons pushes blocks. Except, a Shifter can push blocks it is not touching. The Distance that the Shifter can push can be changed by right clicking it to open its GUI then typing in the text box. It will not push obsidian bedrock or blocks with Tile Entities(Chests, Furnaces, etc.).
Can you make the Shifters easier to place? Because when i place it, it always faces up.
Also I found this bug:
It crashes when you put in a letter instead of a number
Also the only way I figured out to place them easier is to put a block behind it.
I put a pusher horizontally (set at default 16 range) and placed a dirt block in front of it. It wouldn't push it.
I placed the dirt block 1 space away and pushed it 4 times (6 spaces away from the pusher) but on the 5th time (7 spaces away), the dirt block disappeared into thin air.
I then set up:
[push->] [space] [dirt] [dirt] [dirt] [dirt] [dirt] [lots of empty space].
Each time I pushed it, the last dirt block disappeared until I had:
[push->] [space] [space] [space] [space] [space] [dirt] [lots of empty space],
Now the sides of the dirt block (facing the pusher and ground) were invisible and I could see caves, lava, and the bottom of my world.
I didn't bother testing the pull shifter.
I tested this on a clean jar with ML, AudioM, CJB's, TMI, GUIApi, & SPC installed. Just FYI.
P.S. if this is a bug and after you fix it, could you make a config file so we can customize the Block ID #s?

1. sometimes the game doesn't want to render far away actions like if you're watching pistons from a distance.
2. what was your render distance. the dissapearing blocks could be lag or a lack of loaded chunks(though most likely lag)
3. sometimes it just bugs out in creative mode. I have no idea why...

I have the render distance on far but i don't think that was the problem as i was basically standing next to the pusher and looking at the ground (not far off to the horizon). When i was testing the mod i was playing SSP offline in a brand new world with no constructions or mobs nearby. The world chunks I was playing in were fully loaded too. Oh - and it was in survival mode, not creative. I also forgot to mention, i actually walked in the space where the block should have been pushed to and passed through it unimpeded. The blocks simply were no longer there.
<pause>
I just tried it again. Same issue. Blocks vanish when pushed a distance greater the 6 spaces away from the shifter. Last block pushed before disappearing becomes a glitched "see through the world" block ala all those "tried to make glowing glass but it bugged out so let's call it a mod" blocks that were really popular in MC 1.5_01-1.7.3 Definitely an issue with the mod I think.
P.S. I'm not using Optifine or any other rendering tweaks.

So, what's up with the mod?
