As much as I love StarCraft, I wont be downloading this.
Suggestions:
- Make the ores blend a lot better with the environment, they don't fit at all with the Minecraft theme.
- The Zealots shouldn't be sticking their arms out like a Zombie, that doesn't make sense to me.
- Make it so the Zealots have a visible blade attached to their wrist when provoked. This'll both improve the aesthetic and be functional so you know whether or not to approach them.
- Improve the sprites, they don't really look good. Keep in mind minerals are a much lighter blue.
- Change the apparent vespene gas containers to cubes instead of cylinders. I believe the Protoss used cubes.
- Make it so the ores are placed on top of the world in bundles, similar to flowers. It'd be better if you could make them have a flower-based sprite (obviously retextured to look like minerals) too and still be mineable with a pickaxe. (Not sure if this is possible, but it'd be neat)
These are my personal thoughts. If all this was implemented, I'd seriously consider downloading.
Thanks for your input I'll work on making those changes though the blade sounds more advance them I am right now I'll take at a look at it. I am not a good texture artist and I really need someone to texture for me. The flower is totally possible and I'll work on it.
I also have very plausible and sensible suggestions, as I love SC2. Make a block formation that spawns in the world called a geyser. The geysers have 1 block in the middle. A green liquid, to represent Vespene. If you place a block called a harvester within 2 blocks from the vespene liquid (the geyser and vespene liquid are unminable and un-buckatable), it will automatically collect vespene in intervals of time, maybe like 10 seconds. Also, make the mineral block drop 5 mineral shards when broken, and change the texture to an actual ore looking block.
-ok so the zealots shouldn't be totally blockey like zombies. you should try to make it more slimmer in the abs/chest area like them being seprate blocks rather than the regular blockey shape of mobs.
-also if your gonna make the minerals the flower shape u should make them more light blue and spawn in a sorta u shape but more spread out.
-and lastly if ur gonna make the harvester u should make it a craftable item that wen right clicked when in hand it turns into a harvester mob also u should try doing that for probes if u make probes

Is it you want a better texture or a lighter blue? Also what do you think about gas.
The texture's fine, I think the color could look a little more similar to those though. Maybe having the outline lighter than the coloring, ya know, similar to what were in those images. But they're acceptable as they are now if you want to keep them that way.
I'm thinking of a variation of VGFreak's method of the Vespene Gas.
There would be a small cluster of 5 blocks called 'Vespene Geyser'. I suppose in a similar fashion to how the Nether portal detects if it's the right shape, the game would detect if the Vespene Geyser blocks are in a bowl shape and if so, it would spawn a Vespene Liquid block inside it. You can gather that (using a bucket) and over time it would generate another Vespene Liquid.
You could them craft it into a Vespene Orb by putting that Vespene Liquid Bucket in a crafting table surrounded by Glass. Would refund the bucket similarly to cake.
I'm working on a variation of what you asked for, for the gas. Along with a new texture. I'll work on a new model for the zealot but that isn't top on the list right now. Thanks guys your input is shaping the mod to look nice.

I think this is a great idea! With a little work and maybe some help from other modders this could possibly one of the best mods out there! Keep up the good work!
oh hey you should change to names of stuff too cause ur in the copyright zone of infringement so probably change some off the names and stuff so its not in the copyright area!!
Personally, I don't think a starcraft mod would work too well. Everything goes into groups! And it would take loads of work too make different buildings as well. You'd have to either miss out loads of things, or spend ages doing everything. Some things you just can't miss out but couldn't be done- E.G zergling attacks. If you want the right number of zerglings in each swarm, it would crash some peoples computers. And what about Hydralisks and Roaches? They would need need to fit in as well, probably alongside infestors. Infestors which would have to be made by heavy amounts of coding. And even when that's been done, what about air units, especcially big ones, like carriers, battlecruisers and the monstrously big mothership, along with it's cloaking field? How would you even code that, anyway? How would you code vikings to go from air to ground, or siege tanks to go into siege mode.? And then there's your large ground units. What about the massively oversized Collossus, an Ultralisk, or Thors? They wouldn't fit anywhere, so how would they spawn? And with all of the stuff I have already named, there's all sorts of other stuff that you'd have to add too. I'm not sure how many people play Starcraft and also know how to make minecraft mods of thiss scale. I don't think this is even possible to do well. I'm sorry if people reading this comment don't understand what I just said. I play both Minecraft and Starcraft alot. But what your left with when you take all of these things out is a couple of guys with guns, and some vicious close combat fighters.

If someone was to make any mod of this scale it wouldn't be minecraft anymore it would be a pixel version of starcraft which the thought of that made me laugh.

Another thing guys I don't need these types of comments ideas or encouragement or help is all I am looking for.

Hey why not make like a infected terran that spawns at night like when on the mission where every night you get assaulted by the infected terrans until all the buildings are destroyed so if you find a build with like a mix of iron cobble and moss stone a infected terran spawner will be inside

Final someone make a starcraft mod!looks like its gunna be great. (btw, can you make little workers scv/drone/probe that look for ores? that would be awesome.)
Here's some suggestions for future additions and fixes.
- Minerals should glow ONLY if in darkness, But not glow if in sunlight.
- I shouldn't have to mention you should make guns :smile.gif:
- Zerg Biome
- Instead of zealots spawning everywhere, Terran units should.
- Nether can be remade into a dimension with protoss.
- Minerals should be bigger
- Night spawned special mobs like infestors, banelings, and possibly mutalisks.
I know most of them seems pretty impossible, But it will make the mod top quality.
I love those ideas i'm not sure I can add a new biome though without editing base classes. Some of the ideas are a bit out of my league but i am quickly learning and I hope to see the mod advance with some of your ideas. What should the Zealot Dimension look like and what terrain units would you prefer and any specific gun. I don't think I can make the minerals bigger since they are already a full size block. Thanks

I really could use a texture artist and or anyone that can do animation.

Sorry but this made me laugh I'm not making starcraft "starcraft" I'm just adding new features to minecraft mobs, items etc... with a starcraft theme. If someone was to make any mod of this scale it wouldn't be minecraft anymore it would be a pixel version of starcraft which the thought of that made me laugh.
Also I don't see blizzard throwing a fit if I make a starcraft related mod.(thanks for you concern though)

Looking really good from that angle. Only thing that seems off about it is the arm. The blade looks like it's consumed half the arm.
