I just tried to download and...nothing. Portal doesn't work. Is the mod updated to 1.4.6?
I deleted META-INF and minecraft.jar, and replaced minecraft.jar with the twilight forest download like the video said, but when I go into my world, build the portal, and throw a diamond in, nothing happens. 2 ideas: are you supposed to unzip the zip file for the download, or leave it as a zip file? Or I could just be building the portal wrong. How exactly do you build it?
by any chance do you have a not offline link to it? everything on the forge site is offline to me
No, I'm without an offline link unfortunately. Actually, the files aren't even the problem anymore. The problem now is going to the Twilight Forest realm causes extreme rubber banding / no textures. Only on the server though, single player is fine.

oh, darn. I want to play single player but the site is just going to be a butt till it fixes for me XD
Anyone know how to get in the towers, not the Lich towers but the ones made from towerwood? I could not find anything on the wiki referring to them. Sorry if I am missing something really obvious.

ok newbish Question, but how do you get into the new lich tower? I see no entrances, nor can I mine in, is there a special item I need now?
You can mine in, but at the moment the material is several times harder than obsidian. But you don't really need to, there's nothing much in them at the moment. They're a work in progress.
Whenever I update my game to the new version and install everything again it deletes everything from the mods. How do I prevent this?
I'm not sure. If you have a savegame with mod stuff in it, don't load that game without the mods installed? There may be something else obvious I'm not thinking of.
Well, assuming that there's no hat from this, will it permit rapid comparisons to determine which of two stacks is bigger? Do you put iron buckets or chests at the ends and let things go into them?
EDIT: So you're going to have something to balance out those Major trees. Nice.
The sorting tree, as intended, will move around items in nearby chests, merging stacks and putting similar items (currently defined as items sharing a creative mode tab) together. I'm resisting adding any more features, and I'm not totally sure it will even be useful.
It's an item (or well, a tree) I sometimes wish I had, when I play my own mod. I tend to make several informal bases and dump tons of treasure into chests without organizing it. Then I can never find anything. We'll see if this actually improves matters.
Hey, I just met you
And this is crazy,
But i want saplings,
So add them maybe
No seriously. I'm coming to this thread since 1.3.2 and still no saplings. Pwease?
There are definitely saplings lately for almost all the major tree types.
There's a dupe bug with the 1.14 version of Twilight Forest when used with Forestry (as part of the FTB Mindcrack Pack).
When you use the Uncrafting Table to uncraft torches, if you place 3 torches in it, you'll get a recipe that uses two beeswax and a stick to net 3 torches. If you add a 4th torch into the uncraft slot, it adds in the ghost items for the coal and stick recipe and keeps the other recipe in the middle, letting you take out two sticks, a piece of coal, and two beeswax. You can pretty much get free coal this way, and there's likely to be other recipes that may cause this sort of issue as well.
Thanks for the report! I'll see if I can fix that.
Dude, Awesome mod, really loving it... One small request, can you make it so that the magic maps behave the same as normal maps when placed in an item frame? Having a picture on the wall of all the stuff you've explored would be awesome!
BTW, I put a quick playthough on my youtube channel, check it out:
At the moment, I can't do much with the item frames. They're hard coded to display only vanilla maps and I can't modify the item frame code. What I could do is make a patch for Forge to allow more types of things in item frames, make sure Forge adds it, wait at least until another Minecraft version to make sure everybody is running a version of Forge that has the new code in it, and then add my maps to item frames. But that seems like a lot of work.
Well, Im guessing the following "bosses" are stronger, my point was that modmaker had asked for feedback on for example the Naga, and its difficulty, as well as easy "shortcuts/exploits" to defeating it.
With FtB, the Naga is a pushover, with just Bronze armor, which you dont even need to have iron to get
If the IndustrialCraft wiki is accurate, bronze armor makes you as resistant to damage as diamond armor. In which case, I'm not surprised that the naga doesn't deal much damage if you wear it.
To benimatic: can you make planks out of the twilight oak, mangrove, or canopy logs? I wish I didn't have to keep asking stuff, but due to technical difficulties, and me being a noob, it's taking forever to get this mod, so I can't just find out myself.
You can, but they just make regular vanilla planks of semi-appropriate colors. I may add unique planks someday, but the idea doesn't really inspire me.
Hey what kind of biomes does Twilight Forest use? I've seen youtube videos of the mod and I have always assumed that it uses custom biomes, but... people are having trouble running Twilight Forest with Millenaire, trouble that seems to be rooted in villages trying to be spawned in the Twilight Forest, that can only happen if Twilight Forest uses vanilla biomes... (or the biomes of ExtrabiomesXL because Millenaire became compatible with them a short while ago.)
No, all the biomes are unique and no vanilla biomes should appear in the dimension. You can change the biome ids in the config file, although it doesn't sound like you're actually having a biome conflict.
I want to use Custom Ore Generation in the Twilight Forest.
Custom Ore Generation basically lets you redo the ores placed by the game. You can place real veins, slender with motherlodes (to have "find the vein, and mine it as you go"), or giant clouds (approximately 10% of the blocks in a good sized area, frequency and size dependent on the ore; intended to require real mining support and make railcarts reasonable).
But the first step in the operation is to remove all existing ores, and then place the ores under customized control.
That fails for the hollow hills.
Are you able to:
1. Expose the hollow hills ore populator for other mods to call, and
2. Work with JRoush to get COG to support calling that routine during the substitute phase?
Thanks in advance, either way. (More thanks if you can, obviously :-).
I guess I'm a little confused as to what custom ore generation would do to the hollow hills. You want COG to remove all the ore from the hollow hill stalactites and distribute it... in the ground? I think that would be difficult.
Um yes, but all the entities this mod adds are registered as mod-specific with Forge, so they can't conflict with any other mods. So, I removed the configuration options.
You can turn on global entity registration (and the configuration options) in the config file. The option is labeled "CreatureCompatibility". I don't recommend that you do though. The option is only included for people with very old save files. I should probably just remove it at this point.

Works in single player, only throws error when done in multiplayer. server crashes.
I usually see this error where people have patched their server with the file for Rei's Minimap, but have patched it with the non-Forge-compatible file. Use the Forge compatible file instead.

The Rei's Minimap thread only lists a single version of the mod. I'm assuming there is only a forge version at this point and that would mean we must be using it?

If another exists, please point me in the right direction.
I don't know about multiplayer, but I'm in love with Rei's minimap, and I use it with Twilight Forest, but I found that the only way to work it is to install forge, install Twilight Forest in the mods section of forge, and then install Rei's minimap in your minecraft.jar file. It never worked if I put it in the mods section of forge; I had to install it the ugly route of copy/pasting it into my .jar and deleting the overwritten files.
Hope that does something for you!
I love this mod. The most fun I ever had in Minecraft was when my buddies and I fought a Hydra. The fight was just so freaking epic.
There is just so much to love in this mod. Fire swamps, Lich towers, the dark forests, etc. This mod has become something that I find to be absolutely essential to the adventuring aspect of Minecraft.
In other words, your work on this mod has made my life a little better. For that, I thank you.

Minecraft 1.4.6
Forge 6.5.0.486
Twilightforest 1.14.0
Works in single player, only throws error when done in multiplayer. server crashes.
You can mine in, but at the moment the material is several times harder than obsidian. But you don't really need to, there's nothing much in them at the moment. They're a work in progress.
I'm not sure. If you have a savegame with mod stuff in it, don't load that game without the mods installed? There may be something else obvious I'm not thinking of.
Nice work on the garbage collection post.
There are definitely saplings lately for almost all the major tree types.
Thanks for the report! I'll see if I can fix that.
If the IndustrialCraft wiki is accurate, bronze armor makes you as resistant to damage as diamond armor. In which case, I'm not surprised that the naga doesn't deal much damage if you wear it.
Maybe I should!
You can, but they just make regular vanilla planks of semi-appropriate colors. I may add unique planks someday, but the idea doesn't really inspire me.
No, all the biomes are unique and no vanilla biomes should appear in the dimension. You can change the biome ids in the config file, although it doesn't sound like you're actually having a biome conflict.
I'm still working on it. It's a special type of tree with unique properties.
It's definitely updated. If the mod's showing up on your mod list in the main menu, then the portal should work.
I guess I'm a little confused as to what custom ore generation would do to the hollow hills. You want COG to remove all the ore from the hollow hill stalactites and distribute it... in the ground? I think that would be difficult.
Private server mod packs are fine.
It will find any ore you point it at (and that has "Ore" in the name). Pointing it in the right place is the difficult part though.
We are using the 1.4.6 version from here: http://www.minecraft...t/topic/482147-
We use MultiMC and add it to the jar tab.
Hope that does something for you!
thank you sir
There is just so much to love in this mod. Fire swamps, Lich towers, the dark forests, etc. This mod has become something that I find to be absolutely essential to the adventuring aspect of Minecraft.
In other words, your work on this mod has made my life a little better. For that, I thank you.
