Have you ever considered adopting forge and using ASM to gain access to the rest of the base classes you would normal edit?
I havent had a look, but I can imagine the amount of base edits would be huge, but still, with some hard work I'm sure it would be possible.

Have you ever considered adopting forge and using ASM to gain access to the rest of the base classes you would normal edit?
I havent had a look, but I can imagine the amount of base edits would be huge, but still, with some hard work I'm sure it would be possible.
Rewriting is the last thing I want to do. It would take ages, unless there would be 10+ people doing it, and will not bring any major improvements (if ALL of current features remain there. It's very unlikely).
And it will not solve the current "incompatibility" problems, as I don't think there are other ways to implement SSP.
One thing may work: if the mods modify Forge classes, then it will kinda work. Since Forge mods tend not to modify base classes (do they?), I can make sure that all of the Forge hooks work in SSP. However, that will make the mod bound to just one specific Forge version.
Additionally, I heard that Forge modifies the base classes in runtime instead of shipping compiled classes now? If that's true, the method above will not work.
The mod sure needs rewriting, but it's impossible for me to do alone. Additionally, I will be away from the computer in 25th—30th.
So, I don't think I will rewrite it anytime soon. Not even saying about Forge compatibility, because I don't think that will ever happen. At least unless Mojang finally fixes the server.

1. No, the areas with trees were not as dense in real Infdev 3.27 (I looked at videos, pictures, and actually found a genuine Infdev 3.27 map, but I have NOT found the .jar (Darn )).
