WTF is this MinecraftForge I keep hearing about? I've read the thread with it, it doesn't sound that awesome. How do you use modloader mods if you're using MinecraftForge?
MinecraftForge is super awesome. It will make it possible for several huge and great mods to be compatible that were not compatible before. A lot of mods that use modloader will still be very useable with MinecraftForge.
Check the sig. It's a revolution.

If you think something's impossible.
You haven't tried hard enough.

A few mods I love are not "ever" (yes, quoted) going to Minecraft Forge. This includes GLSL Shaders.
I installed into vanilla minecraft and when I select a world or start a new world only the dirt background appears with nothing happening and after about 30 seconds blackscreen. Any explanation? No error code was given
So I guess the reason it didn't work was I was using linux. On windows minecraft works fine.
I REALLY want to put this in my guide, but when I use it my computer actually uses a bit more cpu. I am using a bat file to reduce the memory given to 256mb, maybe that affects it. Can a few people please post pics of their computer with vanilla, optifine, optitick, optifine+optitick, then all of those using a bat file to reduce to 256 so I can get a general idea of how this affects people.

When you use the bat files, does it reset your achievements?
MAN TAKE ALL MY DIAMONDS!!! your MOD is really cool..tho i did not have 100fps but i got optifine+optitick and millenaire hangs for 10 sec and after optitick..I get 60FPS + No HANGS AT ALL :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:
1. Copy and paste into notepad.
2.Replace username with your name and password with your password.
3.Save as Minecraft.bat, and put it into the .minecraft folder, which is found by going to start->run and typing "%appdata%" without the quotes. It may be in the roaming folder.
4.Create a shortcut to the .bat file, place the shortcut in the desktop, and now you have your own custom launcher.

You don't have to do it but Itd be nice to see.
Sadly this apparently doesn't work with Windows 7, it says it can't find the javaw. I guess it is time I look into it a bit closer

Well after a little looking about apparently there were two options
1)Adjusting my environmental settings which I rather not do at the moment and then rebooting.
The bat file is so freaking weird. It works differently for everyone.
Oh no not really it would work perfectly as it is if I didn't feel like digging into my system settings and then rebooting afterwards since I'm doing other things.
That is why I gave the way to do it for those who can't or don't know how to change it.

BTW, using Optitick with Millenaire will cause no NPC village to spawn automatically.

That wasn't meh who posted that. This mod actually helps! 50 FPS - 70 FPS. I'm playing on Fancy settings

No. All a bat file does is launch it with as much/little memory you specify. The regular launcher gives 1 Gb
Can you send me your launcher

2) Instead use "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx256M -Djava.library.path=bin/natives -cp bin/minecraft.jar;bin/jinput.jar;bin/lwjgl.jar;bin/lwjgl_util.jar net.minecraft.client.Minecraft Username Password

Exactly like this? I'm looking as to why the one I have in my guide acts so odd, having an alternative might at least help.
