I've installed this one like all the others, I used mcpatcher, put everything in the minecraft jar I used and it still don't work.
The game loads up normally, and when I get in-game it doesn't seem to work for me when I try to break a block.
MCP is only allowing me to add .zip files, and the Multi-Mine is a .jar. When I attempt to add and patch in the Multimine.zip, I get errors from MCP. I must be missing something. Help?
You don't have any written instructions, aside from the old ones written for previous outdated versions. In addition, your MultiMine.zip doesn't have any folder structure in it. It's merely Multimine.jar, so assuming it's going to wind up in /mcpatcher-mods is misleading.
I have other mods working correctly with MCP, and I have no mcpatcher-mods folder. Regardless, MCPatcher is looking for zip files. When I click the "+" symbol in MCP to add an external mod, and add your zip file, I get errors.
Ok, that was last night. This morning I clicked the + and added it. Patched. Went into game, and nothing. The expected behavior from your mod wasn't working. This is sad because I REALLY love the idea of this mod!!!

So, what am I doing wrong?
I do not know exactly how the "add mod" or "+" functionality of mcpatcher works. It might just add the files to your minecraft jar, which is NOT what you want it to do. However the guy who posted the video tutorial for Dynamic Lights used it, and it seemed to work.
You are very correct on the folder structure missing! I don't know when that happened. Probably while fixing bugs. Sorry for the inconvenience. By written instructions i mean for example those which you gaze upon when you open the archive.
Without further information i can't really tell what happened. Do you have other mods? Are you sure Multimine was applied? Post your mcpatcher log, including what happens when you click "Test Minecraft"

I'm not entirely sure what the hell was going on, but it's all working now. I added your Dynamic Lights (Love it, but damn do I need a better computer), and suddenly things are working properly. Thank you for such awesome mods!
Greetings! im here to tell you that this mod is a MASTER PIECE. it's simple yet helpfull in many ways.
even thought i wont downloadd it just yet (then i must replace every block in my house if i hit them) i will in the near future! :biggrin.gif: anyways, Great job and a to you :smile.gif:
mite become a good bukkit plugin dont you think? :smile.gif:
Read, You can only have up to 15 "Broken" blocks, the instant you try to break a 16 block the first one will recover.

any idea what I'm doing wrong?
I didn't. mcpatcher uses Signatures and Bytecode patching, so it keeps working until Mojang changes so much Source Code it needs to be re-matched.
Install tutorial with pictures in case you can't follow the written instructions.

Any multiplayer adaptation of this would require major changes to both server and client. It's something MOJANG SHOULD HAVE DONE A LONG TIME AGO
ah, that's true. they really forgot that one :x
it could work as a clientside mod thought, couldnt it? or is this the type of MAJOR changes you were talking about? :smile.gif: heheh
