I'm not going to update Dual Wielding, so stop asking
The mods below were originally made by Cryect, then ported as stand-alone versions by Peronix.
Since Peronix didn't show up on the forums since May 29, I've taken the initiative to update his mods for MC 1.6.6, and now to MC 1.7.3 as well.
I'm posting these in a separate thread so I can keep track of the eventual bug reports and help requests.
Obviously, I'll take down the thread and downloads if Peronix comes back and asks me to.
I'd also like to thank CobaltStarr for providing a port of the sensors blocks and proposing to post it here for the sake of having all the ports together :smile.gif:
For more informations of each mod, check the original thread : Peronix's Mods
How To Install:
First, make sure you have installed the latest ModLoader for the Minecraft version you're using.
In each downloaded archive, you'll find at least two of the following subfolders :
- Put in jar : Extract all the folders and files from this subfolder in your minecraft.jar
- Put in bin : Extract the file inside this subfolder in your ".minecraft/bin" folder
- Put in launcher directory : Extract the SpeakerBlock or the ImportWand folders in the same folder as the one where you have your minecraft launcher (Minecraft.exe).
Example : If your launcher is on the desktop, then put the SpeakerBlock or the ImportWand on the desktop as well.
These are the boomerangs from the AdventureCraft mod. they function like the ones in Zelda, and can be configured to hit buttons and switches, to collect items, and many other options that can be selected in their properties file.
The umbrella from AdventureCraft, when you have it in your hands, it'll make you glide and negate fall damage, as well as propel you if you're over a fan block.
If you right click while holding it, it'll blow away entities.
The equivalent of the power glove from AdventureCraft.
Right click in red mode pushes blocks, Right click in blue mode pulls them.
CTRL + Right click switches modes.
These spikes can be controlled with redstone, when powered, they are innocent looking, but when you remove their source of power, they'll instantly kill most creatures that go through them. They do not damage items though, which is why they're useful to make mob grinders.
I've rewritten the code of this mod so that spikes can now be placed on pistons and glass, as well as to improve the graphic update when changing the redstone state (it used to be buggy)
There are 3 kinds of magic boots:
- The Power Boots, which will make you run 1.5 times faster, and jump 3 block high.
- The Hover Boots, which let you glide and negate fall damage.
- The Heavy Boots, which will prevent you from being blown away by fans.
Sensors can detect entities in a 15 blocks range. Opaque blocks in that range will block the beam, but ice, glass and other non solid blocks won't.
Wooden sensors detect all entities, stone sensors detects only living entities, iron sensors only the player, and netherrak sensors will only react to mobs.
IMPORTANT NOTICE :
The 1.7.3 now uses the bin/SpeakerBlock folder to place the sound files instead of the launcher directory. That was changed so that Linux and MacOS can run it without problems.
This disables opening GUI's on blocks while you're sneaking, which allows you to place blocks directly onto chests and any other block that would normally open a GUI.
- Cryect for the original Fans, Hookshots, Boomerangs, Power Staffs, Spikes and Umbrella Mods.
- Peronix for the 1.5_01 ports, as well as the Magic Boots, Magic Wand, Sensors and Speaker Block Mods.
- CobaltStarr for updating the Sensor Blocks mod to 1.6.6.
- The MCP Team for providing us with such a great tool.
Thanks for the positive feedback people :smile.gif:
By the way, I'd like to point out that all suggestions and feedback are welcome, as well as ideas for new content (as long as it's not silly)
All mods I thought of making were already made by others, so I'm left with nothing to mod :tongue.gif:
Theres a "Block" (gm) class file in the Hookshot download that shouldn't be there i think. Atleast it doesn't seem to contain anything related to Hookshot.
If you fancy a new project, how about porting all these to ModloaderMP (as soon that is updated)

That's actually the Item class, it's used to determine which sprite should be used for the hookshot. It's actually a bit frustrating since the only change that is made to that file is removing a "final" identifier which was added by Notch in the last updates and which prevented the access to the getIconIndex function :|
Got a link to said mods?
I thought CCTV wasn't updated since 1.3-ish
EDIT : Nevermind, found the 2 mods. The problem comes from the dn.class of the Microcubes mod (which does nothing)
Simply fix it by installing the Umbrella/Fan Block after Microcubes, it'll just cause the microcubes to display the incorrect particles for wool when they're destroyed, which is not a major issue IMO.
Peronix posted a 1.5_01 version then vanished, but he said he would NOT update duel wielding.
Since you didn't update it, what's wrong with duel wielding?!? :sad.gif:
Dual Wielding changes about 6 main classes of the game, it's incompatible with almost every mod that does more than adding blocks or items. Which would mean that I'd have to make compatibility patches and/or deal with people complaining about it breaking their game.
Not to mention that it's a pain to update (due to the number of classes it affects)
Do you have the author's permission? If not, then I believe this is not allowed. I'd recommend quoting the post if you do. If not, :/
I don't know if you've looked around the forums, but there's dozens of mods that have been updated by other people due to the original author's inactivity... Plus peronix actually distributed the source code himself (even though only the link for the Dual Wielding mod is still on his actual thread)
And as I already stated in the OP : If he were to return and ask me to take the downloads down, I'd do it.

Um, you didn't say a THING in the OP about taking it down. Show me where.

I honestly never tried to tamper with the SMP part of MC modding, but I might give it a shot, thanks for the suggestion :smile.gif:

Define "not working properly"
Placement issue? Redstone problems?

Hmm yeah, the OP could use more content indeed... Oh well, I'll add that tomorrow.

Gah, seems like I didn't indeed, that was only posted with the 1.6.6 update...
Well, I'm adding it, happy now? :|
Also, do the all work together?
