It would be useful for a situation where you just simply don't want charcoal. Why waste it when you can convert it? That's the point I see. I use charcoal to begin with, but if I make so much and throw it out, I wasted it.

I live on a Planet Called Omicron Persei 8, where I am constantly battling sexual endeavors with the alien race that lives here.
THis is life saver at industrial craft to create diamond cause u cant do diamond out of charcoal only coal. (if this works with IC)
Great keep up the good work :smile.gif:
Shouldn't be any reason for it to NOT work with IC (Unless IC changed the coal/charcoal IDs, which seems odd). I don't have IC, but know lots of people I know do. also there's a mod that adds (among other things) fire arrows that only use coal, not charcoal.
For those of you above that asked, WHY? Now you know.
hey dude, i understand that this is your first mod but..
your mod is pointless
Charcoal does the exact same thig as coal.
its easy to get (for beginners)
This is great for other mods. I have a compressed coal block with one of my mods, it takes 8 coal to craft, and burns a full stack. This saves a TON of space. But it doesn't work with charcoal. Several mods I use have recipes that take coal, but not charcoal.
If you don't see a use for it, THEN SHUT THE HELL UP AND DON'T DOWNLOAD IT!
One question, would you consider changing the recipe? Maybe 1 charcoal and one sand/dirt/whatever. Or at the least 1 and 3 shapeless so that you can use the 2x2 grid? Also, it would be nice if this was a Modloader mod. In fact, that's the only way I would use it.

I can (and most likely will this evening) change the recipe to something the 2X2 grid can use (I just didn't think of it at the time). As for modloader, that's next on my list to learn, so yeah I can to that (I hope).
Oh, and Thank you for your OTHER comment :smile.gif:
savagehart, ignore the other fools they just think the world is only as big as what little they know.
I like the mod idea.
However, one suggestion. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to add sand, dirt or what not to change charcoal into coal. Maybe just a simple 1x2 of two charcoal yielding two coal. Or even a 1x2 of 1 charcoal and one 1 wood to represent the heating to make it. If we had a sawdust block you could use that to make briquettes or "hardened charcoal"..
But no matter I like it and will try it once you make the recipe a little smaller, I am ALWAYS out of coal as I run IndustrialCraft.
This mod would help me out a lot in industrial craft 2 because there is a difference between Charcoal and Coal, so I was wondering If you could update it to 1.8.1
I agree that it is renewable but, quite a few recipes use only coal. If the recipe says coal then 100,000 charcoal is useless. No amount of charcoal will complete the recipe.
Edit: sorry about the necro guys didn't look at the date till after post. Really frustrated with this stuff right now.
And yes, this IS my 1st mod (published), thanks for noticing.
What this mod does:
It converts charcoal to coal.
Why?
Because sometimes, some people need charcoal to be coal. Not everyone, not all the time. But when you
need it to happen, you NEED it to happen.
How does the mod work?
Four different ways:
I hope you like the mod.

Aha! Everyone, thank this man for telling of the true point of this mod!
Really, full inventories get annoying.
Ya.
