You know, looking at the icon in your achievement banner, it seems that the biggest problem your icons had was that you didn't dither the redstone. You should try putting some randomized darkening on it and see how much that changes things - it's how my textures are all done :smile.gif:
Speaking of textures, what do people think of the part icons I made up? :smile.gif:
Yeah! i'll try that!, i just made this banner to see how it looks in the original size and in black background. (it's on my signature just to see how you react xD)
BTW your icons are cool!... i'm tempted to use them as base for the icons, so theres the cuestion. can i use your icons as base?
Oh, and I feel a new mod coming on... but I'm tempted to just roll it into Integrated Redstone, because it's also a redstone-related mod. The difference is this - if I *do* roll it in, I'll be able to integrate them tighter, and possibly even add a block or two to Integrated Redstone itself using the new functionality. I suppose there's not really any great downside here - I'll probably end up going from one block ID to... maybe 3? 4 if I need a second ID for the newer circuit blocks themselves (since I currently have 14 of the 15 available types in one ID used now).
Considering that V1.3 used a dozen or so IDs, that doesn't seem like much of a downside.
Sure! why not roll it into the main mod?, if it's redstone related it should be good for it...
BUT if it's not necesary for the new feature to have the integrated components, maybe it would be good to place it on a new mod (just in case u can make a stable interopeation between mods)
Oh! and i just tried out the 1.7 on a friend's computer (he is not interested on having mods so it's fine) and it's a... pretty much like a **** xD but the new features are very interesting, the shears are a cool addition for ornamental purposes and the pistons seems to be cool (i didn't tried 'em cause i'm too lazy to find redstone) in addition to a very first use for the slime balls... even with L.S.O.D. not fixed, the game runs smoothly than before

Sure, go for it. So long as you're just making marketing materials for Integrated Redstone, I don't have a problem with you using the assets to do so.

Well the thing is... I have a couple ideas for blocks that will require BOTH mods. Which means I've got two options: do it all in Integrated Redstone, or split it into THREE mods. The first two work without the other, but the third needs both of the others to be installed to work.
Since it's also a redstone mod, I'm just not sure which makes the most sense.

Well I'm really happy about how cheap pistons are, that will be a lot of fun to mess with. And the "repeater fix" is actually a bit of a big deal to me - but only because it appears that Notch actually added functionality that I wanted for my mod.
Since integrated redstone goes with Buildcraft a lot, it would be interesting to have the three separate mods. However, if you can fit it all to use 3 Block IDs in one single mod, and you would need 4+ IDs with three separate mods, I'd go with the single, unified version. Block IDs are quite a premium for people like me, who lives out of mods XDDD
Well, I don't think it would necessarily use a different number of block IDs (although it would add an item ID or two).
Hey! theres people releasing their mods for 1.7_01! is there the new mcp version yet?
Nope. Looks like those are the mods that don't use ModLoader or MCP. The easiest way to find out about this - check Risugami's post for ModLoader. When that hits 1.7, it's a good shot that I'll be able to follow closely behind.
HOW U DARE TO SAY THAT! IS BLASPHEMY!... but seriously notch have a lot o' work to do
With the money they made already ...They can have manage to have a lot better game ...and more money ...
And now if you play vanilla only without mod or fix ...You will lag .
You have to download a fix from someone that do it for free ...
Seriously it weird how minecraft work ...
Me if i owned minecraft i will organize Mod contest ...I will have hire some modder already ...Actually some part time modder work faster than them ...
Make the platform ...Let modder do the game .
And i've read that this game will not be Super big if it stay in Java ...they have to improve the code ...
So they should stop doing stuff like adventure stuff, piston, wolfes, breaking boat elevator, adding more lag, fixing stuff that nobody noticed ...And make the platform of the game perfect without any kind of lag ...and make an api or something that modders can use to make update and modding easier .
Like i said The IDEA is good ...What they do with it ...Is discutable .
And Like Elo Said ...No more cobblestone generator from piston ...Well Vanilla piston .
Btw idea of block .
Is this possible to have a block that contain a counter and each time it have have a redstone current it trigger a different block according to the counter .
You will have different size of counter ...4 8 20 40 .
ex : When you place a tiny counter you will have 1 block inside it with 4 output each output is trigger one at a time by the counter .Then you place the "Output" block where you want
For 40 output it will be 10 block ...And you need to place it in a certain range .
will you listen to my suggestions, I have a bunch, but they'll take a while to explain and I don't want to waste my time. I will start with the simple stuff and then suggest the impossible to code things but that I think would be a great addition.

I don't know, personally I'm glad they added pistons to the vanilla. It's great to have a base from which mods can be added. The second mod that I'd look at, if I were Notch, would be something like the Allocator - some sort of filter block.

It shouldn't be too hard to do this already. In fact, you could use the existing counter circuits. Set it up so that they all increment together. Set the maximum values in sequence - 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Set the increments to 1, and the decrements to the same as the maximum. Now wire the count complete output from the highest number back to the decrement input of all of the counters in the group.
It should be possible to do it with toggle latches and AND gates also. Just set it up so that each AND gate is triggered by a shared clocking line, and flips both the previous and next latches in the series.
I have a plan for an even more efficient way of doing the same, but it actually requires my secret third mod. It's still in the planning stage, I'll have more to say about it when I have something to show :smile.gif:

Of course I'll listen to suggestions. Check how frequently I comment on this thread, I'm very chatty :smile.gif: I can't guarantee that I'll like them or that I'll use them, but I'll listen.
Well, we all can discuss notch's efficiency, he surely can take a lot of the costumer's ideas (part of good marketing) but we must admit that if it weren't for notch, we weren't playing such a good game as minecraft.
and, making a modder contest would be a god idea...
... so much things to tell to notch....
Returning to the mod... i really find hard to use the counter gate... i'll practice a little with it.
i'll give a shot (again) for the icons, maybe with Elo's icons base i can do better than the ones i've made first

I'm not going to say anything bad about Notch. Still, Minecraft isn't really original - anyone else remember Infiniminer? I was playing Zach's games before it ever came out (for the record, Kohctpyktop is still my favorite), and I was actually skeptical of the formula, but I ended up hopelessly hooked on Infiniminer. I remember when the first alphas of Minecraft came out. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if I'd actually played Infiniminer with Notch, before he got rich and famous.
The funny thing is that I'd written a complete Infiniminer client from scratch at the time (literally the week of the very first Minecraft version), and I was thinking of making a similar game, but I got discouraged because I suck at pixel art. Oh the irony. Sure, I know, "a likely story".
Anyway, as for the counter gate... Best thing to do is play with it. It's really not that complicated :smile.gif:
ModLoader might be, but to my knowledge, MCP isn't.
And I'm kinda buried in the middle of the next version anyway. I just wrote a brand new rendering system, which will form an important part of both V1.5 and my secret upcoming mod.
Also, having studied it extensively, I don't think I like the redstone wire propagation algorithm.

hey! this sounds like a cpu usage boost! great! woohoo!... the last buggy versions are makin' me nuts with the L.S.O.D.... since my laptop haven't enough power, the l.s.o.d. makes extreme lags!
as i heard in one server "Videogames don't make children violent, Lag does"

so i made a suggestion a while ago about a new mod that adds bronze/tin/copper blocks for storage and i was thinking about what you said about not being sure if you could mod a mod so i asked in the offical IC thread and while waiting for a reply i remember something from a long time back when IC wasn't updated for 1.5_01 yet and it was a cable mod that made the cables of industrial craft rounder and look more real life like but i cant find the thread dont know how to find it i googled i searched the released mod section for it and everything i cant find the thread tho.

Well... Not really. The new renderer is only for my blocks. The rest of minecraft still uses the one in RenderBlocks. I did it for the flexibility - minecraft's renderer is a mess.

As I mentioned then, I'm not really doing any IC mods at the moment. I've seen one screenshot with the mod you speak of in it, but I've never seen the mod itself. It sounds cool though.
