Haha crap, must've missed that. I forgot to take out the debugging text from when Jeb changed the door metadata. I'll remove that and have the next version up in just a little bit. I'm also eventually going to try to make the stacked doors look better, but that may require making new textures, and I'm a terrible artist.

There's a problem with updating riders correctly where they either get stuck glitching at the top of the elevator or they fall through the elevator somewhere along the way. And that's not to mention all of the glitchiness the player experiences before one of those two things happens.
That's not a small derp, that's a big DERP! lol
No pressure, I'll wait for it to be fixed...
But then again it would be funny to watch some of the players on my private server to fall down the elevator shaft!! Especially with how high strung some of them are, I can just hear the screams of surprise and shock on vent! LOL
Naw, but really I've been waiting on this mod since everything had to be updated to 1.2.5 (that was probably a painful enough!) Then there is converting it over to Forge from modloadermp. Then the bug squashing before releasing it to the public. But for some of us we have to wait for it to be ported over to bukkit before we can use it.
So yeah, I'll sit back and wait until it's fully baked and wait for it to be released.
Again, see my note about needing ModLoaderMP. If you can't / don't want to get ModLoaderMP, the only option left is to wait for the bug with the current version of dynamic elevators server to get sorted out.
Hello you´re really doing good work. But I´ve a question/suggestion for rename floors. Could you make the gui showing the floornames beside the floornumbers? It would be very helpfull to have an overview of the floornames without writing signs for each floor.
My current idea is to have tool tips pop up when the mouse is hovered over a particular elevator button (similar to the way item names pop up in the inventory). Three characters is pushing it for button size when there are more than a couple of floors, so I don't want to have elevator names directly on the buttons.

On the server version of dynamic elevators, can anyone access the elevator options menu or can only the original builder of the elevator access the options menu?
If anyone can access it, you should add in some type of lock ( for example, you have to enter a 4 digit pin before you can access the options menu). I am planning on using dynamic elevators on my server when you release it for 1.2.5 but i'm worried that if anyone can access the options menu, people might mess around with the elevator settings of other peoples elevators.
My current idea is to have tool tips pop up when the mouse is hovered over a particular elevator button (similar to the way item names pop up in the inventory). Three characters is pushing it for button size when there are more than a couple of floors, so I don't want to have elevator names directly on the buttons.
I've given up waiting for bukkit ports and just working on a Vanilla server for me and a few friends.
Well I'm actually running a Tekkit server. (Might as well be a Bukkit server) I have to get my ports from over at MCportcentral being they do all of the ports. And my plugins I get over at Bukkit.org... So it might as well be a Bukkit/Tekkit server...lol
And the thing is that dynamic elevators mod is the only elevator mod or plugin that I've found that really works and does what it's supposed to. I have frame elevators right now that one of the players made for our server but they take up space and don't work very well when your deep in a mine shaft...

Haha very good point. I had thought about that and, while I'm not sure how hard it would be to implement, you're right. That would be a good feature to have.

the singleplayer forge version for the elevator mod is incompatible with tropicraft, i really like the buttons to call the elevator and you can chose which floor to go to and you can make it provide power so it open doors when it comes to a stop, its gotten really good since last time i used it back in like 1.0.0 i think it was, but yeah would be nice if you could make it compatible with tropicraft
EDIT: i think its the block id maybe, dunno, i dont know how to tell what the problem is from those error reports things you get when minecraft crashes

The error reports are pretty easy to read most of the time. Block Id conflicts are especially easy. Near the top of the report there will be something along the lines of:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot ID [ID #] is already occupied by [something]
If its just a block Id conflict I'm not going to change the mod at all - that's what the config file (.../.minecraft/config/mod_Elevator.cfg) is for. If you think it's something more serious, post the error report and I'll check it out.

From the error log you can see that the conflicting block Id is # 213, and in the config file the ElevatorCaller block is still set to use id 213. As the front page says, Dynamic Elevators uses a total of 3 block IDs, all of which have to not conflict with other mods. Try changing these around until you get something that works.

That depends on which version you're using. Renaming elevators hadn't yet been implemented in version 1.5.1. In 1.6, it's pretty simple. Just click the button that says Rename Elevator, type something in, and click ok.

change the "ElevatorCaller_blockID=213" to "ElevatorCaller_blockID=140", try it.
Yea Ryoken is right, you didn't change the right ID in the config file. From the error log you can see that the conflicting block Id is # 213, and in the config file the ElevatorCaller block is still set to use id 213. As the front page says, Dynamic Elevators uses a total of 3 block IDs, all of which have to not conflict with other mods. Try changing these around until you get something that works.
Sorry about the config file organization - I'm planning on splitting all of that up into several different files, but until then it's kind of in a random order.

That depends on which version you're using. Renaming elevators hadn't yet been implemented in version 1.5.1. In 1.6, it's pretty simple. Just click the button that says Rename Elevator, type something in, and click ok.
