Any plans to implement Minecolony? It is my favorite standalone mod, and it seems that the old mod author left or is very slow to update (last update was for 1.2.5) I would certainly prefer it over the minions mod

I remember the 1.2.5 (Beta) days well, heh.
'MineColony' gave the pack grief because mobs did not despawn correctly durring the night/day transition.
I even used to include a nice demo map with the download that featured the mod back in those days.
I tried it off and on since Beta, but always ran into long-term sability issues.
However, 'Millenare' is included instead, and much more in-depth.
Besides, 'MineColony' is now very out-of-date as you've said.
FYI: I also used to include 'Tale of Kingdoms' which was similar (mobs that can defend and build a town).
Alas, it seems to have gone out-of-date as well.
I just downloaded this modpack and would like to say great work.
I do however have a question which probably sounds stupid, but I would like to check that it is ok to delete these files that are generated after each launch:
ForgeModLoader-server-0.log
ForgeModLoader-server-0.log1
ForgeModLoader-server-0.log.1.lck
ForgeModLoader-server-0.log.2
ForgeModLoader-server-0.log.2.lck
.... ect
Thanks
Thanks for the kind words.
I get terriffic milage on the few "Great Job" posts people take the time to write.
All those .log files are ok to delete, unless you run into trouble.
In which case I'ld like to try and help people out by reading a copy of thier output-client.log file.
.log files are regenerated every time the game runs and are totaly OK to delete to get clutter off your system.
News:
There will be one more update for AMCO 1.5.2.
Not enough mods have been updated to 1.6 for me to do a proper update yet.
And, with rumors of 1.7 soon on the way we might skip updateing to 1.6/1.6.1 altogether.
I've selected about 22 mods to update for 1.5.2 (BuildCraft, Neather Ores, etc.).
And, a few new ones people have suggested (Logistic Pipes, Chococraft, etc.) will be added.
I'll be spending the next day or two installing and verifying all the new udates will work smoothly.
You are welcome. Too bad it did not work out for you.
Prehaps you will try AMCO out again for the 1.6/1.7 update.

Good luck!
Ya, I forgot about the whole "must have permissions" thing to include a mod in your own modpack. I'm just used to building my own modpack and not worrying about it.
Good idea to include logistic pipes It gives you really slick control over sorting stuff and helps to let you use ender pouch remotely to request any item from a collection of chests. Pretty cool stuff.
Fantastic pack. Worked great once I got the pieces in their proper place. Just two thoughts for your instructions that the videos hit on that your text instructions do not:
Using WinRar or an equivalent to open the jar file to drop the "To Jar" folder's files into the jar. I actually would not have thought about this for a while, and would have probably tried more convoluted ways of unpacking the jar and dropping in the files and then repacking it.
The alternative for those not quite so fancy would be to extract the To Jar contents to a folder, then use any archiver to "add/replace" those files to the jar.
Also, your instructions mention dropping the files into the .minecraft folder in your %appdata% directory for the "To Root" folder, but that's only for the client. If you did mention to drop that folder's files into the root of the server, I very easily overlooked it, as it took me starting up the server and getting the id # mismatch errors from the client to realize I'd done it wrong.
I love that you have everything working side-by-side like this, but I also noticed one problem and have one last suggestion (and I apologize if this is in the previous 260+ pages of the forum): The KenshiroMod's charged attack breaks blocks protected by Ars Magica's Tower Protectors for the Mage Towers. This results in an immediate crash on the client, while the block remains broken on the server.
I'll be dropping this comment onto Ars Magica's and KenshiroMod's forums as well to see if maybe they can sort it out so the mods play nicely together!
Finally, you may want to set the configuration file for Millienaire to use something other than 'M' for it's main menu, as it's overriden by the un-configurable menu for Minions. I set mine to 'L', but I'm going to have to instruct my family members to do the same, as it needs to happen on the client side, not the server for it to work. (And my family members are less than computer savvy!)
Again, thanks. I've run my server vanilla for years because HMod and Bukkit were just too time consuming to get the mods working with each other. This is some overwhelming content, but it'll be fun to fiddle with!
The following appear twice in the mods list: 'Goblins!' 'Portal Gun' 'DungeonMobs' 'Minions' (The first one is 'Minecraft minions' while the other is just 'minions') 'Inventory Tweeks'
I posted this once before but no one answered it. I am having a really weird problem with skeleton spawns. They are spawning in HUGE numbers all over the place nearly every time I get on. I'll show you a few pictures.
This one is right outside my farming base, the server has completely red lined on it's status
I can't find anywhere to turn down how many mobs can spawn. Do you know what mod is doing this so I can turn it off? So far I have noticed around each of these 'groups' there is always a named boss type mob.
Yes.
I've also had trouble with huge numbers of skeliton spawns near my base.
Pretty sure they happen beause I have some EnderChests there which keep chunks loaded.
(Quarries also keep chunks loaded by the way).
So, mobs spawn even when I am off line, but don't despawn correctly.
Mobs are supposed to despawn instantly if there is no player within ~128 blocks, but skelitons seem to be forgetting this fact.
I had been getting around this by:
Never log out in the loaded chunks, otherwize I would get huge lag when logging in due to all the mobs. I usually log out in the server's portal room instead of my base.
Use a portal to quickly travel to my base.
Lag still hapens, but I just pop back through the portal. Now all the skelitons realize they are >128 blocks away from a player and instantly despawn like they should.
Portal back into the base one last time.
Doubble portal manouver is annoying, but all the free arrows, bones, and other mob drops sorta made it worth it.
Ultimately the pain-in-the-butt factor outweighed the free-loot factor so we disabled 'Special Mobs' on the server I play on.
Using the portal trick, or simply disabeling 'Special Mobs' should also work for you.
News:
I've also been busy reskinning/renaming the various types of "Copper" and "Tin" in the game so it will look like we have more ores.
So for example, we'll now see "Manganese", "Zink", "Birsmuth", and "Antimony" ores, ingots, blocks, and a few other items.
They look different than "Copper" and "Tin", and have different names, but are still interchangeable in all the crafting recipies.
I felt it nessasary to make new 16x16 textures for vanilla as well as 32x32 Spax ones.
It's taking longer than estimated but I think having all the ores and other underground textures fiting together smoothly will be worth it.
Other changes include:
Turned the spawn rate of ocean 'Ruins' like the floating castle and pirate ship way down.
Adjusting some of the other custome 'Ruins' structures, like "Tree of Life" because its traps are being set off if it appears in water.
'Battle Tower' spawn rate turned down since Rev2. Should be at least 1000 blocks apart now.
Still investigating spurious item ID conflicts with 'Millenare'.
It would be realy nice to get 'HD texture Fix' back into the pack, but integrating it with 'Forge' and AMCO's 'Colorizer' is a huge pain.
I miss 'Better Skys' and its shooting stars, and 'Connected Textures' effect on stone and wood, and 'Better Glass'.
Hopefully the code will be kind this time...
Damn, I was hoping for ore consolidation not diversification. On the plus side it reminds me of Dwarf Fortress now, and making the ores differently named is far better than having them all be the same name. Will you make the different source ores that smelt into a bar all be smelted into the same item? So many ores, but only one kind of copper bar?
Best mod pack ever, only thing I am missing from my old mod pack (Kovacic's) is SmartMoving (very fun mod).
Only gripe is that there seems to be duplicate types of ores of the same name (different graphic) that also smelt into different metals of the same name (different graphic) for use in different mods. Would be cool if it was consolidated for lack of a better word, to make the mods fit together better and their bits and pieces work interchangebly with each other.
Anyways, thank you again and keep up the awesome work. You make minecraft playable!
'Kenshero Mod' is not used very often, and is causing problems, so I am removing it from next update.
Ore diversification needs to be given a chance.
I agree that having multiple different types of "Copper" and "Tin" that have the same names and only slightly different textures is annoying and confusing.
The most common suggeston for dealing with this is to make them all look exactly the same, or eliminate the duplicates.
However, I think the problem is better solved the opposite way:
Give each type of metal/ore/ingot it's own unique name and look.
So, that's what I've done for the next update.
Have a preview look of the nifty new HD textures for ores, ingots, and metal blocks:
Dispite the new looks and names, all the ores still have the same functions, and are still interchangible.
So "Copper", "Manganiese", "Magniseium", and "Birsmuth" all still make everything the various types of "Copper" used to.
Don't worry, 'Not Enough Items' will still show all the recipies correctly (including new names and looks).
And, you can still consolodate by making the various ingots into nuggets, then converting back to "Copper" ingots (or is it "Magniseium?)
I've also been able to adjust the greyness of blocks, like leaves and water.
So, now colors have even more "Kerplowie!", as I intended.
And the custom water colorizer and 'Better Skys' are working again now too:
Just a few more finishing touches and testing to go.
Revison 4 for AMCO 1.5.2 should be posted in a few hours.
Arrrg
Here's what's new:
Updated about 2 dozen mods.
'ChocoCraft' adds new bird mounts. Fly, swim, run fast depending on color of the bird. Tame them with the new greens.
'Logistic Pipes' adds all kinds of nifty new pipes. Now your machienes can be smaller and smarter.
'HD texture fix' is back in the works, which means:
'Better Skys' provides great sunsets, distant clouds, stars including North Star, galexies, nebula, and meteors.
'Connected Textures' makes lots of things look more realistic/less repetitive.
'Better Glass' removes those annoying borders between adjcent pieces of glass. Very nice.
Leaf and water colors are less grey and more colorful. There are some new Colorizer pallets too. Inspired by CubeWorld.
All the ores got thier unique names and textures, which makes mining and caving more interesting.
Now we have a good chunk of the Periodic Table to play with instead of 4 types of Copper and Tin and 2 tyes of Lead and Silver.
'Ruins' and 'Battle Tower' spawn rates were tweaked a bit.
'Kenshiro' and 'Special Mobs' were identified as a source of trouble for some users so they were removed.
A "ReadMe.txt" file is now included in the download to help with install.
And lots of other stuff too...
Just checking in to make sure everyone is able to download and install.
Looks like things are going well.
'Better Skys' is part of 'MCpatcher' Sergei.
Thanks for the kind words DarkXeno.
They are the fule that keeps ACMO's engine running strong.
Glad you are enjoying it.
Most textures are from 'Spax' or 'Inspiration' texture packs.
However, I also do quite a few myself:
Coral, Flowers, Gems, Glass, Obsidian, Exrta Tools and Armor (be sure to check out the chainmail/fire armor), etc.
I also create most of the templates for the 'Ruins' structures, like the floating castle, pirate ship, and pyramid and wells.
And I wrote the custom colorizers for stone, sand, snow, water, leaves, endstone, and grass.
Pluss a bunch of other stuff (be sure and try the pictures, they fit together to make big gears and stuff. Right-click to change them).
And there are a lot of pictuers included that you can put over doors to make really nice entrances:
As far a I know AMCO is the oldest mod pack, and still the only one out there with all the extra custom touches.
How would you install AMCO using MultiMC? I just found that utility and it seems to work great, I've got three heavily modded instances of MC using different versions - I just can't seem to figure out how to get most modpacks or mods with installers to work with it.

Install it manually.
By the way,
I tend to get freezing sometimes, blocks wont drop or reappear after breaking, blocks/items won't place, and can't damage or move mobs. Sometimes its for a little while like 5 minutes, rarely i have to restart mc. Some reason it happens frequently.

Im trying to download this on another comp for my cousin, and the download link sends me to a 1.2.5 link... When i download, various files 'no longer exist' when i try to move them, some files ALREADY EXIST in minecraft, and it says that codechickencore is not for 1.5.2 when i start...
