Djoslin, last Version I used was for 1.4.7, I got a bug back then that the water floats in my dam, Instead of the water falling, It creates water
straight. hope you fixed that. If yes then Imma DL this RA
I believe this is fixed, I'm not sure. Try out the ModLoader version and let me know.
Well this mod took me like 10 tries to get running with forge, and one other mod, but I finally figured out how to do it. All off a clean install of mincraft.
1. Install forge to your minecraft.jar
2. Delete the files that start with Mojang in the meta_inf
3. Run Minecraft allowing forge to download its libraries
4. Install FiniteLiquid to your minecraft.jar
5. Finally delete the meta_inf entirely and you should be good!
Hmm, interesting. Did you try the instructions on my website first?
I haven't had many reports of issues yet
Have people been getting the Forge version to work?
I plan on improving it today
Working successfully with Forge 7.7.1.624/FML v5.1.13.624
NotEnoughItems is the only other mod loaded.
I don't know how differently Java handles threading from C++, but are you directly running the liquid calculations on separate threads or is the JVM doing that automatically?
Hmm, interesting. Did you try the instructions on my website first?

Yes, I had tried those first, but when following those I would always black screen. I had checked the logs and for some reason it would make FML crash. Using the latest version of Forge by the way.
Awesome to finally see you have a forge version been waiting for some time now. Also I brokes it... was messing around in creative testing it out and it stopped working completely, world changes, restarting the game didn't work it simply stopped working. Lava and water would simply float in the air or stay as a block when placed basically everything stopped being fluidy.
Also wanted to put in a vote for having it replace default water and lava and if possible taking over their item ids otherwise I see a huge issue with any mod that has liquids as part of crafting ect.
And also, I found another bug in modloader version.
I tried making a new lake, so I took water from a lake then suddenly, the water forms like a chessboard,
it is in checkered pattern of water height, normal then abnormal. then continues checkered pattern. I tried putting a block beneath the "Abnormal" but still nothing (sorry no screenshots)

I don't know how differently Java handles threading from C++, but are you directly running the liquid calculations on separate threads or is the JVM doing that automatically?
This config causes water pumped out of a mid-air pump to move horizontally instead of falling vertically.
Also unsure if this is because of Forge or FiniteLiquid, but world gen seems to have glitched and put sandstone staircases as part of world terrain.
Good catch with the pump, I'll see if I can fix that. I'm not sure if I can.
The world generating sandstone stairs is really weird, never heard or seen that one before.
please, make vanilla water transform into finite one,I'd love having finite liquid on my old maps,if it's possible
also, thanks to have made a forge version,I was waiting for that for a long time
I've tried in the past. If I can figure out how to do it within forge to support other mods and such I will try. It's hard.
Are you planning to bring the pressure equalization back? (or am i hallucinating in thinking that existed before?)
how about boiling water / evaporating water leading to rain I seem to remember some mod doing something like that
i'm using latest forge with your experimental forge version, and I have no crashing, so I think the user above may have done something incorrectly
I hope you figure out forge, I would love to have this mod working in smp
Water pressure is actually in there still, it is just minecraft keeps changing stuff and it is no longer being triggered consistently. I have no idea why. I've been trying to fix it but no luck so far, all of my changes seem to do nothing to it.
Boiling / evaporating water I plan on bringing back. I just haven't been working on FiniteLiquid much since I've been trying to port the other mods.

Yeah I know, its from trying to convert from ModLoader to Forge. Forge is much more strict. I've been trying to change the code to more Forge style but it crashes when I do that. Still have to figure out the details.
Just found a bug.
If you go to the game menu when it is raining and after a minute or two close the menu and return to the game, a torrent of water rains down on you and floods the area.
Good catch. I've fixed this bug in the past, I think I know why it happens. Let me see if I can detect pausing again.
Tried mining out clay that was underwater and got this crash...

I can no longer load that world.
Hmm, seems like I've had a few reports like this. I'll have to do some digging underwater. Were you in the 'ocean' part or a lake?
You could try using a ChunkEvent.Load listener to convert infinite liquid blocks to finite ones. It might be pretty rough on the user's computer (depending on how much logic you need to do), but if you made it an option that the user can switch on and off, they could just run around and convert any chunks they need converted, then switch it back off again.
Good catch with the pump, I'll see if I can fix that. I'm not sure if I can.

Does this work for 1.4.7 forge with SMP (Btw i always loved this mod, sadly i couldn't download it previously 1 year ago thanks to my stupidness with computers back that day
Did you put the pump on the end of the pipe that you want the water to pour out of? I always find myself trying to put the pump on the end that's in the water, but it's supposed to go on the other end.

NotEnoughItems is the only other mod loaded.
I don't know how differently Java handles threading from C++, but are you directly running the liquid calculations on separate threads or is the JVM doing that automatically?
[BUG]
This config causes water pumped out of a mid-air pump to move horizontally instead of falling vertically.
Also unsure if this is because of Forge or FiniteLiquid, but world gen seems to have glitched and put sandstone staircases as part of world terrain.
Yes, I had tried those first, but when following those I would always black screen. I had checked the logs and for some reason it would make FML crash. Using the latest version of Forge by the way.
how about boiling water / evaporating water leading to rain I seem to remember some mod doing something like that
i'm using latest forge with your experimental forge version, and I have no crashing, so I think the user above may have done something incorrectly
I hope you figure out forge, I would love to have this mod working in smp
Also wanted to put in a vote for having it replace default water and lava and if possible taking over their item ids otherwise I see a huge issue with any mod that has liquids as part of crafting ect.

this is what I said Djoslin.
I can no longer load that world.
Good catch with the pump, I'll see if I can fix that. I'm not sure if I can.
The world generating sandstone stairs is really weird, never heard or seen that one before.
I've tried in the past. If I can figure out how to do it within forge to support other mods and such I will try. It's hard.
I would also love to have this in SMP.
Hmm, very strange. I'll try to trigger this crash myself. Next time try to grab a crash log if possible.
Did the water stay checkered or did it eventually level out on its own?
Yeah I know, its from trying to convert from ModLoader to Forge. Forge is much more strict. I've been trying to change the code to more Forge style but it crashes when I do that. Still have to figure out the details.
Good catch. I've fixed this bug in the past, I think I know why it happens. Let me see if I can detect pausing again.
Hmm, seems like I've had a few reports like this. I'll have to do some digging underwater. Were you in the 'ocean' part or a lake?
Dynamic Earth! Mud, adobe, permafrost, peat, faster crops, and more!
I was in the ocean.
Any chance in the future of making it compatible with the Mo'Creatures mod since it doesn't seem to work with your mod.
Also, I really love the superb craftsmanship that was put into the making of this mod and want to say thanks for making/up-keeping this
mod.
From, A Hatter For Hire
Dynamic Earth! Mud, adobe, permafrost, peat, faster crops, and more!
So many P letters.
also, methane should VERY QUiCKLY cause suffocation.
There should also be an option in the configs to make methane completely invisible.
1. does it work with forge modloader?
2. would this make buildcraft pipes and pumps not work??
i used to use this mod a long time ago so im not sure if the way i mod now is compatable :\
