...because it's the simplest mechanism in the mod? You literally put axles going to the top or bottom of the millstone, then connect them to a windmill or waterwheel. There's a lot of allowance for self-discovery in BTW, so it's a good idea to try things first, and if you can honestly say that you've tried, failed, and actully spent a solid five minutes thinking the problem through instead of just giving up, then search 'better than wolves lets play' on youtube, and watch any of them till a millstone it set up.
Worth mentioning is that there'd be a lot less problems in the world if people actually timed themselves to sit and think about things for five minutes before giving up.

Uh yeah... Everything was working fine for me, until I created a windmill, and tried placing it in the world. It says on the first post that it would show a warning message if it couldn't be placed, it doesn't even show that for me...
It probably has something to do with the fact that Optifine ruins this mod, and I shouldn't have it installed. >_>

Is anybody else having issues with windows 8? Ive tried installing Buildcraft, BTW. Modloader installs fine, but any mod afterwards causes an error. I would post it but it force closes on on me

I can't imagine that it's a problem with Windows. More likely you just got a screwed-up Modloader. Try re-downloading it, and then install some really simple mod, one that has no other requirements.

Just got my automatic soul-filler working. That's a nightmare to automate. Even the kiln was easier.
EDIT: No, I didn't. @#$%. This is ridiculous. It still doesn't fill every urn.
Automatic soul urn maker thats a beast, I just figured that out today. I spent five hours and half a pack of cigarettes just trying to get it to work. Sadly I did it in creative, now I have to craft all the stuff to make it in my other one. Next I have to figure out the auto kiln.

Hehe...that's awesome man. Providing new means to automate is really only part of what I try to include in this mod, with another large part being providing new automation challenges for the player (which is one of the things I think really separates BTW from other "tech mods").
Glad to hear so many people are deciding to tackle the toughest aspect of that

yep i soon am going to start that process of that. the thread on the forums is pushing me to start it

I'm working in Creative too, but I have enough resources in my Survival world that making it again isn't a problem. I dunno. I got the kiln working, although it's slow, but the filler... Dang. It's nasty. I have the rest of the soul urn-creating process done; It takes up four (large) buildings altogether.

Really? The filler itself is actually the easiest part of the process, especially if you know that a filled urn "pops" into item form.
DEAL WITH IT!
is one of Battosay's older videos, it should do the job.

What part are you having a problem with?
