For the record, i never directly told him to tell you about it.

Playing since Beta 1.3_01. Yeah. I like BTW. Or used to. Still do. Stuff Technic. (Back in the day...)

So, FlowerChild, I wanted to ask you what your opinion on the new update is, mainly the new crop trampling system. I'm assuming you're keeping hemp the same way, where you have to sneak not to trample it, because while wheat as a grass is pretty sturdy, hemp doesn't seem to be if I recall correctly.

I'm not a fan of that change (I think having to sneak to avoid trampling crops was a cool mechanic), but it will apply to Hemp as well, seeing as how it's the soil that gets trampled, not the plant itself.

Dang, I liked having to be extra careful about fencing off my hemp farm, because if one stray sheep got in it could ruin everything. Could you possibly include a new option in the config file to re-enable the old mechanics? Because otherwise there's no point to making planters at all besides aesthetics and farming in the Nether. And besides, it makes things much more challenging when you have to balance farm output with the resources it costs to enclose the whole thing in the first place.
I have two requests that I'm gonna make, flowerchild, but I'm not exactly sure if you're going to like it.
I found this amazing mod on the internet called Railcraft. I already had ModLoaderMP, ModLoader, TMI, Better Then Wolves, Better Then Buildcraft, and Buildcraft. It needed ModLoader and MP which I already had, but when I installed it and turned on minecraft, it crashed. I'm assuming this is because of your mod, which you claim is "Incompatible with everything!" and I agree. However, I need you to somehow make better then wolves compatible with Railcraft.
Thanks,
Me.

My Average Day: Sleep, Eat, Learn, Eat, PLAY MINECRAFT, Eat, Sleep, Repeat.
I agree, and with sheep growing wool back we finally don't have to shear>breed>kill with them. And that's a very good addition to farms. Although 1.2 is a very important update, adding the API (Hopefully), and dragons (I think).
I doubt he means that he'll be waiting until 1.2. I think what he means is that since BTB requires BTW and BC, it would be ridiculous to update one mod rather than wait and update them both.
In the mean time I can get my wheat farm working, so that I can get my animal farm up, so I no longer have to worry about anything. Hahaha.

You realize the "Incompatible with everything" slogan is just a sarcastic remark to poke fun at a previous comment he once had? And why exactly would you "assume" BTW was the cause? How about BuildCraft? You know it could also be TMI.

Pretty sure Railcraft needs forge to work properly in the first place. If you installed it without that, then there's your reason. If you installed it WITH that then....well there's your reason.

Actually, the Planter's primary use is in automation. It was never about the trampling behavior.
And doubtful I will do anything with regards to the old trampling mechanics. As I said, I prefer them myself. However, I don't want to get into the habit of both modifying base classes and spending the extra time involved, just to support legacy MC behavior, especially for something this minor.

I was thinking exactly this. The ability to walk on crops takes away a lot of the reasons to fence-off farms, use planters, or strategically layout farms so you don't accidentally trample. Now that I can just frolic freely through my crops, farming is even easier than it already was.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just read your response. It's just that I really feel that farming shouldn't be this easy...
Had a quick question. Been playing w/ Better Than Wolves for awhile now and love the mod, I haven't updated to 1.1 because I wasn't sure if it would mess anything up w/ the mod or not, any clue if the update will do anything / allow me to keep playing BTW? Love the mod and want to keep up w/ my current world.

BTW will not work with 1.1. You're not going to be able to keep playing with the mod if you update, so if you don't want BTW playthroughs to be interrupted, just hold off on updating for now.

Great, thanks! I had a feeling it wouldn't be compatible, I'll hold off w/ the update then. :smile.gif:
i have a question. i understand why you dropped forge comparability, as i have watched battosay's videos, and i support your right to make that decision, however, now that BTW is incompatible with red power, do you have any plans to add some form of redstone simplification into BTW?
it seems like you have already done some of this with the block dispenser/turntable combo creating a counting circuit, but some of the other things, such as having greater control over the shape of the wiring itself and the ability to place wire vertically seem invaluable. i am sure you could add some of these abilities in a way that is unique, as you have already demonstrated with the aforementioned block dispenser trick.
However, there is something about making my mod require another mod to install it that rubs me the wrong way. I'm also not certain I want to be spending time on making it ML compatible I could be spending on adding additional features, especially if there's an official mod sdk on the way.
Anyways...I'll look into it further. No promises, but it's a possibility.
Wait so it's only compatible with better than build craft ?
I have no idea who you are, so I don't know what would be up with it :smile.gif:
EDIT: Oh, you're BlueBlade's brother. No no, I banned HIM for getting you to pester me about that bug yesterday.

Hey I was wondering if you were going to fix that bug or not.
I doubt it. The chances of a guy like you bothering with anything like advanced Minecart detection are exceedingly unlikely.

I think you need to take a close look at the differences between the concepts of "want" and "need".
Either way: no.

Wow, banning someone on your forums for pestering you here.
That has got to be pretty high on the **** move list.

Do you have mine craft version 1.0.0? It's not compatible with 1.1.0. Also I think it's not compatible with any mods.
HOW DO I PUT IMAGES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
